Stihl 661C vs Husqvarna 390xp- Speed Comparison

- The Stihl was equipped with Stihl full chisel non safety chain, and the Husqvarna had the X-Cut by Husqvarna. Both chains were brand new and matched to the saws.
The 390xp didn't have a muffler. At some point it must have fallen off and Kyetin doesn't have the replacement yet. We don't know if that affected the outcome of this test, but most reports are that the Husqvarna cuts faster if it's working properly. I believe the X-cut chain is the fastest cutting chain available and that could be a relevant factor in this race. But you have to remember, the branded chain of each saw brand comes pre cut in the sizes needed by the saws of that manufacture. So you wouldn't likely be able to get the right size matching chain for both saws unless you use Oregon, which we do not use due to quality issues.
Sounds like Stihl is giving you some perks. I have never heard such bias. Never experienced Husqvarna's being hard to start either. Both brands are equally reliable. 30 year saw technician here.
No perks, just a bad experience. I have given Husqvarna credit for all the good experiences I've had with them but the report is true.
Dude straight up running without a muffler of any kind
Not a chainsaw nut, but my Husqvarna 455 Rancher starts on the 3rd pull no matter what! Probably a toy to you chaps, but i find it an excellent machine!
Both saws are great.I have three chainsaws.250 180 and 291😊
Awesome setup- I have mostly Stihl saws at this point due to reliability problems and lack of service from Husqvarna.
Stock muffler is a reatriction, also well used saw and longer bar and chain. Anyway I'd personally always choose the pair number Stihl.
390 is running lean. Twist out the low jet.
You can't go wrong with either.
The 390 looks like it's missing the muffler
I think 6 years of use will slow a saw down as well
Then it's not a fair test. Maybe we'll make a new race with the new 661
No it won’t buddy
@@Kyetin That's right. Lower Compression through piston ring wear & tear has No effect on performance? I understand now 😂
There's a new video on the channel with old vs new 661
I personally am a stihl guy. The husky was faster, but the stihl sounded like it held the same speed through the cut. (Didn't bog down as much at least)
Does the 390 even have a muffler? Sounds lean on the low end. Could be why it started hard. Just my observations. Cool video
it does not have a muffler
Pretty sure 2 strokes suck in a small amount through the exhaust. I wouldn't want to run it like that but it's your saw so rock on I guess.
I'd rather having a 385 xp but they don't make them no more , the 390 all day over any Stihl
The Husky runs a too high idle and much too lean: no 'pull from the cellar', also the muffler seems to be broken because it is very loud! The Stihl is well used/worn out because it will not quite keep going in the wood. Short: not a representative test caused by wear and bad settings.
Thanks for watching. Your summary is basically correct.
@easyeddystrees YW.
That long bar slows the stihl down
Yes, the Stihl bar is longer
@edwardrook8146 quindi perde potenza l altra ha anche la marmitta aperta ... comunque video è li chi lo vede trae da sé le proprie conclusioni 👋
WTF 100% crap… that is a ported Husqvarna with muffler mod and unlimited coil . It’s also tuned to lean “ please note how it takes forever to wind down after the cut” against bone stock 661. The Husqvarna is hard to start due to “timing advance”
I felt like the saw had a lot of power but Kyetin says he just bought it brand new a little while ago. We didn't adjust the carb. Should have been stock though, I'll find out.
It’s stock lil boy
The vid I posted above this comment is a 100% stock Husqvarna 390xp video is made by well know saw builder. Anyone who’s knows anything about saws can tell by the sound alone… Also bring Down the fuel metering lever in that 661 it will help it not run like crap. The 661 is over fueling bad
@@easyeddystrees 100% stock Husqvarna 390xp: ruclips.net/video/g99zdofzDos/видео.htmlsi=oRmUS9j4wLCt5xia
@@DIESELMAN8V92 I wonder if all that power came from having no muffler? My worker says he bought it off the rack.
Husqvarna wins. Fatality
👍👍👌👌
What oil do you run?
Stihl gray bottle
Huskies outperform Stihls more or less across the board. Facts are facts.
I prefer the feeling of a Husqvarna when it's running but that feeling doesn't last more than 8 months in my experience.
@ I’ve had all mine for years, but the caveat is they’re the pro series saws. (592, 390, 555, t540) The consumer Husky saws are total crap. If I was going with a consumer saw I’d buy Stihl. I also have a Stihl pole saw, as I really like the 4 cycle motor that runs on 2 cycle gas. Cheers!
No wonder that 390 don't sound good there's no muffler on it WTF, and then you talk shit saying Husqvarna saws are junk .
Lean out the stihl to so it could actually compete it's to thick on the upper end
That's a computerized model with no carb adjustments.
Junktronics should have let it idle to few minutes to let the carb adjust to the area like they are programed to no one ever dose it
No muffler on the 390?? Then want to bash husky in future video...enough said about you..
Husky has bad models just like stihl has bad models. Same with ford vs chevy. That was not a fair comparison for a 100 reasons.
The chain on that stihl is wayyyy too loose!
Stihl chain isn't pre-stretched so it gets longer right away during first use.
That's not a problem with Husqvarna you have to tune the saw , witch it's obvious you haven't cus that pore saw is scavenging for fuel,
