@@vitahealth.2372 well luckily you commented that we should be careful with the word: "great", so drivers like hamilton dont accidently get rated with the greats like max, alonso and senna
Neutral here: Love him or hate him Max will go down in the history books as one of the all time greats. The God-given speed, the car control, his ruthlessness, stubbornness (That said I don't agree with his overly aggressive driving every now and then), his race craft and his maturity has been awesome to see. If you can take your tribalism towards your favorite driver aside and acknowledge that we're witnessing greatness, like it was was with the other greats
A decent comment. Loads of channels take over the bias British Sky media who direct and indirect diminished him for decades. They Succesfully created the narrative by pushing and selectively showing only his aggressive moves, neglecting to show similar moves from other champions and drivers, essentially framing it as if he’s somehow more aggressive than other drivers! Other drivers, having broken the same rules before, weren’t under the same level of scrutiny, but bc Verstappen did it as an 18yo all of a sudden it needed to be changed…
to add to the aggressiveness compare to the other greats of the sport. He might crash a bit more specially in the past, when not driving the fastest car you always over push the limits of the car, but next to that the cars are way more safe then back in the day. A good crash back in the time of Senna would just cost you your life. Max would 100% have died in the crash with Lewis at Silverstone. Just that tiny difference would make all greats also slightly more aggressive
In a age of PR and made up personalities for camera, Max is just pure opposite. He is street fighter, humble but brash and confident, loving caring for those around him but absolute savage to those he doesnt care about. One of the most intelligent and adaptable racers of all time mixed with his insane consistency. He just has so much feel for the car and the reflexes to manage it. The thing is if RedBull hadn't produced a decent car or Honda didnt get their engines right, we might have not witnessed what he did this last 4 years even though we know what he is capable of. Which begs me to ask, Fernando....... what it could have been.
Schumacher did the same.. as it regards to questionable wheel to wheel behavior. Not all champions are the same. For every Max, Schumacher, Senna etc. There is always a Button, Raikonnen, Hamilton
The styles are very different but the thing they all share is the mentality. Make no mistake, every driver you listed is a killer and will stop at nothing to win.
“He really doesn’t care” that’s the key of his success. Some ignorants can boo him, he doesn’t care. Some drivers criticize him, he doesn’t care. FIA against him, he doesn’t care. Mentality, pure Champion Mentality.
@@MohamedLamkhizniaw, someone expects the poor baby to act like a professional, plus he wasn't penalized whatsoever so what's the issue? It's not like the FIA stole a WDC from him due to "human error" via a suggested race fix from his teammate. To paraphrase the Boss Baby himself, your argument is fucked, Mo.
Max is cut from that old school cloth of TRULY pushing every boundary in the sport. Gaps, going for them. Rules, trying his best to bend them to his advantage. These are ALL very Schumacher/Senna-esk traits. And honestly to varying degrees of scrutiny, just about every championship caliber driver traits. You have to be cut throat to win races at the highest level. Period.
The fact that he would prefer to walk away and do other things rather than stay just to keep racking up numbers in a sport that is a shell of its former self speaks volumes about his character and morals. He has nothing else to prove. People who know racing know that he is one of, if not the greatest driver there was, is, and will be. This is not the same sport that he fell in love with anymore. He doesn't care for fame or attention. He is just there to race, and that's what makes him the beast that he is.
I'm fully confident that while he may not be the F1 goat when he decides to retire, he will be the greatest racing driver in history across all categories. He loves racing, not just F1, and when he leaves F1 he will go into other categories and dominate there too
@@phantomistix He doesn't like ovals, but from Dakar, Le Mans, Daytona, Bathurst and a lot more, he will race and likely be in contention for the win in all those classics
@@Carlos-ln8fd i'd love to see how he does in the 2026 regs, but also equally interested to watch him do another type of racing. Hopefully he finally gives the Nürburgring a go once he's done with f1
@@twanheijkoop6753 i mean i'd love it if he were to move to other types of motorsport and also win. that'd be super cool but... i also want him in F1. i guess any scenario is good as long as he continues to race.
I dont like max, but for me he is the GOAT. His talent and mentality is unmatched. I hope he doesnt stagnate in f1 and keeps going for decades across msny other disciplines of racing. He could achieve truly remarkable things. As a person i think he is flawed, but as a racer these flaws give him the edge alongside his racecraft and natural talent. 10:05 that reminds me of Baku last year, I’ve heard somewhere that Max was furious after the race and he said he would never be beaten by him (Perez) again.
Completely agree. I think all of the greats a have a switch that they can, to varying degrees, switch and become unbeatable. Hamilton in a championship winning/ losing race, max when his teammate seems to be outperforming for whatever reason, Alonso when someone leaves-ah-dah-space
his drive in 2023 where he can literally win the WCC by his own WDC point is nuts, we have seen another driver doing well with dominant car but not as much as Max did, Mclaren once win all but one race with two drivers in 1988, Max win 19 out of 22, it's just crazy.
My opinion but I personally believe and thats based on watching past racers, excluding things like engine failures or tyre blowouts etc, no one in their prime would beat prime Max in the same car over a whole season, it will be close, rough but in my opinion Max edges them, Sir Lewis, Senna, Schumacher....
Have to disagree with this. Max is very similar to Fernando, in that he is excellent in a race but I don’t think he’s the fastest qualifier. Over a season, in equal machinery, prime Lewis and Schumacher would beat him - although I agree it would be close. Him and Alonso would be a toss up. I’d arguably be inclined to say prime Seb may have the better of Max, it would really depend which suited the specific car the most. As for Senna, I’m too young to offer any credible opinion on how he’d have done over a season vs any of above. Over one lap though…
