Nesta Carter was so important to the Jamaicans. He gave the team breathing room to make safe exchanges while the other teams were over striding, trying to keep up. He is truly one of the greatest and one of the most underrated sprinters.

I love that everyone in the comments is giving Yohan the credit he deserves. Can see hardly any comments for Bolt. Respect Yohan. You practically ran sideways around that bend! 👏
Yohan was indeed the 2nd fastest sprinter before his big injury in 2014 & for me on the bend he was the quickest (marginally than Bolt on the bend) but Yohan even during his peak he just doesn't have the natural extra dash in himself compared to Bolt Bolt is the most complete well rounded sprinter while Yohan is the toughest competitor & 2nd fastest men (i think he was quicker than Tyson & Gatlin)
I know Yohan Blake's bend is the most talked about point in this race but for me it is Ryan Bailey putting in his 200% and still failing to catch Usain Bolt.
I was actually vary impressed by Bailey. Usually Usain bolt pulls away but allot more but Ryan Bailey actually did very well against bolt. His top speed is ridiculous.
I keep watching Blake’s leg - just incredible - his lower centre of gravity helping absolutely blitz the bend to then hand it to Bolt who beat the American Bailey as if he was an also ran - an athlete who qualified for the Olympics 100 metres with a time of 9.88 is just mind blowing!!!
Blake is the MVP of this match, he was the one who helped Jamaica outrun America and then Bolt ran his best and made the world record. Mad respect to both of them.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nick DeVita I don't know if it was so much that Bolt was pulling away as he had the baton first and and started his sprinting phases earlier. As you know there is not much you can do until you get the baton and if you start pushing to early the person passing it to you can't catch up. Baily obviously got beat but Baily held his own.. plumeria66 Very dead comment thread, but this isn’t always the case. Check out the 3k steeple from 2016, Evan Jager was extremely happy lol
But the worst place to get is fourth. Can you imagine being one place away from an Olympic medal?
Ha wrong
APPLE SEEDS 360 the worst thing that can happen is what happened to Husillos last year tho. He won the world championship with NR AR and WL and he was disqualified for almost not touching the line
I remember Jimmy Fallon saying that Silver is worst that Bronze because with a bronze medal you can pretend it’s gold with its similar color scheme and say “It’s Gold Ladies 😏.” What a funny guy
Listen
I will never get tired of watching this. Bolt killed this as usual but I loved that Blake got a gold for this because his performance was phenomenal.
I'm USA all the way, but when I saw that smooth handoff to Blake, I shook my head and I knew what was going to happen. Much respect to Team Jamaica! Best Men's race ever!
Agreed but Usain had to run the way he did because USA Ryan Bailey pushed him really hard. The USA ran the world record Usain broke on the night, they ran their socks off so I appreciate their effort too 👏🏾
@@BelleSebbboth teams were insane.
Thank you for gracious comments Jackbo ..Jamaican here. Sometimes I find it sad when there seems to be conflict between Jamaican and American Athletes. I have grown up being very proud of all that American athletes have achieved. There needs to be healthy competition but also healthy respect.. we are proud of you and you should be proud of us..
This is the best Olympic of all time,2024 and still watching it 🔥
Blake's leg was easily the best, set up Bolt ftw

It's only because he had the corner?
They were already leading....

Exactly, however my country not taken Gold 😢 London 2012 is amazing with crowd and some many great athlete ❤
Best Olympics hands down! That’s what made me leave Canada, move to the UK and study event management
Athens 2004 was better.
Ej Guerrouj getting gold in the 1500 m and 5000 m was terrific
London was not the best, Beijing 4 years earlier was.
It's funny how other countries forget their own Athletes when Usain Bolt starts running.... Greatest of all time who's watching in 2021😂
He might be a shmuck. He likes hogging spotlite for self. Hardley acknowlege. Blake n others. When he got dusted he pretend he injured. Act like he did it alone.

damn Blake tore up that 3rd leg, his leg was insane wow
He was the reason they won in my opinion
+Emmanuel ya got that right they might as well give Blake a gold medal called the reason they broke the record
He was magnificent!!
Blake and Bolt are the reason the record was broken, it wouldn't have happened without the other. But Dude even if Bolt was 5-7m behind he still would have won.
ik his run was mad he got them back in it
Having Blake and Bolt to do your last 2 legs is like playing the Olympics with a cheat code.
The real mvp was the coach who organized the leg order he knew who to put where
Baron Gueye so true. Race looked competitive until Yohan got the baton. It was the beginning of the end for everyone else

This is the absolutely most amazing relay. Yohan Blake ran a blazing leg.

Jamaica: That's cute.

Where is Jamaica in 2019? lol! the USA will break that, fool!

