I so agree, Tati. I want my makeup to enhance my beauty, and not call attention to itself. I want people to think “wow, she looks beautiful!” and not “wow, look at her eyeshadow!”. You (and your makeup) look beautiful!
I love swatches so much, I honestly wish striping our bodies with shadows was actually a thing ! Lol... then maybe I could start to justify my palette collection 😁
Someone in the comments had a cool idea..
I think she called it the Love Hate Challenge. Basically for each step in your makeup routine you use a product that you really love and one you really hate. So for foundation use one you love and one you hate and mix them. Then I guess for shadow just use shades from a palette you love and some from a palette you hate. And so on.. I thought that sounded like a really cool idea!

yes! the zodiac palettes are amazing, the shimmers are out of this world and the mattes work amazingly together! bh has sales all the time and even tho the palettes are already low price for the quality, if you keep an eye out, you can catch them for really cheap!

I love when people at work complement me on my make up skills/application. I'd feel weird if colleagues commented on my appearance though.
of course anyone would say you are really good at what you do. extra bonus if you get compliment on your looks. I think regardless of whether you are a makeup artist or not, it really comes down to the personal preference.

That’s one of the reasons I love Tati. I love experimenting with makeup and going wild sometimes, but for the most part I like how she uses makeup to emphasize her looks instead of always going wild with it. I like her mature style a lot.
I love her boss woman blazer more proffered outfits and looks especially with the red lips.
Tati you have so much experience in make up that can immediately understand if an eyeshadow is good, I trust you more than everyone and the fact that sometimes you change your mind about something and admit it...makes me trust about you even more!! I love videos like this when you can do a summary of the latest releases...it makes me save time in a way that I don't have to watch 15 reviews to choose what to purchase...so keep up with this content! I love your makeup so much. Not trying to pin you and James against each other but I hate how he’s always saying oh nobody wants to see another smoky eye, when realistically yes we do! Rarely is anyone gonna do a crazy makeup look it’s not practical I’m a mom and I’m not gonna take more that 2 hours on my makeup! Your technique, advise, and opinions, mean everything to me! I’ve watched you since I was 16, I’m 20 now and you are still my favorite and have taught me so much! Can’t wait to smile, laugh, and learn more in the future! 💜💜🦉
I think James was referring to overused trends. In the end, the individual may look a smokey eye or not - it is a personal choice so he cannot generalise the dislike as someone else cannot generalise what everyone likes obviously.

Tati, thank you so much for your videos. I have been watching you for years. My mother had cancer throughout my teens and early twenties, and in such circumstances, I did not have that experience that other young girls have of learning how to do makeup and hair, or makeup basics, from anyone in my life. Makeup was beyond my comprehension for quite some time, but I learned everything from watching your videos. I am still learning but I take pride in my makeup, I receive compliments for my efforts, and I am now so much more confident in the cosmetics department or aisles thanks to you. Everything I do I have learned from you, and I appreciate how honest you are so I know what products are worth the effort to acquire. Thank you so very much for teaching me my every day process.

In my opinion, not every makeup artist needs to be a "cut crease and 30 intense colors on one eye" type of artist (Which don't get me wrong I LOVE). I do believe technique is needed and it's great to know, but subtle can be sooo gorgeous and just underrated a lot of times. I love your makeup Tati!
Edit: not saying Tati's makeup is always subtle either... not what I mean. Hopefully that makes sense...

Agreed! Someone said to me that I suck at makeup because I like to do simpler looks on myself most of the time. Its just judging a book by its cover.

I highly suggest you check out the Juvia’s place palettes. my favorites are the warrior palettes, they are super pigmented and easy to blend and are the best gold/ bronze eyeshadows ever

Wearing less makeup is definitely not a sign of 'someone's bad at makeup'. There will always be trends and you're right about the natural look being the current popular makeup trend. It just looks so refreshing, makes you look so much more youthful, and encourages people to wear makeup according to their own unique structures of their face, not anyone else's. Plus, it looks great for every type of event :)

I 100% agree on the Born to Run palette. I love it so much. The formula is top notch and the mix of colours is great. Great mix of neutrals and splashes of colour.
I took it on my last holiday and loved it, could do so many different things with it that I was quite happy with having just that one and didn't miss my others.
My boyfriends loves it when i watch Tati in the background, because her voice is so relaxing.