No one and NOTHING can make me hate Max. I love motorsport so much that it's so difficult for me to not love, adore and respect Max as a racer and as a person. He's confident, down to earth and is okay with being misunderstood. He's got nothing to prove because he is the IT.
Max and Alonso are above the entire grid in any terms, even above Hamilton, because they are the only ones in today s era that show us what being a racer means, what means to require skills in terms of attacking and defending driving style
The disrespect is coming from only one side: the British that is. Schumacher and Alonso went through the same hate campaign from that island. Personally I think it’s disgusting
@@PeterPost-w8m love reading ridiculous and blatantly untrue posts from those with nation envy like yourself. I’ve attended Silverstone most years since 1982 and the British crowd have always shown support for Michael and Fernando. Go spread your lies elsewhere they are transparent and pathetic.
I watch f1 since 2006 and ive watched older races...ive been a ferrari fan... currently leclerc/fernando...but i think max has been the best raw overall talent that ive seen...lewis is close sure but max is the best ive seen definitely, with Lewis i had a few doubts especially in his mclaren days
About Hamilton everyone except his fans and British media has seriously doubts if his talent is equal to his statistics as long as from a driver with 1 wdc and 20 victories from 2007 up to 2013, from 2014 up to 2021 he scored another 80 wins and 6 wdc, so he constantly had an advantage over his rivals with small exceptions. Max showed the same talent and determination Alonso had during his first Renault seasons, with 3rd best car and at an age Hamilton wasn t even in f1, he scored victories and battles
As somebody who is primarily a fan of other motorsports, especially WEC: Max is not overly aggressive. He is totally normal. He is just racing. Most F1 drivers are really defensive when racing
Loads of channels take over the bias British Sky media who direct and indirect diminished him for decades. The British media (worldfeed!) succesfully created the narrative by pushing and selectively showing only his aggressive moves, neglecting to show similar moves from other champions and drivers, essentially framing it as if he’s somehow more aggressive than other drivers! 1:11 Can’t believe you dont include seb in that. His 2017 season was spectacular. He lost the championship but he was in a car with a shit engine, and was in real contention right up until the Asian races that year.
A lot of people talk about 2018, but Seb's best chance to win a title for Ferrari was 2017 One of his greatest seasons, but he lost the title on 3 races, like you guys previously said
2021 is still his best season for me. Going up against prime Ham and winning. Even had he not and Abu Dhabi been Lewis' win, Max was still the best driver that season and I'd say by a strong margin. It's a shame that ending has overshadowed how immense he was that whole season. Other excellent drivers like Leclerc or Vettel would have crumbled, in my opinion.
The corrupt ending would have had Max come second and lose a championship he led from race 1 by around 10 seconds mate. The ending saved everything for him, not the other way round.
I also disagree about this season being Max's best. He was under much bigger pressure in 2021 and still made fewer errors. Actually, Max has made quite a lot of screw ups this season: the trainwreck China sprint quali, running into the bollard in Miami, hitting the wall in Monaco quali and causing the incidents with both Lando and Lewis to name a few. It's just that the rest of the competition has screwed up even more, and in my opinion a lot of the top drivers in general have been less consistent this year than last year.
There has never been a human in history as good in driving racecars than Max Verstappen, I‘m very confident in saying that Like, his only weakness is his lack of emotional control, other than that he‘s kind of perfect at everything when it comes to racing
What a fantastic video. Him almost "flipping" a switch after Monaco 2018 was my feeling as well and was the first time I started to support him and witnessed how great he was.
If you have to change the rules because of how someone drives... he was driving according to the rules. Otherwise you had to ENFORCE the rules, not change them.
Here’s my opinion he is a absolute machine a racing robot 2023 practically 0 mistakes but a robot is only as good as his code and by skipping f2 and years in lower series he missed out on the time to develop wheal to wheal racing skills so I think that’s maxes biggest problem
Honestly, based on character, pure talent and ability to deliver, Fernando is the greatest. I love Lewis, but sometimes he seemed a little too spoiled and too complaining and Mad Max too aggressive under pressure. Given the right car and making the right choices in his carrer, Fernando would've won many more titles. Let's not forget that he won Daytona and LeMans just to see the versatility and pure racing ability
It's funny we're saying that no other world champion has crashed with his competition as much as Max, because the media of the time said the very same thing about Ayrton Senna.
Max got a lot of flak for the same driving standards Lewis had. Lewis however is English. Lewis didn't got penalized for mistakes on track so is isn't traceable.
Can you explain how red bull turn around their fortunes in the Singapore Grand Prix, which was their weakest track last year? How is this not news? I asked one channel and there was no response. So here I am. My guess is that their new chassis handles the curbs well. I have no other explanation.
i feel like this song, and others, are his signature now. different songs for different themes and types of videos. i think it's cool to see the categorization.
Something to consider with his aggression verses that of those past is the safety aspect. Today if they have a massive crash it’s a trip to the doctor and they’re racing then next week; back then if they crash you might just be visiting the parents. It’s like walking bare foot on a trail vs with shoes. With shoes you can go as fast as you can with abandon, but without every pebble feels like a knife. So drivers today including max are less cautious then of days past.
I don't support your thumbnail title by "labelling" Max's career as controversial. I do, however, believe he has disrupted the F1 establishment, and therefore, some will like him while others might not. Just imagine how boring F1 will be if Max would leave the sport at the end of this year.. To label his career as controversial is doing the F1 community and Max a disfavour.

