It’s crazy how long he’s already been in F1 and how long he has left. He could easily be the driver with the most races one day. And could have most championships if he wins half the ones he competes in going forward
The race win record will surely be broken by him..he still has good 20 years of racing ahead of him, hes about as old as Hamilton when he started but he already has a "jump start" :D maybe even the 7 title record could be broken...its just really weird thinking about how Max is already in F1 for 6-7 years but in context of careers such as Hamilton or Vettel, hes just getting started now.
@@likilikiki Physically he could do 20 years no problem.. look at Kimi, the only problem was his lack of ambition after he won the title. Max being a hungry lion could do it for a while, in theory.
Sometimes a rookie shows up in F1 and you just know they'll be a legend. The way the FIA went from, "let's make sure this situation doesn't happen again" to "We need to market this guy" in the space of months was F1 at it's most savage
Yes. It was the same with Hamilton. I started watching F1 seriously a year before Lewis' debute. I immediately chose Lewis as my favourite. Than he went to Mercedes and I started to dislike him. Than Max came, and drom day 1 I was a big fan. All my friends were joking with me about his driving (he had a few accidents lmao) but it was undeniable. He had something that very few has,
@@bondjam8 I liked so much seeing Max maturing and still being as aggressive as he was being a youngster, but with a few adjustments like analysis of situation, awareness etc.

After the race many people expected him to get reprimanded for ignoring the team order, but instead the team backed him up publicly stating Max made the right call by ignoring the team order. It proved how strong minded and confident in his own ability he already was and the team fully acknowledged him.

In one interview max confirms he knows his career fucked up their marriage. And that must have put some extra pressure on him. And maybe thats one of the reasons he seems te drive different this year, with that championship goal finally in the pocket.
This is why I think people who dismiss him for winning just 1 championship in 8 years are just being ignorant. Every other driver spends 2-4 years in junior car racing before coming to F1. Even Hamilton had 5 years of open wheel car racing before his 2007 debut. By the time Verstappen was winning F1 races, other drivers are preparing to start F2. He basically had his junior career in F1.

@@ddha0000 neither did Hamilton deserve the championship for obvious reasons and the six he won with Mercedes are clearly the result of having a far superior preforming car compared to the rest of the field.
It's crazy how many rules got changed because of him, how many f1 driver careers were put to an end, how many people started to hate him and got the biggest fan base F1 had for quite some time, just shows you how special he really is.
I started watching F1 regularly in 2014 and to see a guy my age do wonders at a stage full of world's best drivers was just insane to watch. @@Phantom096 i think you mean exciting moments by some drivers. The way max brings action to the F1 is on a whole unique level. if most drivers see a gap they prepare to overtake in a few laps, if max see's a gap he is allready outbraking them (sometimes far over the line) but at least he tries it.

Even with this fact i think no one equalizes him in pure talent except for Charles but he needs to get some more experience so that we can see his talent like max
@@souhaiilbergallaYeah, I'd agree that Charles and Max seem to stand out in terms of pure talent. Charles is perhaps prone to making more mistakes now compared to Max, since Max had a couple more years to mature and (imo) Charles seems to be very hard on himself (which can backfire slightly). Overall though, Charles is such an amazing driver and I cant wait to see the both of them battle for the next decade or so.
not really true, he didn't start crazily early at all and Jos tried to extent the time of waiting until he had folded to Max' enthusiasm, at a normal age for many.

To be fair, I think the front runners took themselves out and gifted it to Max. But man, it was a punch in the face for Dani Kvyat and the ultimate result for a debut!

