Thank you for the video! Looking into getting a AP for my MS6, once I get the timing fixed. It was a check the gas and fill the oil car before head work.
Very Helpful! I am new to the car tuner world with a 2017 STI and this video has really helps you understand the features of the Cobb access port and functionality.
Just bought the AP for my 2015 WRX from you, can't wait to have your tune and try it!
Considering I just bought everything for stage 2+ for my 2017 WRX STI from MAPerformance, Thank you.
I really enjoyed this video and I am sure I will be watching many more while I wait for my parts to come!
Glad you enjoyed it!
WOW that was a great video! answered so many of my questions! thanks for putting that out there. Solid job!
Ugh ,thanks so much for making this video ! I learned a ton . I just bought a 06 wrx limited , and it came with a Cobb AP and I have never used one before . Thanks so much!
That’s why I’m here lol
I'm running stage 2 Plus that was tuned on a four-wheel dynamometer and have had no issues so far. By so far I mean my 2002 WRX has 209k miles on it. Still fun to drive and is perfectly reliable. I daily it almost an hour to work every day. However I also take good care of my car. I don't put cheap oil in it, I use good oil and air filters, and I make sure to change the oil sooner rather than later.
Very informative video. Answered all of the important questions. Thank you very much.
I’m so excited for the 2020 ots from you guys! Can’t wait ! Lol
Thanks RPL!!
Excellent video. You answered all of my questions. I am new to Accessport ownership and find it slightly confusing. Keep the videos going, this is why I continue to order from you.
Thank you! Glad to hear it and glad to have you as a customer.
Did you go stage 1? Any issues at ALL?
@@dnawrapsatl if they are just cobb's stage 1&2 base maps, they are usually safe grounds. I wouldnt worry about close calls unless your tapping into the 20 psi territory on the stock turbo more often than one should.. I mean, the stock transmission will slowly start to fail at 400 whp while the stock piston rods ALSO fail at 400 hp territory so.... theres not even a point in trying to go beyond stage 2 bcs if im correct, stage 3 asks for a bigger turbo but then youll also need forged rods that will hold above 400 hp and yet again your transmission is still limited to 400 awhp sooo.... if you DID achieve above 400hp territory youd best drive it with lots of love.
@@AutoBodyEverything car hits 21psi stock
Awesome vid...
Very detailed...
Keep it up
bought my accessport with you guys. appreciate Q&A
VW GTI TCR is a great example that the engine's can do more. Not to mention the EA888 can clearly pump out more power as demonstrated by the Golf R.
Great video, thanks for this!
Nicely done. Been running map intake and it sounds great especially with all the mods! I highly recommend I don’t know any other ones with velocity stack
Thanks! Glad to hear it. Velocity stack FTW!
im not sure how someone can dislike this viedo. It was very helpful and full of information
Jordan Monocon honda people dont like subaru😂 Im looking to go stage 1 this summer.
LOL @ 17:05. It happens to me too bro..trying to be smart XD
btw, just wanted to say - Best video on COBB AP! Good job man/p!
Omg life saver! 😂 I absolutely couldn’t figure out how to adjust the monitor displays
Glad we could help!
Thanks so much for posting this video! Audi guy here but same questions
Glad it was helpful!
i love the butal honesty lol thankyou for the awesome video. that said i have one thing to correct you.
I work for a dealership. There is no such thing as voiding a warranty. A claim can be refused but everything else not pertaining to the failed part will still be covered under factory warranty.
sariah reigns wrong! Subaru Writes there warranties to allow voiding with specific modifications. “Subaru” doesn’t void the warranty. We willfully void the warranty upon modification. It’s a loop hole
So basically it will void the entire warranty?
Dallas Williams yes basically
Anything power train related
Unless josh carter works at the dealership hes just a keyboard warrior my dealership said the same thing it only voids the part of the car that is modified
Thanks Ian!
a support and push for this channel!1 THUMBS UP
Very helpful video, had an accessport on my old hawkeye and now on my legacy, never knew how to setup the shift light until i watched this. Also kind of a dumb question but i haven't seen any answers on it. On the the startup screen is it possible to use a GIF?
thank yall both for the info! i do want more safe help for my focus RS with full bolt ons
Would love to see a video explaining in detail the 5-way map switching adjustments you can make on Ford Ecoboost using the cruise control buttons.