Verstappen annihilates everybody on and off track. No controvercy at all. Simply the best. Et least of the last 20 years. And yes. Hamilton is pretty strong to. Two great drivers on one track. We must love it, not hate it.
Max is one of the greats, but Ayrton Senna is still, by a wide margin, the best greatest of all-time and this coming from a huge Nigel Mansell fan back in the day!
Ah yes sure Max he is the only one in F1 history have incident with his rivals and some drivers aka Senna and Schumacher and Hamilton and Vettel and Alonso isn't have at all LOL
😂 Max will never be polished but he will try to accommodate sometime. He will always walk to the beat of his own drum. He will always look for the limit on and off track. He did what he set out to do with some bonus championships so to him its only fun and games now. He is not there to prove anything to anyone so he lets the F1 community jap about him.
now mclaren and maybe even ferrari are better. Most if not all of Max's wins in 2024 are due to his talent, not the car. Just look at checo, I love him but he is almost always in the bottom of the pack now that redbull doesn't have the best car, but Max is still able to consistently stays at the top.
I'd say Red bull car has been adapted to Max and his driving style. Let's not forget those are Newey designed cars and the man knows how to sway the car one way or the other - in this case towards the amount of oversteer that Max's teammates univerally struggled with. His story is not over, let's come back to it when he has to adapt to the car that hasn't been tailored to his tastes over better half of the decade. Don't get me wrong, building a team around yourself is an achievement itself, even Newey said that Max's feedback has been great.
😂😂😂 Max came into RBR in 2016 😂😂 Newey designed the POINTY RBR CAR FOR 20 years….way before Max ever came to RBR The car is not designed for Max 😂 Newey always designs a pointy car. Seb won championships with it. DR won races. DC won with it…. Lol

