That is exactly what I said off camera. And hear me out, what if you don’t do your own work and you take your vehicle to a shop to have them replace your inner & outer tie rods. How would they know the inners have to be trimmed? And if you didn’t install the lift yourself you may not know either, that could become very expensive and a big headache.
I agree with you 100% I do all my own work but I thought the same thing. I’m not sure if it’s because the location of the tie rod on the knuckle hits the wheel or not. I still feel like it’s a design flaw.
See the stock knuckle doesn’t cause that problem and nothing gets changed besides moving the UCA up, LCA down and the wheel hub down. I feel like it is a flaw as well, someone else mentioned RC on this body style is similar but also that BDS doesn’t have to do that. Maybe it’s just the “cheaper” brands.
I have the same lift, but I love it but don't remember having as many issues lol. And yes the cutting and rethreading the tie rod was weird but worked.
IMO I would have went with BDS 8” over Super Lift. Too much work for the tie rods compared to BDS. Better built and warranty is awesome. May have had to wait a bit longer for the lift unless it’s in stock. How’s the tires holding up? Couple friends of mine ran those tires and they wore out uneven (even after having their alignments checked)
My bad, i always looked up lift kits for 4wd because of my truck. I figured they would have one for 2wd also. I’m curious how the ride quality is with the 8” Super Lift. Going with Bilstein shocks or King?
@@pat14lang actually I’m going with neither.. I ordered the 8 in superlift with upgraded fox coilovers. It’s on 8 week back order. But I’ve already paid for it and set up the install at local shop near me since I work damn near all day all week. Thinking about starting a channel for my truck with my upgrades and what I plan on doing in the future. Most of what I’ve done so far I’ve done on my own just haven’t recorded it haha. Gotta get on this RUclips alga rhythm to make me some more 💰
Why buy a Mcgaughys 😂😂 Mcgaughys only has 7 inch diff drop brackets the superlift has 8 inch ones. You’ll have better angles on the superlift. Leave it to the pros that started the lift game 😂😂
Do I have to buy shruts and control arms? Or can I use the ones she has?
I got one brand new fury 35 13.50 r 24 just sitting. On the porch if he needs a spare
Unfortunately he took them to get balanced and not a single tire would balance out.
@@AaronCates man that sucks
Superlift sounds like what the legendary BIGFOOT the truck of ST. LOUIS MO.
RC has you cut both inner and outer tie rods 3/8”.
I can’t believe that.. why not just make the spindle different. Does not make sense.
I thought it was a bit strange too because now you have to cut your new tire rods if you replace them down the road.

On the tie rod, for future help just grind the tie rod so it’s a smaller diameter and then use the dye
Nothing like taking 2-3 hours on what should be a simple process made fucking impossible by manufacturers
Dude u went to so much trouble into that lift I gave u 2 thumbs up brother.
Are yall using cutting oil while trying to screw that die on?
Spray some WD-40 on it, just about the same thing.
did your buddy’s lift kit come with both front and rear shocks ?
It re uses the stock struts in the front but comes with new rear shocks.
Love my Mcgaugheys 9inch 💯
You definitely deserve more subscribers man looks killer!
Thanks man! With time it will come.
Yea buddy of mine has a 14 4wd 6” bds don’t remember any talk about tierod

Bds doesn’t make 8 in lift for 2wd.. if they did I would’ve bought it myself.. taking my fabtech 6 in off and putting 8 in superlift on mine.

What is your favorite lift ?
Should have bought a 7-9 Mcgaughs
I would have but they were supposedly 8 months out because of material shortage