Several videos mention this feature and show (partially) how the RPM needle indicates the corresponding map; just the basics. But none go in-depth explaining if these can all be custom tunes or they are only pertaining to variations of a single custom tune that is compatible with 5-way switching...
Also, none of the users I observed actually go and confirm via the Cobb V3 Accessport screen to show which "economy map or high performance map" was selected or explained the parameters.
For example can one use the following Cobb OTS tunes in 3 of the 5 maps?
1. Stage 0,
2. Stage 1 91 Oct
3. Stage 1 93 Oct be flashed into any map one desires?
Very helpful video!!!
Wow ! Impressed! Very detailed ! .... i cant believe cobb them selves couldn’t answer that question for me when i first got my AP ... i asked them how and what should i monitor on my ap and what numbers should it be at .... and they denied me because i basically didnt have a cobb brand jpipe ... and till this day ive never logged or understood how to read those numbers ... untill now ... i only knew the basics boost and a/fr and thats it ... thank you very much 👍 greatly appreciated!
Thanks for watching. Information was the goal!!
Royal_Subie Hey Bro, if Cobb gave you any directions on the question you were asking they're afraid they would take liability if something went wrong! Which is another way of saying, they had no fudgen idea!🤣😆😂
Just in case anyone's curious as to tuned reliability...I have an '03 WRX with an HKS turbo back exhaust and a Cobb SF intake and no other engine mods, with a Cobb OTS Stage2 93 Octane map. It's been like this since 2004 and she just turned 258,000 and just started smoking on start up! All original drive train, engine, head gasket etc. I've driven her very hard all her life, road raced regularly...however, always did maintenance in half schedules, synthetic oil at 3,000. Maintenance is your best friend!
Great video!
This is a great video. Thank you!
Fantastic video I learnt a lot
This video made me so happy :)
Watching this after installing my access port on my 2015 Ecoboost Mustang... good thing I didn't have a warranty XD
good topic you could've covered was using aftermarket intakes with the map tune, other than that, video covered everything!
Good one! Certainly depends on which platform. That could probably be it's own video!
This was really helpful much appreciated!
Thanks for watching Luis!
Good video, lots of good information in here. Didn't really feel confident with your answer to the 'does the tune affect engine longevity' question though haha.
Thanks for watching! You will certainly get different answers on that one... Depends on the specific tune, some will hurt and some will help!
How important is having the battery connected to a seperate power source during flashing? Specifically with initial flashes that take longer?
I have the accessport for my 2018 mustang ecoboost but I can't find the DAM , feedback knock, and fine knock learn gauges in the list. My accessport was updated to the latest version 7 days ago when I first installed the tune.
Thanks you were a big help 👍👍👍.
You're very welcome!
Have one on my evo x. Great device. 💪
Great vid. I just got your stage 1 91 tune installed. Is it normal to have air flow learning 1 go into the -12 or -13 range? I noticed it’s not a gauge you tend to monitor. Completely stock with factory air box. Hope this is normal and how u guys designed it. Thanks!
Cheers, thanks for the help :)
Glad it helped!
There is a hidden factory tune when you uninstall it. My car had a tune on it when i bought it but I had a stock engine built n had sensors going off. When I uninstall my accessport it is suppose to install the factory tune, not revert to the custom tune that was previously on it....according to COBB. Just to know
thanks for Info
Is there any way to make reversing tune invisible to dealerships or will they likely pick up on it?
I have a 2015 wrx cvt and I am on the stage 1 and on feed knock learning I got 3.something and one time wild driving got 5.something and where it suppost to be at 1.0 it goes down to .650
1. Will the ots tune work with similar dimension parts that are not Cobb?
2. Is there a round about number of hp that each stage of tune will provide?
3. What specific mods are needed for each stage provided on the accessport?
On a cold start and after warm idle with only a CBE and a Boomba BPV (100% Recirc.) the inj. Duty Cycle sits at 0.45.
Only use 91 COSTCO gas.
GR8GUY54 i swear by costco fuel too. Quiktrip fuel i used to use is garbage...
