- Hi my loves! Today I am going to go over some makeup mistakes that I like to avoid! Obviously everyone is allowed to do what they want and this video is in no way trying to bash anyone on how they do their makeup. I just thought it would be a good idea to show you guys what I like to do for my eyes and what I recommend for those with similar eyes as me. I hope you guys enjoy this video!! xx

I'm not Asian (I'm black actually), but I like how she said "We Asians tend to have a beautiful smaller shape to our eyes." I appreciate that she spun it in a positive way. All races strive to enhance their looks in ways that may not be common for their group, but it doesn't mean what they have should be devalued either.
I have watched Caucasian makeup tutorials for YEARS & I wondered why it was difficult for me to do my makeup 🤦🏻♀️
True! Lots of blacks have the hooded eye in my family it’s a result of mixing afriacan and indigenous Indians. Finally I see what’s closing my eye so much😂
I was a makeup artist on a short film with mostly Korean actors, each one more gorgeous than the next, and it made me so sad how much anxiety they had asking me to make sure their eyes looked bigger. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to single-handedly undo years of being told ridiculous negative things about their natural features but I tried to at least say there was nothing to fix and they looked wonderful exactly as they are, which I would just emphasize with the makeup. Anyway... these eyes are beautiful and no one should make you feel otherwise!!!

I find smaller eyes to look sharper and really give that natural "bad bitch" look without make up. Bigger eyes typically give a "doe" look. Both eyes are beautiful and lovely! I wish people didn't dog on smaller eyes so much as they're legit lovely and strong to me.
mine are hooded, but rounder and medium sized, though they r still east asian eyes and considered small

Same i had it the same, bcs asian’s beauty standard Is to have big eyes, high nose etc..I was really insecured about my eyes but now I’m proud that i have them bcs these eyes are symbol and origin of being an ASIAN. So we’re all beautiful, dont let anyone ruin ur confidence girl!💛💛

“asian eyes” is a biggg category, so things will work for some asians that don’t for others!!

I’m Latina but I have small almond eyes and a lot of people confused me for an Asian baby growing up. Being older, I grew insecure of my small eyes… I thought I looked like a rat sometimes 💀 BUT this tutorial gives me faith that I can actually vibe with my natural features. Thank you!

Wow, thank you for this “eye opening” tutorial. I think back to my wedding makeup, which I wasn’t 100% happy with but couldn’t pinpoint or communicate with my makeup artist, she was doing everything on me from the “Don’t” side. 😩
Finally at the age of 24 i know how to do my eye makeup, over all these years i used to do the don’t side, my mom used to say don’t do your eyeliner like that but i didn’t used to listen to her but over all these years she was right

Hey, I'm not east asian but I have an eye shape very similar due to me being part alaska-native (aleutian). I always wondered why my makeup (especially on my eyes) never seemed to look quite spot on. Realizing that it was me doing techniques that weren't as charming for my facial features set it in stone for me. Thank you for posting this video, now I can correct some of the ways I apply makeup to suite my eyes and the rest of my face more to my liking
I FOUND YOU. FINALLY A GOOD ASIAN MUA THAT DOESN'T WEAR COLOR CONTACTS. (I have no issues with people wearing color contacts, it's just that I don't, and my makeup looks don't look like the youtubers' because of that)

I don't think they were tryna insult them they were just saying their glad their showing the truth. It's not bad to be imperfect and she isn't creating high standards for young girls and showing them what it's like which is good