I honestly think that this world record might just never be broken again.
Only one day by Aliens my friend !
Yeah, you’ll need the perfect combo of very fast runners, which is hard to come by at the same time.
It’s possible but may not be for a while.
True dat
I'm very happy to see in this comment section Yohan taking the recognition he deserves, I hope he somehow sees it one day, really incredible!!
I can never get tired of this race. I miss this U.S.-Jamaica rivalry.
Great. The huge selection base the US v the high quality that comes from Jamaica. Always going to be a great one.
It's freaking wild that this happened in 2012 and here we all are, still losing our minds over it. Absolutely awesome...
That’s the beauty of the Olympics.
A rare event in world history where we’re all united for the same cause
11 years on and still no team comes close to beating it
This is one record I can safely say will never be broken. Bolt & Blake in the same team, unstoppable. The 2 fastest men we’ve ever seen over the 100m & 200m. 36.84 is absolutely unreal!
Bolt's parents must have been time travelers to give him that name
Lol
Speedsters can time travel so..
same with mo'farah, the winner of the marathon can't remember when
Lol he’s name is Usain
“Dis boy looks FAST. Honey whacha think?”
Yohan Blake ran an insane leg!
Imagine training your whole life to become one of the fastest people ever, getting the baton in first place and sprinting as hard as possible, then watching usain bolt cruise past you
He would have expected it, he knew who was next to him...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Definitely did not get the baton in first place
Not sure if you are making reference to the race above but Blake handed the baton to Bolt first.
@@keemo8330 But the US hand off was smoother
I'm proud to share blood, heritage and history with the peculiar people of Jamaica.
Nesta Carter was so important to the Jamaicans. He gave the team breathing room to make safe exchanges while the other teams were over striding, trying to keep up. He is truly one of the greatest and one of the most underrated sprinters.
Agreed!
he burden the long run in the team he run almost 110m and almost 2nd runner experience that. it's a part of a plan
and he cheated :)
The medicine he took in 2008 was not prohibited at that time. After months the medicine was put into the prohibited list. So I think that he is not on purpose since Jamaica could win without any medicines at that time obviously.@@matveymitsik1707

Hold on hold on, if you pay attention to the time that Bolt got the baton you'll see that it's about 28.4 seconds, he finished at 36.84, so...that means bolt ran his leg in like 8 seconds, that insane
Maximillian Ullstrom yes I did see that! Unreal
He had a running start. Makes a big difference from standing.
Each leg avg 9.2 secs. Forget about a running start! These speeds are incredible. Evolution at it's finest before our eyes.
@@deonmorris5934 err, that's not really 'evolution'. Yea it's evolution that we got to this point but these people are fast because they train and push their body's to the limit. We're not really made to sprint
I'm not sure, perhaps it could be angular acceleration. There's a difference between running on the straight line and curved line. The velocity changes in angular motion, because the displacement changes. This is my opinion, I could be wrong
Who heard when the commentator said “at this stage I don’t know who came third”😂😂😂😂😂 killed me
I went back to rewind the race and still can't see who came in 3rd lol
Me either..lol
Canada got third place but no one was really paying attention to that... let’s be honest everyone was watching Jamaica vs USA lol
The announcer is a twat.
The commentator is a comedian
I love that everyone in the comments is giving Yohan the credit he deserves. Can see hardly any comments for Bolt. Respect Yohan. You practically ran sideways around that bend! 👏
Yohan was indeed the 2nd fastest sprinter before his big injury in 2014 & for me on the bend he was the quickest (marginally than Bolt on the bend) but Yohan even during his peak he just doesn't have the natural extra dash in himself compared to Bolt
Bolt is the most complete well rounded sprinter while Yohan is the toughest competitor & 2nd fastest men (i think he was quicker than Tyson & Gatlin)
I know Yohan Blake's bend is the most talked about point in this race but for me it is Ryan Bailey putting in his 200% and still failing to catch Usain Bolt.
Haha
Bollocks!! Give the Jamaican his due.
Hahahahahah bawling 😭 hahahaha
Bailey wasn't that far off. After Bailey, everyone else was at least 20 yards back.
I was actually vary impressed by Bailey. Usually Usain bolt pulls away but allot more but Ryan Bailey actually did very well against bolt. His top speed is ridiculous.
Blake ran so fast he could barely open his eyes from all that head wind hitting his face.
🤣‼️
💀💀
That Blake leg will go down in history. Could watch this race over n over again!
These Jamaican men... born to run, especially short distance

Yohan ate Tyson"s lunch on that 3rd leg. That was a brilliant run by Blake

I think yohan blake brought it home for jamaica, he ran the 3rd leg very fast
Yess he did if he didn't do great USA should have won good job Yohan even tho he is in the shadow of usain
emmanuel kamara Not really in his shadow, given he has the 2nd fastest times in history in both the 100 and 200m.
december akins Without a doubt, Jamaica was behind the US and Blake brought them even and Bolt finished by pulling away
december akins I agree...He ran sub 9 on that leg but wasn't mentioned...
That Jamaican team is a Beast!!!

The uptight English didn't want to give him the baton that he wanted for breaking the world record smh
it's against the rules you'll get disqualified if you don't hand it back, also i know they guy he starts of my races 😂
Very pathetic ..the official should have handed it over to mr bolt..he is a world record holder.
