Another solid addition to the original series. One of the most impressive aspects of these episodes is the impeccable playing of Captain Kirk by James Cawley, without which the every other effort would be wasted. He brings the same intelligence, the same sly humour, the same ready decisiveness, the same integrity and rational fairness, the same intensity, without it seeming like an act, but as if it is coming naturally from himself. Bravo, Mr Cawley!
It is not a impeccable portray of Kirk. It is terrible, if you like kirk against the defiant it is fine. but it all makes little sense, love the story hate the direction. Because I'm so often shocked to see that good sense absent, in huge, multi million productions. The a script is the first thing there, the core of the project, it's the bit that costs almost nothing and improving upon it likewise - it takes one guy, a pencil and a bit of time to get right or to fix. ...And yet so often a blatantly flawed/unfinished script is allowed to go into production and all the work following on from that is so obviously doomed to failure because you NEVER see a public, kids or adults both, come out of a theatre or cinema and say: "Wow! I loved that! ...The story didn't work, the dialogue jarred... but, it looked great, what a great film!" ...It just doesn't happen, and yet it seems so many insist that it might happen for them, somehow, weirdly, impossibly - and they compromise the entire production, right at the beginning, when they could easily do something about it. Point being. This is an 'amateur' production but they have their heads screwed on far better than a lot of professionals in that sense.
All of you do a great job on Star Trek, this was my favorite show back in the late 60s when the networks didn't think it would go over well, man were they all wrong.
CGI is quite good, and a nice homage to the original series. Acting ranges from okay to amateurish, but considering it's fan made for the fans, overall, well done. Always nice to see Barbara Luna again...excellent job on her part.
LOL at myself. I thought at the beginning it was all a bit amateurish, and in a way it is. BUT, I couldn't stop watching and now I want to see more. Congratulations.
This is absolutely what many of us having been seeking since Paramount has done nothing but but out one disastrous series after another! it's like watching The Original Series, Thank The Maker (Gene Roddenberry) and You So Very Much!
It's like time traveling back to the 1960s & discovering a whole bunch of lost episodes . ( with the benefit of 21st century special effects !!! ) Awesome work on the writing , acting & production .
This is awesome! You have managed to recreate everything almost perfectly. I even love the over acting and the dramatic music where a commercial would be inserted. Bravo!
Incredible special effects! These episodes are like discovering the original series I remember growing up with as a kid! I recall Barbara Luna from Star Trek's Season Two episode, 'Mirror, Mirror. These 'New Voyages' resurrect a lot of the magic of Gene Roddenberry's iconic series, and though the actors are different, they have a way of refreshing the memories that have endeared 'Star Trek' to millions of fans worldwide! I am fortunate to have grown up during the birth of the phenomena that has survived and become enriched through fifty years of 'boldly going where no man has gone before!' Oh! A little note of irony here: I recognize some of the music from another landmark TV series from the sixties: 'The Invaders!'
I also recognize the endorian with the horn’s like a unicorn on it’s head.He was in the original series, too. He poisoned himself with slow poison in the original episode. But,I don’t know the titles name.
This is the second time I have seen these in a year and I am still very impressed. All the characters talk and act true to form and the stories are intriguing. Real Star Trek. As preteens my friends used to sit around and invent episode stories together, "beaming down" to the backyard and running around like a mad bunch of hatters. Good thing nobody had cameras back then 😎 (or was it? 🤔).
Not surprising, he was Zachary Quinto's double on the two Star Trek movies made by JJ. It was during the filming of the first movie that James got to know him on set and offered him the job of Spock on Phase II.
Fabulous work and enthusiasm to all of you who volunteered your time and passions to keep "star trek" alive and going. I enjoyed every moment of your creations. Thank you so much for all of this. You did a terrific job making this seem so real and "come alive". All the best! sincerely, John
Hey it's great seeing connections to Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek: The Next Generation!!!!! The wormhole effects looked excellent!!!!! Thanks for making connections!!!!! IT gives a sense of continuity!!!!!!
Out standing work. By every measure you capture the look, and feel of the original series. The actors have captured the delivery, cadence and body language of the original performers.. This is what I have waited 40 years to see.Not another spin off (good as some of them were) but new episodes of the original show and characters that I fell in love with. Special effects, camera work, script writing are outstanding. I intend to eagerly devour every one and hope for more and more. Bravo!!
I watched all your shows and I loved them all. The show took me back to my childhood. ALL of the actors and support crew made this project work. You got you feet wet in this production. Take that creativity and start a non Star trek project.
Phase II is a fan-film series made by dedicated Star Trek fans. The scripts mainly come from original Star Trek authors like D.C. Fontana, David Gerrold, David Galanter, etc.
Amazing how many old fans have not seen New Voyages. I watched the TOS from when it was first broadcast in the 60's and have been a big fan of every series but the original was always my first love. Enjoy telling people about you. Can't praise your work enough.