Great video man. I purchased the MAP stage 1 tune from you guys on a Saturday, I'm assuming since you guys are closed, I won't receive it until Monday?!?! Dude, I'm so anxious! LOL.
Yes typically we aren't working weekends 🤘
Did you get it? Any issues?
How did you buy the MA Performance tune?
can you use different intake with the accessport? or do you have to maf calibrate it manually?
Hey so I have an access port and running cobb ots stage 1 2019 wrx limited. I installed it a couple of weeks ago and I mostly had been getting feedback knock from 0 to - 2.4 but now lately I have been getting 3+ DAM is 1 and real knock is 0 should I be concerned.... Side info weather has been getting a bit cooler.. Thanks in advance
Hello, sir! My car is 2013 Focus ST has the Cobb APV3 ,and @16:30 the gauges , None of them could i find in my AP ,which gauges i should monitor for the healthy of my Ford? Thanks!
are canadian owners under USDM tunes? when installing the accessport using a FOB not a key. after plugging in the accessport, do you push the button, once or twice without foot on brake?
I have a question regarding the check engine lights and more importantly the abs light... after installing this all came on.. the car runs smooths and all but I want at least the abs to work.. so is there a way to turn the light off ? Then also my acessport screen kinda twitches.. not normal im assuming.
If I had a v2 accessport for a 14 wrx will i be able to use that same AP for my Mazdaspeed3? (Its unmarried and uninstalled on the wrx) I might have missed it in the video but just wanted to make sure
Might be a dumb question but i can also disconnect the cable from the car right? And store the AP and the cable in the glovebox or whatever?
I have a aem intake and charge pipe also a 1320 j pipe along with srs axle back delete ohh I forgot to mention that the j pipe is Catted is there a tune for does product and my car is a 2015 wrx limited 2.0 manual turbocharged
Are the Guage data numbers going to be the same for the EJ257? Such as Knock Learn, DAM, Etc?
I have a 2015 STI and I just bought APV3.
What about removing the accessport from your car? Can the dealership see that it had an accessport at one time? I can put oem cai and downpipes on if something goes wrong but what about the AP. Plus on a regular service can they see a AP tune?
Hopefully someone can help here. I have 2017 wrx sti premium. Running stage 1+SF 93 octane map with correct fuel and intake installed. I cannot get my evap and o2 monitors to ready up so I can pass my inspection.
Hi, are you guys working on OTS map for 2019 sti/2018 RA? Is it going to be releasing anytime soon? Thanks :)
how do you use the 1/4 mile and the 0-60 feature. I have updated my firmware and still cant seem to get it to work. I come to a stop, then click on the 1/4 mile and then go and nothing happens.
I just installed your stage 2 setup about a week ago. Today I got a FKL reading of 11.2 and a FBK reading of 5.8. Currently in 6th gear and low RPMs I get a FKL of 3.6 consistently and 1.4 FBK. DAM always 1.0. What's the issue.
Ever hear of a 15 wrx stage 2 catless j pipe with stage 2 91 cobb highwaste gate hitting a wall at only 3-4k where the boost spikes up to 22.4 psi but the car feels like it hit a wall, only when I get after 4k rpm does it take off again.
So when you uninstall it is there any way you can tell it was ever installed? Like for warrantys can't you just uninstall it every time you take it in?
I’m gettin a 3.50 on the fine knock reading and my feedback knock hits 1.40 but it’s pretty consistent on my wot pulls my dam has stayed at 1 not sure if it’s the weather or is something going on
Question can I go stage 2 with just a CAI, muffker delete, NGK spark plugs, and downpipe? I know you need a upgrade intercooler for stage 2 , but I got a very good deal with a 3 inch downpipe..can I install stage 2 with the mods I have?...or stay stage one with the downpipe?...I'm talking about all this on a mustang ecoboost
I have a 2016 WRX, 6-Speed with an AEM 21-732C Cold Air Intake. No other mods, and I run 91 octane. I'm not racing the car. It's a daily driver. I just want to fix the rev hang and maybe get better gas mileage. Which MAPerformance tune should I use?
if you don't revert ecu to stock tune before uninstalling..will it prevent someone else from using an access port on that car
I Truly Appreciate you and Map for this video. Consistently Helpful ALL the Time… Nothing but love for you guys. iCon
Our pleasure!
my question is i have a pro tune done to my car for a stage 1 and im planning of getting the access port can i save that map into the access port before flashing a stage 2 or will it erase the existing map
Hi. I have 2016 WRX with Grimm speed intake Grimm speed boost controller and n1 exhaust and tgv deleted. So what should I get tune map. I use 93.
