      Could you keep a smaller species of severum with geophagus red head tapajo’s?

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  3 года назад +2

      yes they do well as long as the tank is large enough (125 gallon or larger) and there are several of each species!

    Great video bro! I have 5 red heads in my 180 with my oscars, severums, bala shark, and green terror (tank boss) ...one of the calmest community tanks ive ever kept! Outside of my 2 oscars constantly bickering with eachother , everyone gets along perfectly and no one bothers my geos. Absolutely LOVE watching my geo's thrive they are so awesome and fun to watch!

    I love those geophagus!!!!! I’ve wanted some for a long time... will have to get some one day... my 55g has discus and my 125 has Altum angels.

    • @LeahhJett
      @LeahhJett 3 года назад +1

      Or maybe just get another 125G 😁🤩

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  3 года назад +1

      well I always say yes to more tanks! lol but they can actully live with both altums and discus and get pushed around by both altums and discus ! in that regard these guys are peaceful!
      the only thing i would say is a single male will be aggressive towards the discus and angles and even other fish, but in a group they get pushed around by the discus and angels! the group really reduces aggression and makes them super chill!

    I was actually thinking of cohabiting geophagus with bolivian rams, but I dont know about tapajos because I think they like it quite a bit hotter than the rams

    They’re so colourful! I got mine when they were about a year and they still had no colour. Now after 6 months they have a little colour but still not much

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  3 года назад +1

      give them good colour enhancing food to improve the health and vigor of the fish! also the more comfortable and happy the fish are the brighter the coloures! these guys are always spawning so its a big factor to seeing good colour too! if they aren't spawning the fish aren't as turned on!

    I have a 90g. Pool filter sand substrate. FX6 and Eheim Pro 3 g160 filtration. I’ve been with African Cichlids for many years, I’m looking to switch with South Americans. Looking at 6-7 Geo. Tapajos, 3 Severums, a pair of Acaras, and some tetras and barbs. Also my water in my house runs of a water softener. What water parameters are best, ph, kh, gh, temp? And is my number of fish good or is too much or can I add more geo’s?

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  2 года назад +1

      maybe a few larger fish might be better imo.. as for water anywhere below 7.5 ph shold be good and 7ph ideally.. kh of about 2 to4 kh and temprature around80F

    Could you keep a single one of these fish with other types of chiclid like a acara or jack Dempsey, fire mouth. So basically a chiclid community but just one of its own kind?

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  3 года назад +1

      yes should be fine as long as the tank is big enough for the fish

  • @michaellou7101

    But....my 3.5 inch Chinese crown pearlscale goldfish starts at 70 US dollars. So fancy goldfish must be quite expensive. A Thai oranda is more than 150 each and so are the ranchus. I didn’t realize until I compare them to tropical.

    • @AquaMalik

    • @AquaMalik

      it depends .. if the pnats are already established it works ok like in my tank here but they are diggers by nature!