Like a cult almost… If you aren’t a fan of his, pretty much all of the stuff he does comes off as so annoying and cringy. Btw, I’m a Miserable loser that 100% is envious of Lewis and his life. So I turn that into not liking him…(helps me sleep at night)
Crazy how he didn't even need to get to F2 and he managed to handle so well in F1 coming from Karting and F3. Apart from that he paved the way for under 20 drivers entering F1.
I’m not sure there has been many under 20 drivers…the young crop were all at least 20 weren’t they? I think Lando was 19 but I can’t think of anyone else.
Like him or not, nobody can deny that he is an absolute racing phenom, a legend in the making. I'm glad to see he has grown and matured so quickly, and you easily forget he was still a kid just a few years ago. There are so many young drivers now that are doing amazing things in these cars, and I like that the teams are seeing the wisdom in getting these guys while they still have plenty of prime years left in them. From the perspective of a middle-aged man, if you're good, your age simply does not factor in. It's making the sport so much more interesting, and I hope guys like Verstappen, Norris, and Leclerc are around for a very long time.
Im a Lewis fan, im gonna leave out what happened last year. However, i said it in 2015 when he stepped in the Toro Rosso that we have a new Senna and even better than that on the grid in the form of Max Verstappen. He had many mistakes but he was super young and restless but his race craft is unique. . Super glad to be from the generation that watched Schumi and Hakkinen, Lewis and now Max, Charles, Lando, George, Albono, Pierre
Finally!! Someone else who sees Senna in him, he has the raw talent and the nerve to go for a gap when he sees it, he has an aggressive yet controlled racing style, just like Senna.
Considering his evolution over the years (debut at 17, first victory at 18, world champion at 24 - close to become the youngest F1 WC ever) and the skills he displays on the track, I really believe he has the potential to become a true Greatest Of All Time, if no major accidents happen.
I'm glad he got into f1 the way he did because I wouldn't have been so into f1 if not for him. Love the way he races, almost always seems to bring the maximum out of his car. Also crazy how he's still young and clearly he's got so much left, even though he's already completed his dream of becoming a world champion. Genuinely very excited to see what happens in the future.
This guy is a natural talent, I first noticed his talent at the Chinese 2015. When he pulled a move on Ericsson and Perez. Good to know his talent since the beginnings, so i can follow the journey of a history maker. Regardless what people say, for now Max is the best in the sport also with his mentality.
@@ddha0000 no, the ferrari looks faster in terms of pure pace but the Red Bull looks like the easiest car to win with. With the ferrari, you can set the fastest lap with how much speed they can carry through corners, but it is harder to pass with the lack of straight line speed compared to RB. Therefore, when max gets ahead, he will stay ahead, and it is easier for him to pass if he gets a perfect exit from a corner with the straight line speed. The battle is all about keeping the RB out of DRS. Max just hasn’t made as many errors this season so far as charles, but I’m sure that will turn around and hope to see a close title fight.

