To tell you the truth,I have been in a bad place after losing my father a year ago.I had quit dyeing my hair(it's half grey,as I am in my 50s),no make-up,no nails,no false eyelashes.A far cry from when I modelled as a greenback in the 80s.Somehow,I found you.At first I watched for entertainment, and to see what new products are around...as I don't believe in beauty mags,I felt they hurt my self esteem. But thank you,Tati, thanks to you I want to try some new things.Thank you for helping me believe in myself again.
My mother's hospital's receptionist girl is getting married next week and she doesn't have a budget to get her makeup done in a salon, so I'm doing her wedding makeup...this video was super helpful...! Thanks Tati! You might not realize how many lives you touch! ♥️
I hope that goes well for you! I did my brothers wife's wedding party make-up and everyone went along with what I was doing and loved it. Except his bride, she complained that I didn't do her regular look that she was used to...raccoon eyes. *insert eye roll here* But everyone else liked what I did on her and told her she needed to wear her make up like that from now on lol I don't think she was too happy. Oh well lol
im turning 22 this June and i JUST bought my first proper pallete yesterday. (Waiting for it to come in the mail) and i feel years behind too..im watching all the "do's and donts" of eye makeup to help. Glad to know I'm not the only one.
Finally an actual informative video about MAKEUP and how to apply. Other than all that other bullshit. Yes it’s entertaining but that’s the problem. Feel like sometimes they get so wrapped up on views and grabbing attention instead of actually teaching us something. Tati you a real one
Hey Tati, can you do a DO's and DONT's on layering face make up. For example, tips on how long to wait between moisturiser, primer, foundation, concealer and powders. How to prevent it looking heavy, chunky or cakey so that it looks smooth, seamless and as natural as possible. Should you use less foundation and more concealer for coverage or the other way round etc? This would be a massive help to me and I'm sure many others!! X
Yeah I watched that one and it was helpful but it doesn't explain layering in the sense of how long to wait between liquids and powders if at all and I was asking for more of a "scientific" application if you will as opposed to product placement and what products to use. But thanks for pointing that out :)
@Tati, I really appreciated this as well, and not just assuming "we" know the terminology!! Do you have tips for those with hooded eyes, older eyelids, almond eye shape etc.... to better make the eyes lifted and open?? HELP! btw I panicked a bit when the video got taken down!! :D
YES. I learnt so much. Whenever i do my shadow everything is fine up until i do a bit of dark in the corner. I always seem to put to much, i could not figure out why! I put so little product and now i know that i need to dab and not swipe to much, it's such a small thing that makes a huge difference!
if I went to beauty school, Tati would be the best teacher. She Talks sense and isn't over dramatic with the do's and Don'ts - i know you know who i'm talking about *cough instagram makeup Artists cough* - and Tati is genuinely so helpful and gives so many options if one of the tips won't work for a specific person. Tati you are a credit to yourself, Keep it up! ❤❤
I sometimes struggle putting colours together and tend to stick to Browns because it's easy. Could you do a tutorial on putting colours together from some popular palettes? Not sure if anyone else has this issue though.
SonL P YES! I have so many eye shadows, and I try to come up with combos that might be pretty, but they often don't turn out that great, so a tutorial on color would be awesome!
omg this is literally my life all the time!!!!!! I absoltely ADORE all my palettes it gets me so frustrated that I can't even come up with 1 combo that looks decent lol): especially since I LOVE experimenting with allllll colors ugh tati pls help lol! I really do think tati is the answer to all our makeup dilemmas hehe actual queen 😍 xx
Serena Studie KathleenLights have a lot of neutral and day-time looks suited for daily wear with various themes. It's what I like bout Kathleen. You should check it out if you want
I have started my daily routine with this video for the past week and my husband keeps complimenting my eyes. Thank you, Tati! I also went and bought face masks yesterday after watching your face mask video. I live in Japan and the face mask selection is pretty good.
You all prolly dont care at all but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
i would love to see the husband buys my makeup challenge but just have him shop your own stash (cause you already own everything ) and it wouldnt be a waste of money that way!
