Their bond is so tight. Every video I've seen of them the looks she gives him shows how strong their connection is. She stuck by him through addiction to sobriety. That takes true love.
And then? What about now? It makes me sooooooooo angry….
@@jamisonwatters ?
I just discovered him last week. I have listened to him for an hour or so each day. The depth of his songwriting is wonderful. This man is one of the great ones.
Well said
Have you heard Cover Me Up?
Best thing I ever did was skip his show and buy 10 shows on bandcamp instead.

If you can say so much with so few words, songwriting is the only logical option. He's breathtakingly brilliant in his elaborate simplicity.
Back again for another view. What a tune. That violin is haunting.
I was sorry to see Isbell leave DBT, but I'm so happy to see that he has his life together, and is sharing it with a beautiful woman.
I used to be bummed he left DBT too but now I see his talent is just too much to be held within a band. I never thought his solo stuff would be THIS good, this deep, soul searching, spine tingling artistry. He needed to be on is own to become who he is.
Damn near strangled by my appetite..... sing it brother, so true.
I know this will sound way too over the top but this version of this song is actual perfection.
This is so beautifully done... they are magic together.
Ken de Masi yes ken, yes they are!
The song is beautiful. Almost as beautiful as Amanda Shires. Both should win awards. Keep it coming.
This is you. Every time I see her I smile 😊
At my age, I understand. I am too old to travel alone anymore. He sings as though he has lived with, and knows my pain.
Evelyn Patterson Burke yes mamn
Traveling alone is hard and scary. Weights my soul down.
I reached that point too.
I'm hearing this at a pretty critical point in my life right now and I'm glad I found it 💚
I recently discovered Isbell and absolutely love his sound and songwriting. This guys heart is so audible. Thanks for sharing this.
This is real music, stripped down to the basics. Great vocals, music and song writing.
Screenplay songwriting. Timeless, marvellous lyrics.
This is my favorite version of this song.
Most of my favorite versions of his songs are from his radio performances. A few songs I prefer the studio version but not many.
+Sam Herson He's like Glen Hansard in that respect, a studio can't capture his magic
I’m glad Jason has climbed back out of the pit that nearly consumed him and I’m glad he remembers that the pit was all of his own making.
Jason I've been fighting second gear for the past 30 years
beautiful music!

Carter Vintage Guitars Best I've heard in a long time!! Both of them, separately and together. :)
Classic and I never tire of hearing this song
never
I don’t travel alone when Jason Isbell is singing.
I love the way Amanda looks at Jason when she sings backup vocals with him.
Se nota la complicidad que hay entre ellos, maravillosos los dos ❤.
Jason nails it on this performance. Amanda is also great.
This is a wonderful song with just Jason. Amanda Shires' violin and vocals make it 10x more wonderful. :) I wasn't very familiar with Amanda before I watched this, but I'm already madly in love with her! ;) Oh wait -- she's married to Jason! Lucky guy!
I always fall in love with these type. Susan tedeschi also, but she's married to Derek trucks.
Only you think he was the lucky one
One of his best...there are so many good ones
Music just does not get much better than that!! Same for damn near everything that Jason Isbell does---I sure hope the new album set to drop in July is at least as good as Southeastern is.
This song, their harmonies are sublime.
Awesome song!! One of many!!! Him and her just a fiddle and guitar so humbling and togetherness!! Love it so peaceful!
Jason and Amanda perfect duo and we need to see and hear more of them. Beautiful songs!
Good song, good artist, and yes Amanda really is beautiful
Such a big fan. These two can do no wrong
Absolutely amazing songwriter and performer.
I love this version. They both look like they just got through a big fight… and they agreed, “Let’s put that emotion into the song!”
I love, love, love this - and miss the man who introduced me to Jason ... so much :-)
The Boss loves this guy and that says a lot.
I wish my name was Gary Chow.
@@andylee8358 I wish my name was Andy Lee.
I wish my name was Carl Solomon
Best album of last year by a long way
This is real music.
Ybor City on a Friday night...mmmm.....love this guy, what a talent
This is so haunting and so beautiful.
Gorgeous!
Hard to travel alone when you lose your girl after 40 years. I talk to her still like she's there and then I turn on the radio or a ballgame and I'm ok for awhile. I hurt, I was lucky to love someone so much.
Rick Roybal I’m sorry
This is the first video I saw from them. Had no clue. Their depth is smazing
Your love is so apparent, and your talent is unprecedented. Wow, it's not very often that those two worlds collide. I'm so happy it did. Just amazing!
I'd sell my soul to be able to play a violin like that.
+bender138 Wouldn't sell my soul but I'd love to get one and practice until I could play well!! My husband play guitar and he can play anything so he can help me along. I can't wait to see if they're going to have a boy or a girl!!! Love them both!
You might be disappointed, because that is a viola. A violin has a much higher tone.
Thank you for sharing, beautiful, haunting, proper lyrics, music and musicians at their best...
Such a good rendition of such a good song!
Beautiful from beginning to end.
Just discovered Jason and Amanda shortly before Christmas. My new favorite, especially for the daughter of a long haul bus driver
Such a wonderful song and performance. And that outro on the violin is impeccably done.
So good! I love this version of the song.
The best- The total package and beyond ❤
Thank you for the beautiful songs and your voices
Love these two! Wish I had discovered them sooner...
Wow. Just wow.
Just beautiful!
My bass playing husband loved this song. Then he died from complications and left me alone with this song. Hasn’t been 4 months and I’m tired of being alone with in your house. Our house! My house?
I am so so sorry!!! 💔
So dang good!
If you can find better than this , please tell me; have seen them often in the Twin Cities. Outstanding live!!
Not better, but check out Jesse Dayton and Brennan Leigh
So great! Thanks Jason and Amanda!
Hauntingly beautiful
Thsts gold right there.
Great music. Keep it up.
Thanks Jason love this song I've almost got my million safe miles alone. But that's what we do buddy and I really love your cover me up song I listen to that all the time and I'll be putting this one on repeat -
this is awesome. love this song. they are awesome. amazing. wish they came on my radio show. Mike wnti
This is a great tune from a greater album.
Count me as a big fan of mister Isbell's...
Wow this girl has a great voice!!
Beautiful!!
Outstanding songwriting and performance. Regards, George Armstrong
Great are the backing vocals by Amanda Shires. Greetings from Guadalajara (México). 20201010 (Saturday).
One of the best songs I have ever heard!
God that was amazing.
so good!
This is really good
Dedicated to my sweetheart JPD.... this one was made for you.
we all need people in our lives . 1:57
That look they share at 2:42.
I know I love it when they share that look it is beautiful to see such a real love between two people. Makes all the songs that much more special.
What a beautiful song. They are so in love and it comes through in their music.
magical

