Everyone's always thanking god when someone gets hurt and lives but no one blames god when people die. It's always "god works in mysterious ways" or "god was busy giving children aids". No one thanks the medics or the doctors who helped save someone's life and when people die, the medical professionals get the blame.
Also the fact that Scott dealt with it like a Champ, He had all the right to be mad about people making memes of him almost dying but, What fun would that be? Hehehehhe
He jammed his thumb inside his neck to slow the bleeding. That is pretty much the most bad ass thing i've ever heard. I wan't to be Scott when I grow up.
That's what happened to Clint Malarchuck of the Buffalo Sabers back in the day. Had his throat sliced open by an ice skate, and the trainer on the bench happened to be a Vietnam vet who happened to know how to shove his hand in to his throat and pinch it off
I’m genuinely amazed that he survived. Another thing, his law enforcement background made him damn near instantly react to shoving his thumb in his throat to control the breathing. His quick reaction despite the absolute shock that he literally just had his gun explode on his face, is nothing short of incredible. I remember watching that video basically as soon as it was posted and I know for a fact I would have died. Just like the doctors and nurses said, I’m surprised he actually survived. His skill with such a quick reaction to his initial injury, how quickly his dad got them both on their way to the hospital, and just the genuine miracle of it all is awe inspiring

Listen my ex husband when we were in the Marine Corps and he was training troops. The 50 caliber machine gun in the torrent of the Amtrak exploded in his face! That’s what happens with any fire arm at any time. It’s part of what goes on when you’re shooting and training. Now fortunately the wonderful Navy surgeons were able to save his eyes and he does have a side to this day. This was back in 1976. In the Marine Corps they trained me on all types of weapons and you get all sorts of injuries. Burns from the shells heart clips getting caught and have accidents with those. But just gentleman is very brave and I commend him for standing up and showing that you have to keep on going thank you.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@Ghost I had a severed artery in my right arm, all the tendons were severed as well and there were objects protruding completely through my arm. @BB Bilgutei well if it wasn't for God he would probably have been hit in the head too instead of his cap only. But yes, the doctors did a great job and I have unimaginable respect for them and only hope the best for them ^^ These people are everyday heroes

have been through something similar. can tell you the cool scar is not worth everything that you went through to get it. it doesn't look like he's experiencing any sort of post traumatic stress from it, though he might not be willing to admit it or the full gravity of what happened hasn't actually hit him yet, but if you do it can often lead to uncomfortable questions about how it happened that do pretty crappy things to your head. you can't really fault people for asking, but that doesn't change its still bringing the situation into your mind and puts all the negative emotions and thoughts associated with it front and center. thankfully mine is on an area of my body most people aren't actively looking at and faded to the point you can't see it unless I tell you it's there, but I can only imagine how much it would suck having that large of a scar that will be visible in everything but a turtle knock. I sincerely hope it's not actually bothering him and he doing fine, but I know I also acted fine on the outside and told everyone I was fine because actually discussing what was really going on in my head was too painful to talk about. tbh if he does jump right back into firearms he is a better man than I. I still haven't gone hunting again since what happened to me and that was almost 20 years ago. blood can still cause a strong negative reaction, especially my own which can cause an actual flashback. some wounds never heal, especially the mental ones. people need to be understanding and supportive regardless of what he does. if he doesn't jump right back into it just roll with it. everybody copes with traumatic events in their own way.

you'd be surprised how much you're capable of when you realize your life is in danger. I pulled an an arrow out of my leg while bleeding out in a cornfield at twelve years old. unscrewed the broad head and pulled it right out. nobody believed me to the point then when I arrived at the hospital the were fully expecting a flesh wound. I only have some memories from the entire incident for various reasons, but one memory that is still crystal clear in my mind 20 years later was the look on the doctors and nurses faces when they cut my hunting suit off and looked right through the hole in my leg. I dont know if I've ever seen the color drain from that many peoples face that fast and immediately start running around like chickens without their head. we become capable of things we never could have imagined when our life is on the line. it's something I genuinely hope you never have to experience, because PTSD is kind of crappy to deal with for the rest of your life, but I can attest to that one. hopefully if you do you dont get the PETA doctors like I did though. he made a quip about how now I knew what the poor deer felt like. my grandfather stood up and said(paraphrased because youtube wouldn't like the actual one) " you're lucky you're working on saving my grandson right now or I would drag you outside and beat you senseless for having the testicular fortitude to say something that stupid right now. get out before I change my mind. " I don't remember if he came back or not, but thats probably my favorite memory of my grandfather who passed away a few years ago.
@@elrojogrande744 It is also incredible how many near misses with death or horrid injuries lot of us seem to encounter throughout our lives. I have broken bones several times where it was pure and simple luck that prevented me from having my entire face broken or ruined spine. Did have my thumb nearly cut off (inch deeper and a major vein would have been cut) Still consider myself lucky to not have got badly injured relatively. I can't even imagine the experience of getting pierced by an arrow. I am guessing sudden sharp pain and then adrenaline and other chemical mixture that dull the pain quickly afterwards with some level of light-headedness?
@@Elmithian tbh theyre so sharp that it just felt like a muscle cramp when the muscle locked down from being pierced. I have absolutely zero recollection of any pain from actual penetration. I didn't even realize anything had happened until I looked down and saw a pool of blood steadily getting bigger. yeah, then all the chemicals starting flowing as panic set in. it wasn't painful at all as far as I remember. obviously I don't have really clear memories of the entire thing and the ones I do are the ones I genuinely try to never think about because it brings back all the emotions from the situation. I have bits and snippets here and there. I was kind of in and out of consciousness from blood loss for a lot of it as well. there's a lot of questions that the only real answer I have is speculation to this day and will never actually know for sure.
@@elrojogrande744 as badass as that is the better move would have been to leave the arrow in and go to the hospital with it in as it's keeping pressure on the wound and stoping you from bleeding out.

can tell you the cool scar is not worth everything that you went through to get it.
it doesn't look like he's experiencing any sort of post traumatic stress from it, though he might not be willing to admit it or the full gravity of what happened hasn't actually hit him yet, but if you do it can often lead to uncomfortable questions about how it happened that do pretty crappy things to your head.
you can't really fault people for asking, but that doesn't change its still bringing the situation into your mind and puts all the negative emotions and thoughts associated with it front and center.
thankfully mine is on an area of my body most people aren't actively looking at and faded to the point you can't see it unless I tell you it's there, but I can only imagine how much it would suck having that large of a scar that will be visible in everything but a turtle knock.
