This letter not only tore TARJA apart, but it also tore apart Tuomas so bad, that he even admitted, that he went into a very deep depression for about almost a whole year, he said in an interview.
Also, as much as Tuomas wanted Tarja out of the Nighwish band, at the same time, Tuomas HATED THE VERY FACT THAT TARJA ENDED UP LEAVING NIGHWISH. It was a hate/love relationship for Tuomas. A paradox of mix feelings.
Even before TARJA spent the next 9 years with Nightwish, Tuomas and Tarja knew each other, even before, when TARJA was in High school. Tarja was 14 yrs old, and Tuomas was 15 yrs old. They were playing in a school band, together. Back in 1992.

The way I like to put this is that it was a cockfight between two guys and it's just her husband won. And I do think they tried to paint her in a bad light to the point where other people in the industry were like 'ugh she's a diva' before meeting her and seeing she's actually a really nice and humble person. But yeah she's not coming back and honestly? Good for her.
Yes, hard to read. At that time i had no Idea what was going on. First time reading that Letter. And that lead to Tuomas Depression and so on. Oh my Godness. Yes but Nightwish is a Group, not a one Woman or Man Show.. not only Floor Anette or Tarja. Everybody is important. Jukka the Drummer, Marko gone...they had enough Rollercoasters. Tarja also wrote a Letter
I would watch Tarja's interview immediately after to hear the other side of the story. I'm not really gonna touch on her husbands response, but it's pretty interesting what he said, too.
They should have kept all of this private. It seems like Toumas was trying to paint Tarja in a bad light. The flying separate thing is completely understandable. In the documentary End of Innocence, it showed the guys non stop partying and smoking on the tour bus. Toumas was constantly drunk and passing out everywhere. You can’t expect a classically trained singer to travel in those conditions. It would ruin her voice. There’s a lot more I could go into, but I’m just not feeling it. The Situation is definitely less one sided, and more, both parties didn’t know how to communicate to each other. Even Toumas has come out and said as such. He thinks the situation could have ended differently if he would have attempted more communication with Tarja. The whole situation is just sad. But, it’s all In the past.
