  • This week's topic is unsavoury, but necessary, especially if a family wants to have a viewing - imagine nothing worse than smelling smells or seeing blood or faeces on your loved one - step in mortician Tracy and her gently gently approach to the problem of bottom purge.
    This one may raise more than a few questions, so be sure to send them in.

So it won't be embarrassing when I die as I have had to use diapers for 35 year's. I Love Your channel, it is refreshing and helps me still cope with the loss of My Mom & Dad just a month apart. Very respectfully handled video ladies. Not the easiest of topics but informative. I remember watching a video by Kari the mortician about when plastic undergarments are used for deceased. Open coffins and viewing times prior to funeral are unheard of where I live in Scotland, though Tracy many know if this happens elsewhere in the UK? I've had alot of health problems inc being as near to death, without dying, from heart failure, in my late 30s, and surviving. I've had therapy for various issues and therapist believes I have ptsd from the heart failure issue and I'm waiting for an appointment to get assessment for diagnosis confirmation. Due to this event and the experiences with my mental health since I've decided to plan/pay for my funeral incase if it happens again and I don't survive. My therapist and family all think this is a sensible idea. Do to many health issues since childhood I have always been more aware of my mortality and thought of my funeral plans etc. Seeing a channel like yours and others gives me information and has helped me make the right choices for me. Thank you. BTW I'm 43 yrs old now.

    At my brothers viewing I noticed a "pink" stain on the satin cloth near his left side of his neck in the casket..I was horrified. I immediately let the funeral director know because I didn't want any of the other guests to see this. He apologized profusely and proceeded to do something but I didn't see what he did..I was in tears. My brother died suddenly of a massive heart attack and this was all so shocking to all of us let along this. I had absolutely no clue as to what this could have been but now after watching these videos, I now know more. But how could this happen?

      @Areyoudyingtoknow  2 года назад +40

      Hi Nancy, first please accept or deepest condolences on the loss of your brother 🙏 we send you our Very best 💚
      This was possibly some fluid that escape from his ear, sometimes even after great care on the preparation of a body fluid can be trapped deep inside the ear canal and move out when the body is placed into the coffin/casket and when moved from the hearse to the place of service. Sorry you had to see that and the funeral director would be upset that this happened and totally accidental I am sure of it.
      You take good care 😊💚 💚

    Once again Tracey you are on target with your care of the deceased. I would think the risk of perforation is high utilizing plugs. Sadly, I have had patients begin a purge prior to death and it is very distressing to their loved ones. Education is so important at the end of life even if it is a potential.

    I saw a post by Kari the USA based mortician where she showed the plastic screwin plugs I have to admit they do look brutal. But if course the 'recipient' is dead and would feel nothing.

    Ladies I love that I found you and your videos. I have always been fascinated with this stuff and so curious. Thank you for taking your time and sharing your knowledge with us. You’ve answered so many of my questions. I have a question for you. My husband passed away almost five years ago from liver disease. He was orange when he died. At his funeral he looked great. He wasn’t orange anymore. How did they get his color back to normal? Also when I put my hand on his stomach/ chest area there was a crinkly sound. The mortician said that when they drained his body of fluids he was very thin and so they put some padding on him. I thought that very strange but… what is your thoughts on this? Thank you again for informing all of us that are curious. I love you ladies!

    • @Areyoudyingtoknow
      @Areyoudyingtoknow  Месяц назад +1

      Hello and glad you like the channel 🤗
      So very sorry to hear you have lost your husband 😔 sending you our deepest condolences 🌹
      Sounds like your husband had severe jaundice, this is normal with a death due to liver problems. Jaundice colour can be a very light yellow to a dark orange. The only way I know how to clear the colour is through embalming (was your husband embalmed). Or maybe your husband was not embalmed and the mortician did only a cavity aspiration, this can clear colour a little bit not as good as embalming. As for the crinkly sound, that would have definitely been a hospital grade bluey covering torso, it may have had padding underneath but I would imagine it was also to protect and seal his cavity area from any fluid leakage. Because where we have jaundice there is nearly always oedema (similar to water retention ) oedema leads to skin slip (little tears to the skin, leading to fluid leakage) The mortician did exactly what we all mortician do wrap the body with blueys (these are absorbent pads) to protect the body of the deceased and the clothes and the family who will be viewing and touching. Blueys have the white absorbent pad on one side and on the other side, the one you could feel has a plastic backing this is a blue colour, hence the name it has 'Blueys' 😊
      Sounds like your husband was well cared for. I do hope this helps you and you understand what I have written. Because I am dyslexic and have appalling grammar because of this.
      We have done videos on the subject of the liver this will give the answer too.
      Thank you for your question take care 🤗🩷💜

    I'm from the UK but live in the US. I completed Mortuary Science School. In the US, funerals happen within a week, yet I've noticed in the UK that when someone dies, it literally takes WEEKS before they have a funeral. Even for a regular death. I would love to know why it takes so long to have the funeral...