This episode, the CGI opening scene - "WOW" Beautiful work!!! saved a screenshot of that!!! I just found this site a few days ago and have watched up to this episode. For a fan made series I think they have done a good job on recreating the look & feel of the original series, I wasn't so sure about it the 1st couple of episodes, but it has gotten better with each episode. I just don't know how they can afford to produce a series of this quality since no one is getting paid!!! The CGI, Scripts, & even the Acting is getting better with each episode, yeah, some of the actors are over acting, but so did Shatner in TOS, & what the hell, they're not getting paid, so what do you want for free!!!
Well, I'm currently rewatching ST: New Voyages (I came across the series 4 years ago)... My verdict: *the best Star Trek series ever made.* Note that I mean not only the best among fan-made - I mean best of all time. Edit: it is the Star Trek in all of its glory and spirit. Just mind-blowing.
I saw the beginning of "Star Trek: TOS" (1966). Of course there's different "players" in this new series, but it's almost like the original 55 years ago😍.
This was really good and I'm not even a Star Trek fan.. for a while there I felt like I was watching the old Star Trek with the original actors.. it was really good I was quite impressed
John Kelley really captures McCoy's spirit. A bit harsher, a bit more brash, but he's got that "feel." Cowley as Kirk is just splendid - he FEELS like another William Shatner. Having some of the other side characters in there like Pete Kirk (who clearly has The Kirk Charm, if you saw the episode before this), Xon, Prescott and the rest just makes the ship feel like "more."
No, we are not permitted to earn anything on these episodes which precludes selling them on DVD. You can however download these episodes in DivX/MKV format (free) which will play on most modern DVD players. They can be downloaded from startrekphase2.de (exact link in the description above).
Excellent job. It is sad that more episodes were not produced before Paramount forced them to quit. Definitely a labor of love. Thank you for your blood, sweat and tears that went into these shows. 👍
I was unaware Paramount rather than bankrupted MGM made them quit. Be different if Paramount were making more of these but they aren't they just want to own and bury good stuff...so many such Hollywood stories and a few more I recently have read... How unkind and greedy. They wont make the production but stop anyone who does ... Just hateful.
@@pcmdenault5391 It was CBS that shut down this show as well as Star Trek Continues due to issues with another fan project called Axanar that involves certain individuals on that project trying to make money from it. When that happened CBS's legal team cracked down and made new rules regarding fan films that said they could only be a max of 15 minutes and No professional actors could participate. Unfortunately that pretty much killed Star Trek fan films for good.
I think the allure of the original version of Star Trek was the telling of the story, the special effects were pretty hoky by today's standards, the acting wasn't great, but it took our imaginations into the future and submerged us into the story. Unfortunately, some contemporary versions dazzle you with special effects but the story line is weak. James Cawley and his friends have successfully captured the vintage appeal of TOS and refreshed it with upgraded effects and CGI, without losing the emphasis on the story line. It's a series for fans by fans, well done.
@Columbus1152 ... another allure of the original was that we had not yet walked on the moon....there was so much talk of it, of course, because it was coming in the near future...Star Trek started in 66 and the moon walk was 69....it got our imaginations going and inspired us to believe we really could at least walk on the moon LOL...it was good timing for the times
@@iamkurgan1126 I used to watch it with my dad when my mom was out. We both knew we shouldn't have been watching it but neither of us told on each other. It's hard to imagine know but Kirt banging ever green, blue or orange space princess (and Bond movies) was considered almost soft porn back then. Honest! There I stood in my footie pajamas, lusting after space chicks and pretending I was Captain Kirt (the Ladies Man of Space). I'm not saying I stopped, just saying when my love for women (of all colors) started.
@@GabrielKish Absolutely. The social standards of the day were as you said. The kicker is the scantilly clad females (tame for todays audience lol) DID NOT distract from the story. Your brain was actually entertained more than your loins! See that done as skillfully by "modern" productions!!!!! Not likely.
I posted a bit earlier on another episode " Come What May" that I wondered what you could do with a larger budget, and now I've seen it. Great job. And I think the acting level has improved a lot.

Awesome!!!
Wow just saw this!!! Thank you from the bottom of my HEART!
All of you do a great job on Star Trek, this was my favorite show back in the late 60s when the networks didn't think it would go over well, man were they all wrong.
This has so much TOS feel to it, unbelievable!
this is what remakes should have been like.
TOS?
@@Americanpatriot-zo2tk The Original Series. often referred to as ST: TOS by fans. or fanatics as the case may be. ;-)
@@jwlundgren Jennifer, thanks a lot! Have a wonderful day
CGI is quite good, and a nice homage to the original series. Acting ranges from okay to amateurish, but considering it's fan made for the fans, overall, well done. Always nice to see Barbara Luna again...excellent job on her part.
shatner amateurish...
I really liked this, I felt like I was actually watching the show during the late 60s. Really good work and really good acting. Thank you for this.
It's like time traveling back to the 1960s & discovering a whole bunch of lost episodes . ( with the benefit of 21st century special effects !!! ) Awesome work on the writing , acting & production .