“Heart like a rebuilt part, don’t know how much it’s got left.” - wow
This guy is like Springsteen, Dylan, Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley, John Fogerty, Prince and Johnny Cash. But better than all of them combined. True!
harmony,violin,lyrics are genious.....
Been on that road before....thanks Jason. Love you bro.
Hauntingly reminds me of Waylon and Jessi in how she takes a backseat to his talent even though she could explode her career herself....
She does have a career separate from him...and he plays in her band.
Levi Keehler she doesn’t take a backseat!!! She’s in The Higwomen for Christ’s sake!!! And he’s the one taking the backseat. And that’s the way it should be!!!
2 thumbs up!
proud of our southern boy..
Sweet!
His vocals on this song remind me of Michael Martin Murphey. Anyone remember him?
One of my heros
Wildfire is truly a top 10 song of all time. Turn the page, the year of the cat also make it for me.
This. Killer.
This song!!
please do more covers of Carl Perkins Cadillac. You are the best!
So damn tastefull 🔥🔥🔥
Fuckin' awesome
To the guy that called this song a hooker song.... how do you know this song isn’t about her? Traveling in life, deciding to make an honest woman out of her to travel together through life?
Tiffany McAllister He’s just referring to the line in the song about the street girl in Ybor City. Isbell clearly referring back to his drug and alcohol days that he’s now gotten past.
💫
Whoa
Sections of this song sound very similar to John Prine's "Hello In There". The chorus is different, but the timing and vocal phrasing are pretty close. Hey, if you're going to borrow from someone, it may as well be the best.
Perhaps that's why I like this song so much - wore out a couple copies of Hello in There.
***** Ha! I saw Prine last night with Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell opening. They played a few songs together throughout the night. Seems apropos.
***** old quote: "good artists create. great artists steal"...every artist got an "idea" somewhere. nothing new under the sun......plagiarism is real, but... a different animal.
***** Wow, what an incredible concert, you're lucky. I once saw Allison Krause open for Prine in a small club in Nashville.. No one knew who Allison Krause was at the time.
***** I wonder if you're talking about the Lexington show. They closed with Paradise. To see the three of them on stage together was amazing. "Unwed Fathers" and "In spite of Ourselves" was like seeing him play with Iris.
wicked good one Omg
Johnny and June . . . .
still cannot find "the color of a cloudy day" :S
Sounds very John Priney. Good tune.
can someone load the song "the color of a cloudy day"? please :D
Did you also watch The Fear of 13? Heard this song in this most wonderful but sad documentary.
If you did not: Southeastern Records; Fame Publishing. Perhaps this helps you find the song ;-)
+Hella van Hout Yes, it was in the film that I heard it! And then I searched everywhere for it and couldn't find it.

I hope this works! Tried very hard to find it, not spam or anything harmful, just trying to share a very lovely song!
Reminds me of John Prine!!
