As a bass baritone, learning to do this years ago was the only way for me to really start traveling higher in my range, super useful! My teacher at the time loved my boomy chest voice, but I couldn't really tap into higher registers without straining, this forward/lightly nasal resonance really was a game changer for me, helped me learn to connect my chest voice with my head voice and not strain.