He is the best of the young gun generation I’d put Russell as his biggest rival more than Leclerc. Leclerc has never had a very bad car, the worst is Ferrari but that’s nowhere near what verstappen and Russell had to deal with
The most impressive thing i learnt from this video was the Singapore GP part. Not only did he do a great comeback from last to P8 in a Toro Rosso, he did it AT SINGAPORE
As F1 fan before Ferrari fan I can see how great he is, especially after the last season, and I know he will win some more championships. I just hope this year and some other we can also win some with Charles, Carlos or whatever other driver will drive for Ferrari in these years
Great video! The guy indeed deserved all credits, exactly how you said it; " everybody was waiting for him to fail ". He never did. Living legend by the age of 24 already. Thanks for the video man!
As David Coulthard said, if you're good enough, you're old enough. He's not afraid to call Max out - to his face if necessary (I don't know if he still does it, but he used to fly him to and from the races. He had Max and Danny Ric in the plane after _that_ race in Baku lol), but he's not afraid to say that Max is one of the most natural talents he's ever seen, and he drove against Schumacher (and beat him on track more often than people think) and Lewis, and literally took Senna's seat. He knows what he's talking about.
@@Achilles053 sorry for the delay, I'm just rewatching because I'm bored lol. What a great video! Thank you!! I'll never understand though, why Singapore is considered controversial. A guy went from p8 to lap down by no fault of his own, fought back to p8 on a street circuit and the team has the audacity to demand for him to let Carlos through? I would be furious. If Carlos was so much faster, he could have overtaken him himself. And well, this is why Max is Max and Carlos is number 2.
They tell him to let him through for numerous reasons such as: Tire degradation by battling each other and also max holding up carlos lost him time that he could be doing by catching up to the other cars.
@@clips_highlightss again. Car did not start. Not his fault. Went from lap down to p8. On a street circuit. Not just any street circuit. One of the most physically exhausting races on the calendar. Still 17 years old (the race was on sep 20). Just second year of single seaters. He deserved that p8. I can't imagine any real racer, a real athlete giving that hard earned p8 to anyone, especially on a team order. We are not talking about last year's situation when every point counted. We are talking about a junior team, whose role is to help young drivers, asking their youngest driver that just performed a little miracle to give it away just because. And even if we are talking about last year. If, by some miracle, Checo was ahead of Max in Mexico, as a Max fan, I would not understand team orders also. There're times, purely from human side of things, when it's unacceptable.
Max and Charles are very close in age, and their careers started at a similar time. But with competitive cars Max has the edge because he has more experience and many pundits saying he's becoming a mature driver. That's the benefit you get from being in F1 from age 17.
And its not easy to gain that experience. Look at stroll, he came into f1 at 18 having skipped f2 after a dominant f3 season and he's nowhere near imporoved to what he was 2 years ago.
not just experience. his raw talent is higher than Charles. Max won everything as a kid. Charles didnt win many. theres a good video comparing their careers from karting days to now. Max is a level above any driver on the grid. possibly the greatest driving talent there has ever been.
I started really watching F1 about 5 years ago and was immediately drawn to and became a fan of Red Bull. There’s something about a scrappy energy drink company going toe to toe with the worlds biggest/fastest car manufacturers that really drew me in. Max was still so young but I knew deep down he was going to do big and amazing things if Red Bull ever got their shit together, and then THEY DID, and it’s giving me such satisfaction/reward for following them so closely from when they were struggling to now competing for championships again. Go BULLS!
I became a new fan last year and was drawn to Red Bull for the exact same reasons. Max is FIERCE. I’ve watched all the races back to 2007 now (when I find a sport to cheer for, I COMMIT lol) and F1 was turning into a gentleman’s sport where you passed either on the DRS straights or with the pit strategy. Max nearly single handedly brought back ferocious wheel to wheel racing, and now the cars match his style! He’s been in beast mode this year and would be far ahead had it not been for his car deciding to go on strike…twice. And Checo is a fantastic driver and teammate but people forget he’s also got a race more than Max completed due to less reliability problems, so you have to look harder at the data to see just how strong Max is this year. I think he’s even stronger than last year and he will win the championship as long as his reliability issues are done with.
I am 26 myself and I can say that Max is the best F1 driver that i've seen. And I've seen Michael Schumacher dominate the entire formula 1 grid. Back in the day I used to worship Michael. Not saying Max is better than Michael, but certainly he is the best right now. If he keeps getting a competent enough car he'll be winning most of the times.
Being able to score points at 17 in your 2nd ever F1 race just shows the raw talent max possess. Now, he’s turned that talent into consistency. He’s driven much smarter this year than with Lewis last season. Good to see him mature. Although I liked mad max trying to fight Ocon and sh*t 😆
He definitely is 23 race wins which puts him 12th all time tied with coincidentally his girlfriends father Nelson Piquet and Nico.. oh and 63 podiums and one WDC… a few more wins he’s in the top ten all time… Just think if Red Bull would of a had the car to rival Mercedes week in and week out his first few years…

I was just wondering about this. But I feel just like Nico, I don't think it would've worked out between the two of them. Given how competitive Max is, I don't think he would've been happy and content playing the wingman for more than two seasons. So even if Max went with Mercedes, he eventually would have ended up back with RedBull eventually. That's what I feel a realistic scenario would have been.

Max is a true entertainer! Since he entered F1, there has never been a dull race. Max is mentally incredibly strong, especially knowing the fact that he entered F1 when he was 17 and how many opinions from so many people, positive or negative, have been about him and about his driving style. I just hope he will also do Indy500 and LeMans. Racing is much more than just F1…
At the age of 24, Max is already by a huge margin the best F1 racing driver ever under the Dutch flag. But also growing up here in Holland. Max to me seems just like all the other kids I know growing up here, whom some might enjoy sports and gaming ... and be gawddamn competitive about all of it, while trying to have fun doing it and make a job out of it and what makes you wanna come out the bed for every single day at whatever time necessary doing whatever necessary to keep it going and see where it goes.
I became a Max fan when I was in high school watching someone almost my exact age driving for TR. Id been a fan before but when he joined I dove much, much deeper into F1
Max is a different breed of driver, there is no fear or pressure for him. On his first race for Redbull, he did win. Than later in Brazil he showed that he's on a complete different level with the skills he has than almost any racing driver in history.
I can't say I'm his biggest fan but seeing how good he is to win 10 races in 2021 as and have 18 podiums was impressive. Also he seems to be cool and collected in 2022. Providing he can have a competitive car he can blow Lewis's records away and I'm a Lewis fab. However he has so much young talent competing against him it's going to make F1 epic for the next decade and that could curtail his dominance.
@@joineralbert2493 I hope Checo can win a WDC, maybe next year, I’m sure that Max will happily move out of the way and help Checo but these first years you need to make sure they understand you are not a 2nd driver, no need for that anymore 😉