Look at the minor mistakes you're naming. He never binned the car, made all the right calls in the rain in Silverstone, Canada, Zandvoort and Interlagos, but he hit a bollard in Miami. Meanwhile pretty much every other driver on track has found the barriers atleast once with maybe the exception of Lando who made plenty of other mistakes to compensate.
@@suckieduckie As I already said, most of the other drivers have made even more screw ups this isn't to say that Max has been bad or anything. I might be nitpicking a bit, but with top talents like Max, anything but perfection seems like a low standard. And my point wasn't about Max versus other drivers this year, it was 2021 Max versus 2024 Max, and I will stand by my opinion that 2021 Max was a tiny bit better.

Tbh max is relying on his early season lead when the redbull was untouched, let's not forget how much of a head start it was. If Mclaren came into the 2024 season immediately on level playing field as the redbull, i think things could be very different early on.
even if you start the season in Imola, Max would be after Singapore right on Norris' tail in standings, thats very impressive given where the Redbull was compared to Mclaren
his ‘early season lead’ was four races, not even five because of the mechanical dnf in australia. we are now in race 18. i think he did the real damage on lando’s chances from imola through to spa
Max is a terrible wheel to wheel racer, the FIA have nursed Max and bent the regulations to suit him and his racing, he has not matured evidenced by his reaction to being told to stop swearing, he does not represent a real champion and you as well as many of his apologists claim that it is him being him and "not fake"
Hes a better racer then Norris and Russell. Even hamilton is not racing hard enough to be a goat. Dont forget that Senna is being hailed as a god while everyone knows he was a hard racer

