Fast & Easy DIY Dog Collar Sewing Tutorial | How to make an adjustable collar with ribbon & webbing

Hey Everyone! I thought I'd make a video tutorial to show you just how I make these super popular, incredibly easy dog collars for my Etsy store. www.Etsy.com/s...
I've literally made 100's of these cute collars, possibly now into the 1000's. I stock them at several BC, Canada pet stores, I sell in person at craft fairs and artisan markets and online via Facebook, Instagram and Etsy.
You will need a sewing machine for this project. I've purchased cheap and expensive machines over the years from various companies and believe it or not, my favorite machine is the Singer Heavy Duty, 4411, which I bought from Canadian Tire on sale. My more expensive machines sit on my shelf and gather dust.
To make a collar, you will need to first measure the circumference of your dog's neck or if making collars to sell at a craft market, it's advisable to make a variety of sizes like 15", 18", 24" etc. Always add 8 inches to the desired length to account for sewn ends and to allow it to be adjustable.
Items Needed:
One inch wide ribbon or choice
One inch wide Polypropylene Webbing
One inch wide clasp
One inch wide slider
One inch wide D ring
Coordinating thread, scissors, lighter
The ribbons used in my video are purchased from Fabricland Canada, in store.
The webbing and hardware used were also purchased from Fabricland Canada, in store.

I want to add another thank you for making this video. You have given me the opportunity to make extra money on the side which I desperately need. I haven’t used a sewing machine to make anything since junior high and I am now seventy. I am thrilled with how they look. With your well communicated instructions they look flawless unless you use a microscope. I have already been told they should sell like pancakes at Farmer’s Markets. I am so happy I ran across you. How does the ribbon hold up?

That will depend on the quality of ribbon and the activity level of the dog I would think. I usually buy the ribbon from my fabric shop, not dollar store and I’ve not had any complaints or returns.