Max 2015 Monaco race was actually quiet good. He had a few good overtakes and had bad luck during his pitstop. The crash happened because Grosjean braked a lot earlier at Sante Devoite than the lap before. This caught Max out, who was pushing hard to get the overtake done. Pure the fact that he was actually going for overtakes at Monaco showed that he was a great driver in the making.
Thanks Aldas for this highly entertaining work, detailing one of the most outstanding young Racers ever. Like with many others, Max is the reason I went back to watching F1 again and got totally absorbed by his driving and his courageous outspoken nature. He's a fighter in the true sense of the word, and to cap it, he is ALWAYS totally on it. He's a modern hero, a great example of intent, discipline, courage and application. And I like him too! I also want to add that Jos, his Dad, did a fantastic job in training and coaching Max and sacrificing many years for Max, not to mention the fortune he spend. Jos could have been much bigger in F1 too, but He never was in the right team at the right time. But boy, did he do well with Max. I wish them both all the success and happiness in the World, and Max' Mum too, Who, I have no doubt, also contributed hugely to Max' success. God speed to all of them.
I’ve been watching F1 since the late eighties. Uncle and nephew were huge fans and introduced me into the sport at a young age. Seen the likes of Hill, Mansell, Lauda, Prost, Senna, Piquet. Lost interest for a bit until 1995 were I started karting on a national level and from then on was hooked. Watched every race, liked the qualifying format - one lap, one chance and was in awe seeing Micheal squeezing everything out of his car weekend after weekend. Rooted for Hakkinen however mainly due to his helmet design - weird reason but whatever. Lost interest again after 2004 season. Watched occasionally mainly to see Young Kimi driving for the sake of driving. No bullshit, no feks given. Everything changed in 2014 when Verstappen was announced as Torro Rosso’s driver for the 2015 season. Watched every race and was honoustly perplexed of this then 17 year old. What an incredible sensation. Couldn’t believe the things he pulled off at such an young age. Brasil 2016 remains forever the all time favourite race for me. Never did I ever see anything remotely similar in all of the years watching F1. Don’t think it will ever be matched by anyone other then the man himself - if any. We’re watching a legend in the making, and I’m glad I’m able to witness it. I honoustly believe we will be talking about him in 30 years time as the G.O.A.T. Like we are talking about Schumi and Senna nowadays.

Max can dominate in the next years. You can see clearly his evolution from a reckless boy to a mature racing driver. More and more people are starting to like him because they see that Max brings "fire" in the sport. I remember watching 2019 season and I didn't care about the Championship (merc was so clear with that car), only for the midfield battles of Max and Charles. People are saying that this year is boring and I'm like ARE YOU NUTS? Have you watched f1 before 2021 because these were some really really boring years

It's crazy to think that at 24.. Verstappen is already a veteran of the sport in his 8th season already.. in context Ricciardo is in his 12th.. and it seems he has been there for ages...
if it wasn't for mercedes having a far more dominant car than the rest of the field post-2014 he would've easily been challenging for the title back then
It’s crazy how long he’s already been in F1 and how long he has left. He could easily be the driver with the most races one day. And could have most championships if he wins half the ones he competes in going forward
let's hope he dosn't get burned out after passing 30 years old...