Max saying that he didn't do anything wrong because he didn't get a penalty proves nothing other than that Max knows the rules better than most drivers, which we could see in Brazil where George and Lando didn't know the difference between an aborted start and a delayed start.... Which they got a slap on the risk for instead of an actual penalty.
Car performance wasn't 'close' as you put it at the start of the season, only since Miami or thereabouts so Max may win because of the points he racked up when his car was still in a league of its own just like last year. In short, this is not a competitive season, half a season maybe.
Before Miami there were 5 races, one of which was a DNF for Max. Hardly half the season is it? Oh and after Miami the points difference was 53, now it is 52.
@@rulifaller8474 I was going to say the same thing. You beat me to it. The guy can't even count to 5. What a joke. Max has won just as many races as Norris since Miami despite the McLaren being the best car since Miami.
People putting him in elite status with Senna Schumacher Hamilton Alonso Prost Fangio are on something. He's been in the same team since 2016 and hasn't had a worthy championship calibre driver in the other seat. Hes's been the number one focus of redbull (factor in toro rosso and hes been in the redbull camp since his debut) of course so hes been delivering aswell but he has no pedigree moments apart from racing Hamilton back in 2021 and his 2016 brazil race. He's one hell of a driver but he's not box office status like those i mentioned, the guy has no historical moments i.e prost and senna, Hamilton and Rosberg. If he had a film made about him, it wouldn't even last a hour. Hamilton Senna Schumacher and Prost would be 2hr plus film maybe even a 2 parter. Max thoroughly deserves the 2024WDC though, that i can admit .
Exactly these new fans are so irritating…zero teammates plus not a win apart from red bull a team notorious for treating the second driver as more of a support rather than a driver
@@Redlingstein i actually complemented him though lmao at the end of the day hes going to be a 4x wdc thats no easy feat but i would like to see how he drives outside of redbull and away from the redbull camp
Ok....I give up....smh...so,,a guy who has been given a couple of championships by the FOM or by his team cheating is one of the greatest?...he's good.........
When did his team cheat? For this whole 2022 budget cap exceeding, they got punished so there was benefit for Verstappen. And before you mention the asymmetric braking from this year, the FIA explicitly mentioned that no team used the system before. And even if they did, it would've been a loophole and not against the rules, that's the whole reason the topic even came up because the FIA changed it to specify the rule better.
I hope you never go back to watch the first 8 years of Hamilton's F1 career, as that will forever stain your opinion of him. He was just as, if not more of a crash-happy, dirty driver than Max in his first few years.
@@PolishEddie92 I saw it the first time, and I'm not a Hamilton fan, but can't remember him moving under breaking. For sure not as much as Max whoo does it to this day when he feels threatened
I dont deny his enormous talent but, the truth is Max îs elevated to this level by external factors. I remember his first victory was not 100% clean, also his first title. He was permited to win in an unfair maner . Not only to win, but especialy to "kill" his oponents and be accepted. Now he îs a supreme killer, almost imposibile to be overtaken in equaly fast care, and if necesary consistently favorized by stewarts . I bet if this favorabile tratament would have been applied to other talented drivers, like Gasly, Albon, Bottas, Hulkenberg, Norris even Tsunoda, they would be much higher level now, maybe same class or even higher than Max.
How much did Jos pay you for this? 😂 Max's talent is great, but it is tarnished by his garbage personality.... you forgot to mention he STOLE Kvyat's life, not just his seat at RB, but Max took his woman and child.... watch Max's sim racing interactions with a child and you'll see how well Jos the abuser raised him. Rather tough to watch a glazing video of a guy who to be a fan of requires the ignornace of facts and suspension of proper morals. Also look at the atmosphere and exodus that Max and Jos's team power have created, one would blame Marko and Hornier but like you stated, max and Jos are more powerful. And his talent isn't enough to drive the post Miami RB20..... the most talented drivers win with any machine not just the best one on the grid. 😂😂 coincidence he has the most collisions of WDC winners. Moving under braking and overly aggressive driving via the sim world. LoL

Neutral here:
Love him or hate him Max will go down in the history books as one of the all time greats.
Another neutral here. Totally agree with you. He's become a real joy to watch. I hope he doesn't leave too soon, unless he's got an interesting goal.
Yeah you're not wrong, keeping it neutral and just enjoying the engineering and spirit of the sport
@@y_fam_goeglyd I have a feeling that he will leave sooner than his contract stipulated. He seems interested in other motorsport categories
I think Sakhir 2020 and Baku 2023 are other inflection points where he just stepped up so much after those races
Both Checo wins, under very different circumstances
Schumacher did the same.. as it regards to questionable wheel to wheel behavior. Not all champions are the same.
For every Max, Schumacher, Senna etc. There is always a Button, Raikonnen, Hamilton
Funny how the most extreme end of both spectrums are also the two most successful drivers ever
@@GameOver-nm2us Just goes to show, no 1 style is the 'correct' one
The styles are very different but the thing they all share is the mentality. Make no mistake, every driver you listed is a killer and will stop at nothing to win.

Hamilton isnt in that list... despite what the British want you to believe. Bias British media doing all the effort putting him there..
“He really doesn’t care” that’s the key of his success.
Some ignorants can boo him, he doesn’t care.