Lmao thanks for the info, I literally came here hoping to find an answer with multiple cars with 1 ap. Now I know.
Happy to help!
Do you do water methonal tunes for mk6 gti? If not is it possible for a consumer to make a custom tune themselves?(I have some tuning experience on other platforms, would possibly like to at some point do my own tune. Obviously would be completely at my own risk, which I am completely willing to take.
Also can cobb support rolling anti lag?
I have the same numbers in stage 2 on my wrx sti but when I pull hard the cobb accessport turn on the p0244 code what u recommend me??
I have a 2013 hatch wrx. which maps work for my vehicle if im running premium? 92 oct. is the flat foot/launch control available for this year?
He hello,
I have a question about the octane. I live in the Netherlands and we have octane 95, 98 and 102 and was wondering if you install the Cobb accessport and some other Cobb mods does it feature octane 95, 98 and 102 mod stages? Or can the accessport see that i have EU car version calibred directly with what octane is available in my country?
I’m pretty late here but what’s the difference between intake temp and intake temp chosen and which is better to monitor
when i enable wastegate adjustments in advanced tuning settings, Whats a recommended % ?????
Not sure if you said it and I missed it. Does the accessport eliminate the top speed control of the WRX?
Nice
I just want to know how to change the name on the maps the previous owner put his name on each one. I plugged it in the computer I couldn’t figure it out on there either
I have a 2020 wrx and was reading they don’t have tunes for it yet just the 2020sti you know when the 20wrx will be available?
So if I get a new exhaust and other things like that while I have the Cobb will that tune it for more performance
Why do I monitor boost on my accessport while STI already has a boost monitor.
After the first install and map. Do. You have to turn the car off to edit the map slot or map?
Hey brother just got a 2017 that had access port. How do I tell what stage? New to Subaru but love it coming from Honda. Finally got car i wanted please give me a heads up
Should I be worried about a -3.16 feedback knock? Car is pretty new, 2020 wrx with about 6k miles.
In addition to setting the rev limiter flashing feature, does the access port also have an audible beep/alarm that can be set to accompany the flashing similar to the STI’s stock rev beep setting? Thanks.
Good question! There is no beep or audible sound unfortunately.
So are you saying you dont want to have the 22 psi boost reading on a stock turbo? I build healthy 22psi but I have a 20g turbo and my legacy gt is stage 3. So am I wrong about it being healthy 22psi pulls. Thanks in advance.
I get a -5.60 when i floor it in 2nd gear. Is that normal? 16 sti. I barely get a -1.41 anymore since i switched to shell gas.
So if you set up shift light or launch control will it stay saved after you turn the AP off?
I just bought a mk7 gti from a dealership and the previous owner didn’t leave the access port in the car so it is missing. What can I do? What are my options? It has the stage 1 installed according to a VW specialist I took it to.
Looking for a tune specifically for 15 WRX with Perrin cold air intake. Any suggestions?
Can you talk about the revised tune for the STI? V1.02 ? Thanks Ian!
We actually have plans for a video featuring our Stage 1 and 2 tunes for the STi soon!
I have a stage 2 2014 and all I have under performance is 0-60 and 1/4 but no Dyno. Is that a 15 and up or is my access port possibly not updated correctly? Any help would be appreciated, I've been curious about this for awhile and can't find and answer ANYWHERE. Thanks!
What is tip on data logs throttle input position
Just a guess I would like too know..
Just got me one for my MK7 gti. i dont know much hope to learn from this
We are always around to help! Just give us a call at 651-348-8811!
I have a sti 2018 my injector duty cycle stays above 1. Etc is that normal?
What if you buy an STI that had a Cobb turner on before but when they sold car they did not the tune off but sold the accessport can I install a new one
