After Blake's race at 03:42 Blake was causally walking off the field while Lemaitre and the Norwegian looked like they both contracted ASTHMA!! What a difference of fitness!!!
Imagine training hard your entire life, then qualifying for the olympics. Your dreams of arriving at the olympics have come true. You’re an elite now. You line up, hear the gun go off. You run as hard and as fast as you can, just like you’ve trained to do. Only to LITERALLY watch Bolt JOG away from you 😂 11:19
no it doesn't lol. come on, you know why they do it, its to say"Look how fast i am, i can slow down and still win while these guys are gunning for it" XD kinda douchy but oh well
No. And despite what a couple people said defending it, most track coaches hate when their runners do it. I ran track in both high school and college, and slowing down was something i had a habit of doing when i knew i had a race won. The 200 was my best race and i would slow down when i was far enough ahead and it drove my sprint coach in college crazy! He literally yelled at me a couple of times until he was red in the face to stop doing it. If i did i would have to do extra conditioning the next practice. A lot of sprint coaches feel like even if you have a race won, that you should at least try to improve on your time as much as possible, so slowing down is pointless to them. But i guess when you are a world-class sprinter like these guys are then you can get away with it. But despite what people may tell you, no, slowing down really does not save that much energy.
Rogene Roper no not really, its more of a psychological thing. It strikes fear in the other sprinters as they think 'woah he must be really fast when he tries' thats what i think anyway lol and you dont want to let the cat out of the bag too early so they save their best performance for the final
I hate the new false start rules. The first false start use to get charged to the field and the second was a disqualification. Now you are done after just one false start.
Yea. I think they should go back to the old rules because some people false start just because it's so nerve-racking and stressful. I mean, they're competing on the biggest stage in the world. Cut them some slack.
Bolt had sufficient top speed to jog through the final but Blake obviously didn’t have enough, he almost blew it! Good he was able to jog like bolt and win lol
Lol people think the guys running behind Bolt are pretty close, but its only cuz he let them. He didn't care as long as he gets the win for the auto Q (:
@Zayne simard moore “the stupid rule” has actually been changed twice. Before 2003, every athlete had two chances of false start. In 2003, because of the rampant false starts that wastes everyone’s time, they changed it to, if anyone false starts, then everyone gets a warning, and whoever did it the second time gets dq. But still, many athletes take a risk to false start. Either they get away with it and be like 0.02 seconds faster, or they get caught and get a warning and simply restart, they have nothing to lose. That’s why in 2009, the rule changed to whoever false starts gets disqualified immediately.
@@glenxoseph yeah i remember the change in 2003. John drummond of the USA got dq in the rounds in the wc in paris. And he caused a scene claiming he didnt move and wouldnt leave the track. 🤣