Like how Niki said he is one in a generation

Max only crashed often with Lewis, the numbers with all the other drivers are nothing special.
I believe you're right. Tho, prime Alonso would be an amazing competitor.
Lewis beat Max in 2021 with a car that was slower for most of the year.

Sorry Senna drove his teammate of the track... Schumacher drove into his rivals... Lewis drove in to his teammate...

Can't agree more on Alonso in 2012 👍🏼
Something to consider with his aggression verses that of those past is the safety aspect.

What if next year he is even better?!
10 championships in a row AND im ready for it
I think it's important to mention how he never had a world champion teammate
Brasil 2024 goat
Besides the first 5 races of 24 where he had brake torque magic, I agree. Charles is fast this year too.
😂 you believe Peter Windsors lies 😂😂😂
WHo ?
If you no longer go for the crash, then you are no longer a racing driver
That means Hamilton was the best racing driver of 2023 season😂
Here's the most unsporting F1 driver in history..!!

@@Redlingstein it’s true though
Damn it must be have hard time watch F1 these days well save your tears untill you hear Horner on the 🔉 radio saying "MAX YOU ARE THE WORLD CHAMPION 4 TIME WORLD CHAMPION # And i hope it will go to the last race just for delusionals crybabies Hypocrites snowflakes like you have PTSD from AD twice like in 2021 😭😭😭😭🤣🧢🍼🙎♂️
Tbh max is relying on his early season lead when the redbull was untouched, let's not forget how much of a head start it was.
That's what make him champion. If this if that 😅
i doubt that, landog chokes dick too much
If your mum had balls she would be…. Kind of fantasy…
If if if.
You have it reversed mate. Max has bent his agressiveness to suit the rules and regulations. Rules say you need to be ahead at the apex and then you can push someone wide? Ok diving for the apex it is.
@@suckieduckie well, if that was the case why did Andrea complain about Max's driving and why did all the driver except Max agree to make the rules clearer
The truth is that the FIA favored Max, he even said that if they didn't rule again what he did, then he did not do anything wrong, which means that the FIA not ruling against him encouraged him to be even more reckless.
he is very poor at race craft, that is not even a debatable thing.
@@fixxa6455 Sir Lewis Hamilton is a clean driver and take responsibility for any faults he makes, even to other drivers, he goes in person and apologises
Max has never taken any responsibility for any crash he was at fault
terrible wheel-to-wheel driver
@@tsheponcamane2018 It's very debatable because he's had very good racecraft. McLaren teamboss complains who happens to be on the team they're fighting for the title and you see that as evidence? What are we going to take anything Horner says all that serious? I hope not.
He hasn’t had a teammate of wdc caliber and hasn’t won in a different team both of which is necessary to be treated as a goat

🍼❄️

Ok....I give up....smh...so,,a guy who has been given a couple of championships by the FOM or by his team cheating is one of the greatest?...he's good.........
Ahhahahaha I can just tell you are a Ham fan
When did his team cheat? For this whole 2022 budget cap exceeding, they got punished so there was benefit for Verstappen. And before you mention the asymmetric braking from this year, the FIA explicitly mentioned that no team used the system before. And even if they did, it would've been a loophole and not against the rules, that's the whole reason the topic even came up because the FIA changed it to specify the rule better.
😂😂 oh your jealousy
@@siumiu1635the budget cap was of 2021…not 2022.

Definitely a great driver, but will forever hold the stain of being a dirty driver, in my mind, which is unfortunate
I hope you never go back to watch the first 8 years of Hamilton's F1 career, as that will forever stain your opinion of him. He was just as, if not more of a crash-happy, dirty driver than Max in his first few years.
😂😂 oh your jealousy
You are talking about Lewis now right?
😂😂😂😂 Max has been this exceptional since he started karting at 4…. Has nothing to do with external factors.
Your jealousy is clouding reality.
What was not clean about his first race win? He got in a new car, overtook a Ferrari and defended against the other Ferrari for 20 laps succesfully.
He is a great driver thats it there is a reason he is a 2te champion
LoL
Oh your jealousy is showing 😂😂😂😂
