Awesome video, I was recently gifted some beautiful sourdough as well as some starter and wanted to make a gift for the person who gave it to me. I think this will be perfect.

this is great! I knit one up using some old cotton t-shirt "yarn" that I had leftover. And rather than sewing it at the end, I made a stitch whenever I could reach the main spiral. Using a crochet hook helped a lot here. Then I would do a SSK at the end of the row to reduce back to my original 3 stitches. My t-shirt yarn had seams so my finished product was not nearly as pretty as yours but I really liked being able to reuse an old t-shirt. Thanks for a great idea! :)

I have a question: Can you use a tapestry needle and yarn for the base? I'm very shortsighted so using an ordinary sewing needle is very difficult for me

Quick question...I have yarn that is 85% recycled cotton and 15% polyester. Is that a high enough cotton content to not melt? It makes me so nervous lol 😅

I think that should be ok. If you want to test it out you can put a hot pan on a strand of the yarn to see how it holds up

Just bought circular needles. Probably too large for this though