    • @Areyoudyingtoknow
      @Areyoudyingtoknow  Год назад +6

      Hi, I think it's to do with mainly red tape, trying to register the death as soon as possible because funeral homes can not do anything till this happens. The fact the UK has a population of over 65milllion on such a small island, lots of death and not enough funeral home to cover particularly times family want. Think it's a combination of lots of thing. I went back home to the UK just before COVID asy dad died 😞 and the dates some family members wanted were not available for 3 weeks so we just changed it and we could have the funeral 5 days after dad had died. So I think if your willing to take dates and times that are not popular you can have your service pretty quickly.
      Thank you for your question and hope you love you job out in the USA ☺️💚💚

    I worked as a RN for 20 of the 35 years i had my license, and saw many deaths, and done the initial postmortem care on dozens of people. It's interesting to hear about what happens after someone is sent to the funeral home. I've wondered... and after the last of the family I grew up with died many years ago, I asked about watching body prep in the funeral home, and they told me it was possible, but once I'd dealt with my dad's death (the 'business' part of it), I didn't want to see anything.

    These are things that I never thought to ask about. But she brings up a very good point. Kind of like using a cork. I’m never knew they used uneducated people to help prepare bodies. But it makes good sense. You’d think they’d use a silicone caulking in the ants vagina and other. She did an excellent job explaining.

    Hold up, so I don’t want my body interfered with whatsoever when I die, now I just thought I needed to say I don’t want to be embalmed or “hygienically cleaned”… stick a pad on me and a shroud and send me on my way…. But aspirating I now need to ensure that won’t be done either?

    • @Areyoudyingtoknow
      @Areyoudyingtoknow  Год назад

      It's ok. You just need to make your wishes known to your family and if you don't trust them to be firm enough at the time of your death, find a funeral home you like, tell them and prepay and your wishes should be followed. 💜

    • @Areyoudyingtoknow
      @Areyoudyingtoknow  2 года назад +4

      Hi Kim, most are un-embalmed. Leakages does not happen on every body. Leakages (if there is any) will be presented before a body is prepared either for a normal prep or prepping to embalm. But sometimes embalming can bring on leaking (purging from the mouth or bottom) but would be cleared with aspirating after the embalm is complete. Hope that made sense 😳 take care 😊💚

    Can you do any chores helpiung to prepare a body for funeral without any special school, i.e. as a side job , or do you need a specific course for this? Of course the entire embalming procedure surely requires much knowledge so a school is required, but , I don't know , as assistant or help or something? Surely it differs between the countries, bu - what is your approach? Or is it like a one-person job, so the skilled pro does not use any helpers?

      Hi Lauraine, we have done videos on aspirating you may stumbled across that one sometime as I can't remember the one it was 😳 sorry. Also i have a question about the ✨physics✨of it. Ive seen a few autopsies before, but havent really seen the purge part. I have a hard time imagining #2 just coming out non stop, because poo usually takes some effort to get out when ur alive, like it wont come out if you simply relax 😅 so how? Does it like... Liquify? Or does the other fluid like blood and gas build up so much pressure that it pushes out? Like a death laxative?

    • @Areyoudyingtoknow
      @Areyoudyingtoknow  6 месяцев назад

      Hi, when a body is autopsied the organs are removed, this includes the intestine where most of the faces is stored and it won't come our unless it's squeezed out and that doesn't happen during autopsy. We have done a video on the viscera this explains everything. Thank you for your question take care 😊💚

    Question, What happens if you go to embalm and dress a body for a viewing and find out though medical records hidden from the family or hidden surgeries or tattoos that the person was transgender? Do you still present the body as the gender that the family thinks they are or what the person was trying to achieve before death?
