This is still one of the best looking airplanes in the world!!
Lots of fond memories of this beautiful plane flying in the Swedish skies.
This is an astonishing piece of Swedish engineering!
It makes me so proud to be Swedish!

Grew up with these flying over my head as I was living in a town where there used to be an Airforce Base. Never gets old :) Beautiful aircraft!

Agreed. Seen it twice at Waddington in the last two years and both times it was hugely impressive.

Fun facts: Draken and Viggen got pretty much the same perfomance except different roles, the Draken was intented to be a interceptor to intercept bomb planes at high altitude and Viggen was intented to be more of a dogfighter, but perfomance wise they were almost the same, after Draken they wanted a plane that could be alittle more flexible in the air but still be a allround aircraft, it wasn't faster or anything (that people may think), a Draken pilot once said that the thing that keeps Draken from reaching really high speed is the fuel limit, it runs out very fast, when the fuel starts to run out the plane is just going and going even over mach 2. Viggen on the other hand was a sort of trial and error by Saab, they tested what worked best at the time being and they came up with one of the best aircrafts of it's time.

Being an aircraft photographer I was very sad that Sweden had retired its Viggens as I always hoped to be able to shoot it, but now theres still hope. Great video I enjoyed it very much!

The Viggen and Draken displays were very nice and with the Swedish Historic Flight having been to the UK twice in the last two years; there is a very good chance of seeing them again. Thanks for the comment pasley21.

Which Viggen did you like the most?, the AJ or JA?, the JA is longer and bigger tailfin, both is great aircraft but my personal favourite is JA, so brutal.

Thanks for upload! They are pretty loud, sounding like a spacerocket when afterburner is at max.

Ваш JAS-37 Миг-23 гонял бы по всему небу не испытывая проблем с перегрузками. Не надо думать, что в годы создания этого SAAB не было для него достойных противников.