He's pretty much the reason I started watching F1 again since Michael Schumacher retired.
Max Verstappen is the reason i start rewatching F1!
Max will be listed already as one of F1's greatest drivers
He definitely is 23 race wins which puts him 12th all time tied with coincidentally his girlfriends father Nelson Piquet and Nico.. oh and 63 podiums and one WDC… a few more wins he’s in the top ten all time… Just think if Red Bull would of a had the car to rival Mercedes week in and week out his first few years…
@@Jrh-rp7np Fully agreed although we can't really compare his wins to someone like Piquet, because of how many races there are nowadays. Still, in my humble opinion he's perhaps the greatest talent in F1 history, up there with Schumi and Senna.
One more title or 2, then yeah he will be in my top 10. And that's coming from a 15-year Red Bull fan.
@@rongiefaustino8867 That's fair. I think he'll get them for sure however
@@Jrh-rp7np 'Just think if Red Bull would of a had the car to rival Mercedes week in and week out his first few years…' he wouldnt be anywhere near given how many mistakes he used to make dude. It really is incredible how dumb people are. the fact he had the fastest car last year but only won because of you know who, that doesn't really do much for your argument.
Alonso the absolute legend. Hope Max bought him a beer!
Awesome video! You should do a video of all his recent seasons on how much he’s improved since his rookie season 😀
The best F1 driver on the grid, by far, no doubt. A true living legend.
I've been waiting for this video ever since I subscribed to your channel. The epitome of natural talent, what he achieved and continues to achieve despite his young age is nothing less than remarkable.
You’re watching history in the making every time you see Verstappen drive.
I love this comment so much.
Every time he is about to get into his car I get butterflies in my stomach. This season after 2 mechanical DNFs, they were quick to say that there has been no driver in history who has ever recovered such points deficit to win a championship. Well, we might watching history unfolding right before our eyes.

Pure racing talent and focus. This man deserves a few more World Championships.
Im just happy im watching F1 for over 20 years and have experienced Mika, Schumi, Alonso, Seb, Lewis and now Max.
This sport never stops giving.

Max became my favourite driver after the 2019 Austria GP. I loved his aggression and no feks given. I was over the moon when he won in Abu Dhabi. #SUPERMAX
Max and Alonso drive very similar, sad how Riccardo fell behind it's like he lost his mojo
You and me both, I was screaming my head off at the tv screen and jumping around like a fool.
i'm his age when he JOINED f1 and i only started WATCHING it this year lol. that's insane.
I started watching and learning things about F1 just bcoz of him.
His confidence and determination really boost me up in real life.
Just imagine if Max actually signed with Mercedes, we could have potentially had Lewis and Max as teammates in 2017 after Nico's retirement
That would've prematurely ended Lewis's career.
The last few years of Lewis' career would have been turned unside down.
@@tylerdurden3722 i don't think Lewis would have found it difficult to beat a guy who spent half his time in the barriers........lol. given Lewis beat him last year with a slower car shows Max still has a long way to go.
@@ddha0000 You mean the season in which Verstappen lead 652 race laps as opposed to Lewis' 297? The season in which Verstappen scored 10 pole positions as opposed to Lewis' 5? You mean the season in which Verstappen set the all time record for number of podium finishes? You mean the season in which Verstappen became first or second EVERY race apart from the races where others rammed him or his tire blew up? You mean the season in which Verstappen became world champion and beat Lewis in the constructors championship winning car? Get real dude. Lewis was beaten fair and square.

