Really wish we still had a waddington airshow, or at least made a proper go of it at Scampton. The RAF is much smaller today, but not that small that it cant put on a proper RAF at home airshow. We only have RIAT and Yeovilton shows now hosted at active military airfields. A real shame compared to the 90's and early 2000's. They used to put on a great show at Coningsby, you would think that would make a perfect airshow destination for the RAF, Plenty of Typhoons to wheel out.
@@distortedreality4603 I have never been to Cosford, but always thought it was a small-ish show, with maybe limited static. I miss Mildenhall the most.
@@robertblay9179 I went for the first time this year, it's ok to be fair, obviously not on the scale of airshows of old! But the static line up is excellent, they bring a lot of the rare aircraft out of the museum. Think I will be going back to RIAT next year, I was a Finningley regular then Waddington after that, but since it closed RIAT is the best
@@distortedreality4603 Yes RIAT is as good as it gets these days. I went last year on the Friday, excellent day, I'm not going this year, I usually go on the same year as farnborough, as they often seem to get a few more displays at RIAT that also fly at farnborough such as the Super Hornet ect. I spent most of my childhood at airshows, I'm taking my 7 year old lad to flying legends at Duxford in a couple of weeks time, his first airshow.
More beautiful than any diamonds from Cartier! Glorious wings of freedom. Me Dad fought in the Eastern and worshipped Churchill. I've written on other sites that he said the Brits have never gotten the credit they deserve.
God I miss the Waddington show.
Love the nimrod, desperately needed today

Totally agree ! I think Cosford is the only RAF airshow left, it's not a bad day out but it's no match on Waddington
