Thank you for your suggestion. I just purchased that cord last week when I was looking for the knit yarn. I will give it a try. Thank you 😊

I'm a crocheter BUT I learned to knit 1 week ago so I could make these specific potholders. They're advertised as "Creative Co-op CROCHET Potholders" on every website I saw selling them so I wasted an entire day looking for the "CROCHET STITCH" to make them and just before giving up, I stumbled upon a really good tutorial that showed how to KNIT them from 6mm macrame rope. Ever since then, I've been searching Knit Garter Stitch tutorials showing different techniques for making neat, straight edges and yours is slightly different but definitely NOT A BAD THING though because your way is simpler!👍♥️ I've just finished my first potholder except for the final tying off because I haven't made a decision about the hanger part of it. I'm still looking for ideas. I think I will use your "slip knit wise" method for EVERY ROW on my next potholder instead of slip-knit the right side and purl-slip the wrong side as I did on my first potholder if it produces the same neat results. It'll be easier to maintain consistency because I won't have to think about right side, wrong side or whether I need to purl slip or knit slip. Thank you very much for sharing your instructions for this potholder and making it simpler for me. 👍♥️🙂

Thank you for this great video! I’m brand new to knitting just comfortable with a long tail cast on and the knit stitch. I’m confused about the 56” ball. I cut 64” from the middle of my 50yd skein and there’s not enough (when folded in half) to complete 13 cast ons. Are you taking 56” from each of the 2 balls for a total of 112” ball? Arrgh, old brain here :( Tia for any tips!

Is this 100% cotton? I can't find it. You can't use a polyester mix for potholders

This one is but it’s been discontinued it seems. You could try Chunky Cotton by Premier Yarns.

I have been to several stores today and had no luck finding cotton weight 6. It dawned on me that I could have bought wool! Wool holds up under heat. Have you ever used wool?

I found that Hobby Lobby discontinued the yarn. What would be the best yarn to substitute.

I would try Yarn Bee Braided Basics XXL. It’s not perfect but it’s the closest I’ve found. It’s so unfortunate that they discontinued.

I can’t seem to be able to find this yarn. I looked at my nearest Hobby Lobby and online…..no go.

It seems like it’s out of stock or discontinued. How unfortunate. I would try Yarn Bee Braided Basics XXL.