Loves these episodes, wish there were more to enjoy
I've got to say, that as an original Trekkie, I LOVE THIS SERIES! Thank you so much for doing them! Live Long and Prosper!
That's where I know her from. Been racking my brain the episode.Thank you !
Yes,this is;Barbra Luna from the episode;Mirror,Mirror!
This puts the networks to shame!!! Beautifully done! Please continue!!!
This is great! This is way better than I thought. A lot of effort was put into this. Hope you guys make more of these awesome shows. :)
I love these new star trek shows....awesome...we need more
Not surprising, he was Zachary Quinto's double on the two Star Trek movies made by JJ. It was during the filming of the first movie that James got to know him on set and offered him the job of Spock on Phase II.
i watched the original series when i was a kid.. but this new one is so awesome and bring back old memories.. thanks
This is so much better than anything CBS or Abrams is turning out now. Thank you!
You say that as if you think this is some kind of hard task . . .
What a gem. Love your production. You have a new fan 🤩
Fantastic new voyages, love them already and the acting will only get better too.
Bravo!!
I want a full series of these movies....awesome
Can't praise your work enough.
j
Brilliant! Loved it. Great job. Thanking you for your efforts.
This is the second episode I've watched. I'm not watching in order. VERY enjoyable! My compliments to the entire crew!
Great fun, continuous action, twists and turns of brawn and cunning drive.
Knew this was available for a long time but never got around to watching until tonight. It is a satisfying Star Trek tale. Thanks!
Yesssss! Its sooooo goooood. This is the perfect drug for an old Star Trek watcher. Be blessed you wonderful people!
Congratulations. Excelent, a very beautiful tribute to STAR TREK and their original crew.
This is, hands down, one of the best episodes you've done so far.
Star Trek Continues is the best fan series.
I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS !! THANK YOU !!!
I saw the beginning of "Star Trek: TOS" (1966). Of course there's different "players" in this new series, but it's almost like the original 55 years ago😍.
Rewatching years later and the dialog still isn't getting old. _"We were having a conversation!" "You were psychoanalyzing. I wasn't listening."_
This was really good and I'm not even a Star Trek fan.. for a while there I felt like I was watching the old Star Trek with the original actors.. it was really good I was quite impressed
Agreed.
@@strangemeasuremusic (With my best Scottish bough) Aye, that it be, laddie!
So while the Enterprise is being attacked by enemy ships, Kirk calmly recommends going and having a beer ! Now I have seen everything !
This was a real good one!! I love how you guys used all the great original Star Trek background music too in all your episodes.
This is excellent. These people should be funded, instead of Hollywood churning out the usual things, by the usual people.
I’ve enjoyed this serie”s since I’ve seen it a year ago. It”s like our old Star Trek that we know and ❤️ love!
GREAT JOB to all parties involved in this project/series!!
Keep up the good work!! :-)
The episode’s of;Star Trek new voyage’s are just what I need for my entertainment for the summer! Two thumb’s ⬆️ up!
Yes Barbara Luna starred as the captain woman in mirror mirror 10/07/67. Cool how Barbara star's again in fan based trek. You go girl.
I thought she looked familiar. At first I thought she was the Romulan Commander from "Enterprise Incident", but I am terrible at actor names LOL
Starred, not stared
Did anyone realise that the knife she pulled on her crewman was same as the one from mirror, mirror?
@@timothybird5817 didn't catch that! Well done my man!!
She's almost like a female Kahn lol
Excellent treatment of TOS. The original music is the best way to go. It's a real treat seeing Barbara Luna.
This is absolutely amazing!!! Thanks for making these.
"Two Kirks, god must be punishing me."
i Have Seen 5 Different Kirks
I remember meeting James Cawley at the Tropicana Casino as Elvis . Happy to see all the New Voyages < Great job to all involved !
It did all that while also giving us hot poon to scope. Another reason the sjw star treks have failed.
@@GabrielKish
Absolutely. The social standards of the day were as you said. The kicker is the scantilly clad females (tame for todays audience lol) DID NOT distract from the story. Your brain was actually entertained more than your loins! See that done as skillfully by "modern" productions!!!!! Not likely.
They are doing a good job very enjoyable to watch old school star trek
And yet another episode that brings back 'that feeling'.
I love you guys for doing this.
Thanks! (up to the next...)
I just came across this video, it really gives the feeling of the first series. Well done!
It was great how they referred to Freeman's death and the effect it has had on Peter since the last episode!
gadfageyar
Apparently they’re going for a semi-episodic approach. It works for them.
I posted a bit earlier on another episode " Come What May" that I wondered what you could do with a larger budget, and now I've seen it. Great job. And I think the acting level has improved a lot. I liked the the first I saw, but this is much better polished. I look forward to watching more. Again. Great Job!
Y’know, other fan films might be more “exceptional”, might have a more epic story or what have you, but this? This is just a perfect, competent. Exciting story that would have absolutely worked as an original series story, much more so than any other fan film I’ve ever seen.
The golden age of fan films. I miss those days and congratulate the part James cawley's team played in it.