I love max so so much, He proved himself. Considering the things he went through lets be honest were pretty rough his childhood specifically. He's just such a good soul. His charisma, confidence and ability to push through anything is what makes me love him. and so many more reasons
I didn't start watching till 2018, didn't know anything. By the end of the year I was saying " I think Max is gonna be the next one to win it all, he impresses me every single race" lol I was right
Max is the reason I got back into formula 1 I heard about this 20 year old on f1 who was fast I started to watch him and I knew from a eye test "he going to be a champ I got to watch this kid" and I'm back to being a regular fan
Same here…came to the party for Max, stayed for Max.
Knew Max was going to win a WDC from the 1st ever time I saw him back in 2015 in his 1st ever practice.
@@mamavswild Ditto
I remember Malaysia 2015. I met him just before the race and he was a really chill guy who was suprised to Dutch fans in Malaysia. This guy overtook a Red Bull and managed to finish in P7 as a 17 year old.
Max is a true entertainer! Since he entered F1, there has never been a dull race. Max is mentally incredibly strong, especially knowing the fact that he entered F1 when he was 17 and how many opinions from so many people, positive or negative, have been about him and about his driving style. Personally, I believe he is extremely talented and surrounded with the right people protecting him and providing him with a fast car. Hence, I honestly believe he will become very successful. I just hope he will also do Indy500 and LeMans. Racing is much more than just F1…
The fact that Marko offerd Max an f1 seat and Jos basicly said no, he said that if they we're gonna do it we're doing it for two years at least
The man, the myth, the legend, he will go down as one of the all time greats, I’m sure
The NO was for one reason, Max had discussed that scenario with Jos and it was to make sure they never ask you again. very nice video
Yes , you have to establish your status . Look at David Coulthard , Melbourne 98 (?) . Never recovered from that.
@@joineralbert2493 I hope Checo can win a WDC, maybe next year, I’m sure that Max will happily move out of the way and help Checo but these first years you need to make sure they understand you are not a 2nd driver, no need for that anymore 😉
amazing video!
I was impressed when he joined F1 by his age but like alonso I waited and end up saying give him a better car he can fight for championship
I think most people underestimate how well prepared he was
I mean his father knew how F1 is and prepared him
it's not about age but how well prepared you are
I remember his first few interviews and you’re right he always seemed like he knew what he was getting into
I saw max once he got in f1 on the toro roso. I became a believer, a fan and cheerleader after the first time he drove the redbull. For me max made f1 great again.
Imo If he retires tomorrow he is top 15 of all time, if he wins this year and retires the next one he is top 10 of all time
agreed
And odds are after 10 more years of racing (which is not at all unlikely), unless his career takes a bad turn he'll be in the discussion with lewis, Micheal, senna, etc.
he is already better than prime sebastian who is in the top 10.

Max is definitely the best right now. I'm in love with Leclerc since 2018, but I cannot ignore max. He's the new Senna.
As a Ferrari fan I have a wild dream of Max in red car one day. Just imagine.
Charles is a fantastic talent. Maybe more than Max.
@@Phantom096 I genuinely hope that this season will prove it, but I actually think that Max has a slight edge over Charles, especially with his F1 experience and flawless streak of performances.
These are all the shitfosi. Just only care about the driver in red. Good thing he’s not in Ferrari and demolishing both Ferrari drivers. Hopefully the tifosi can keep crying for years to come 🤣 winless since 08 😂
@@Phantom096 very nice you think this way, but talent when you lose the last two races thanks to driver errors? And Charles is no all condition driver, when it rains he slams the car in the wall, the way he kept spinning the car in wet conditions this season at Imola.... That is not maybe more than Max, that is less than Max. I rate George and Lando higher in pure talent than Charles.
@@Dorfus2323 Charles needs to be more aggressive against Max that’s true. Charles has proven he is super fast specially in qualifying. He needs to hold on to the lead and fight Max harder.
Imagine Max having a top 2 or top 1 car in those early seasons 🤯🤯🤯🤯
His 2020 performances were top class to go against two Mercedes beats that were virtually unbeatable.
70th anniversary gp was very special
Max 2015 Monaco race was actually quiet good. He had a few good overtakes and had bad luck during his pitstop. The crash happened because Grosjean braked a lot earlier at Sante Devoite than the lap before. This caught Max out, who was pushing hard to get the overtake done. Pure the fact that he was actually going for overtakes at Monaco showed that he was a great driver in the making.
Good memory, i remember this breaking earlier then the lap before from Grosjean as well.
Karts to F1 in 2 years is just ridiculous, such a talent.
Crazy that he has been in F1 before having driving license 😂
German gp 2019 , it was the first race I've watched. Everyone was aquaplaning but this guy was flying
I was an early critic of max, but he is genuinely one of the most entertaining drivers to watch
Imagine if he had had a 2021 or 2022 level car during the seasons between 2015-2020, his stats would probably be even better
The way Max took advantage of getting blue flagged to overtake cars ahead in Monaco 2015 can never be forgotten!!
15:59 thats the mentality of a sportsman who wants to win.
Cause people who say playing/joining is more fun then winning. Have never won something 👌🏻.
More people should have his mentality, the world would look so much better with people in the world like that.
Have you watched f1 before 2021 because these were some really really boring years
it is boring. LeClerc aint good enough and the RB is so much faster. lets face it, the only thing that can save it is if Merc sort their problems out so Lewis can take the fight to him, otherwise, you will have another 2019.
@@ddha0000 Charles is absolutely brilliant driver and Ferrari didn't bring upgrades yet. Lewis is nowhere to be seen so😂

Love him or hate him, it's incredible to watch a legend making history.
