      You need to watch the heats of the 2009 world championships. Bolt literally looked like he was taking a stroll in the park while everyone else was 20-30 meters behind him killing themselves to catch up. I've never seen anything like it before. Don't think I'll ever see anything like it again in my lifetime

      That has ALWAYS been my problem with Bolt...he rarely pushed himself to his MAX capacity. Could he have run a 9.50 or a 9.49? Perhaps...but we will never know, and it irks me that we can't know the human potential. So as far as I'm concerned he is the most talented lazy sprinter there ever was...

      Fred Ball you know trying too hard can result in running slower at times.

    • @allfiner
      @allfiner 6 лет назад +15

      @@NextGenJay No, Fred Ball doesn't know that. If he did, he wouldn't be running his mouth talking nonsense. As everyone in sprinting knows, the more relaxed a sprinter is, the faster his times. But what Fred wants to see is Bolt grimacing and straining to prove that he's giving it his all. He wants visual proof of effort or else he will be called lazy by some nobody who doesn't know what he's talking about. It's not a coincidence that the more relaxed Bolt looks and acts before and during a race, the faster his times are. All the times when we see Bolt doing what Fred wants to see, his times are slower. Ato Boldon pointed this out before, how sprinters are taught to relax as much as possible, but then they'd get to the line and tense up. That maybe if they'd all been doing what Bolt did, they'd have had faster times.

      With the beastly start he had here, maybe around 9.51 or 9.49 if he didn't slow down, he was on track to beat his 2009 record

    The 2012 Olympics, & the incredible ease of running 100m w/in the 9.8s… this alone to witness is golden! Especially now 12 years later heading into the 2024 Olympics as the best run at full tilt to reach 9.8s & may possibly tip 9.7s. Ha! The 2012 Olympics was one of kind!

    To a certain exten. Watching the heats and the semis, I knew it had to be between Bolt and Blake. Gatlin and Gay weren't the big threats as was touted or that I thought they would be. But I did know that all that was needed was a really poor start from Bolt (which since it was Bolt was entirely possible) for Blake to get it. Then I saw the times in the finals and realized, all of them could have run their PB's and still not won. Bolt didn't even have to equal his PB to win. That says it all.

    Adam Gemili did very well to finish 3rd in his race, for quite a lot of the race it looked like most, if not all racers were ahead of him and he beat about 4 runners in like the last 10 metres. Wasn't far away from making the Olympic final at the age of 18 but certainly looks a promising prospect for the years ahead.

      if you look closely at 4:39-4:40 and 4:53-5:00 you can see he eases up on his run and DOESN'T DIP FOR THE FINISH LINE.. He's standing straight up as he crosses the finish line and not leaning/dipping like the other runners and at 4:54 you can see he's looking at the clock and not paying attention to the other runners