Oh wow! I’ve been doing a majority of these tips already for the past couple of years and I thought I was shit at doing my makeup since it didn’t look like the makeup on Instagram. But really gotta find what works best for your eye shape!
Hi, this video is literally so so helpful! I am in between monolid and double eyelids, so I can never find appropriate videos. This has been so helpful for me!
we have similar eye shapes and i've never learnt so much abt makeup from a video! all these tricks are things that i realise over the years but never know how to go about it but thank you for finally teaching how to fix these ❤️
I just tried these tips and style and yes it works! I have Asian eyes too (mono lid) and I have tried several RUclips tips on how to apply eyeshadow for Asian eyes before and this one works best for me. It made sense and I definitely see a difference in pictures too. Thank you so much for sharing!
Honestly I noticed before that doing my liner all the way doesn't look good on my eyes🤭. So now I always do it halfway and bring the wing out. Thank goodness I've been doing correctly😆
my lower lashes always smudge whenever I put on mascaras so I just draw them on now lmao
I love Asian eyes as they appear without changing the shape with makeup. I left the side that looks smaller!!!! Beautiful!
Both sides are pretty, however I favor the “old way” side. I feel like it accentuates the shape in a very unique way.

I just made a beautiful Asian friend, and she doesn’t do her makeup often since she doesn’t think it looks good on her. I’m skilled with makeup but have never had this sort of canvas. This taught me a lot!! So excited to do her makeup now 🧡
I have the same eyeshape, had to learn my lesson through years of trying different makeup styles. Left side can still work on us, if you wanna have super smokey, almost gothic like style, but other than that lower waterline always should be clean.
I have native eyes and they are similar so this is super helpful!
Watching this because I inherited small, almond shaped eyes from my Native American side and no one ever taught me how to do make up and a lot of the usual tutorials don’t go over a medium complexion or almond eyes. This is really helpful.

The korean brand 'so natural' has a product for eyelashes named "EYELASH GROWING BOOSTER AMPOULE" which works really well on my eyelashes. Maybe u should try ♥
She uses RapidLash eye lash serum. If you watch her video "HOW TO GET VOLUMINOUS LONG EYELASHES WITH STRAIGHT ASIAN LASHES (MY LASH ROUTINE)" she mentions it
The "don't" eye liner on the lid makes your eyes look bigger in my opinion, the lower lash line is what closes the eyes. Also the new way you do your eye liner just looks more natural and yes makes your eyes longer but the old way bigger in a rounder sense

Nice to find someone with similar eye shape/crease doing eye makeup. Not all Asian eyes are the same and I had a hard time finding someone with similar eyes that has hooded that's closed off from the inner side. My creases extends all the way to the outer end so can't do wing liner like yours tho but nice inspiration.
I have really small eye lids and eyes (I'm African -American) so I needed this!

I find liquid eyeliner really difficult because i have little eyelid showing and one less than the other too.. it's very frustrating to do! 🤯😅
same here. I end up with the ‘Don’t” because one eye is a single hooded lid while the other is a normal double lid. I have two obstacles to overcome in one eye. :(

this is a very good video! i've seen a lot of makeup tutorials for hooded eyes, but this one stands out because of the tips and the side by side comparison, which made every point very clear. i'd love to have seen the winged line in greater detail, and from other angles (seen from the front when the eyeliner was aplied and with the eyes closed, for example). thank you! i'm gonna practice the do's (i've been struggling with the don'ts for a long time).

I honestly think both eyes look pretty. If you want to embrace your original shape the "don't" side is still cute. But the "do" side does look very natural and pretty too.

I have very hooded eyes and I love to see and watch videos! We've come a long way!
Since makeup trends change, we all look crazy if we follow them and don't account for our features.
About new makeup, I would move the white waterline makeup from the tearduct to the other side at the same angle. It's not super noticeable but it's making a weird illusion.
I also put my bottom mascara on in that little patch unless I'm going spidery lashes, which I always love too on our eyes!
I think it's important to note that round eyes are beautiful too, they just aren't almond!

Great video. I'm a Peruvian with small almond eyes and the eyeliner part is hard for me too. I use to make my eyeliner thick so it would show up. It didn't look on me haha. I will definitely try that eyeliner tip when applying eyeliner to my little eyes.

Great video…one thing that I’d avoid is actually the highlight between your eyes, which accentuates the distance between your eyes. I would stick with your foundation shade for that to draw less attention there. To narrow the distance you can contour your nose bridge and bring in the under eye shadow closer to the tear ducts. This will help achieve a more balanced look.