Cute Coby i wouldnt say talking is the issue, the thing is when i joined this channel i loved how straighforward she was. biggest reason i started watching her. now her INTROS alone became 3-4 minutes.getting annoying pretty fast. theres like thousends of very chatty youtubers,so for me,this just makes her one of them(which i dont watch)
Hi thank you for replying. I do see your point. I think people love make up will think the "chatter" is sorta annoying....people like me with no siblings growing up alone who doesn't mind someone giving a daily "chat" & some make up tips product reviews? It's kinda helpful tho. Can you see my point? I hope so. 😊 thank you again 😁😁😁
Abigail Zedalis I don't know much and I'm sure there are many more tips, but avoiding silica-based powders as well as foundations with SPF is a good start.
Abigail Zedalis Yes girl my prom is tonight and I'm still trying to decide how to do my makeup 😂 I have like every single photo focus product though and they work well, plus they're cheap.
yeah i second the Alissa Ashley recommendation, she has several hooded eye tutorials, and she also tends to be a little more adventurous with the color choices
Everyone does how to's or do's and don't with warm colors and nuturals. I have brown eyes and I want to take advantage of purples and blues without looking like a zombie :(
i have green eyes and love to work with pinks and purples! I like to use a light cool brown as a transition shade and then work the pink, red, purple or any other color into the outer corner or use it as a kind of upper nose contour shade for more dramatic looks :D You could also try lining your lower waterline with that color and pair it with a neutral look to make that color really pop!
Either that or they use ghost white transition shades to make gradients with their eye looks. Ma’am I am dark skinned💀out here looking like a chocolate powdered donut. No maam. That ain’t it.
I'm somewhere in between the incredibly good eye and the eye that makes her looks like she got beat up. I'm just impressed I'm not as bad as I thought.
Other people's Do's and Don'ts videos: "make sure you blend your eyeshadow! Use a darker color in the outer corner!" Tati's advice: Small details that you wouldn't think matter, but actually make a huge difference! Thank you, Tati! I love the side by side comparisons and this series in general!
Honestly I’ve been doing a lot of the donts for awhile and now seeing you it makes me realize why it comes out the way it does and why I get frustrated when my makeup doesn’t look clean like yours
Love this!! I need a lesson how on to apply to dark lipstick and darker shades of liquid lipstick. The darker shades I find I end up looking clown-ish if I am not careful or I get it everywhere.
Personally I like using a thin, precise brush to apply darker lipsticks. I also have lip piercings, so working around those with a tube of lipstick or a liquid lipstick applicator is my personal hell. The brush gives me WAY more control and precision, even if it means I have to take a little more time.
Jennifer Baird I agree with the others. I use the ELF lip brush ($3) for standard lipsticks I'll line my lips with lip brush and do a sheer layer of product all over my lip, then blot, then apply directly from the tube and blot. Double blot method sets the stain first and keeps your lipstick on wayyyy longer. I learned about it from EmilyNoel (who learned it from Besame Cosmetics).
You're "bad eye" is my good eye. Thank you so much for explaining how to hold the brushes and how to use the different brushes. Now to try again. No doubt I'll master the smokey eye look as it's going out of fashion.
Omg! That brow bone highlight thing😱 always was doing the wrong way and wondering why everyone loves browbone highlight and I hate how it looks on myself 😅
So I googled you Tati... and I have to say I'm a bit pissed. I found blogs of these people running they mouths about God only knows.... it's just heinous. So here's the deal: I've watched A LOT of makeup tutorials on RUclips; for years. I have also gone to "makeup artists" at department stores and makeup stores. Way before this makeup craze started. None of them have been as informative or truthful as you. Everyone has a gift; not many find theirs or use it to its full potential. So thank you for your posts, your personality, sharing your gift, and always keeping it classy. The haters can all take a s*** and fall back in it. You're fantastic.
Tati, I hope you see this eventually. I want to thank you for the sort of "against the norm" mood you create with your tutorials especially. Lots of RUclipsrs make me feel like crap about myself when I'm just there to learn. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who just automatically knew exactly how to do things....everyone must learn first and you have never once made me feel bad about myself because of it. You are a mindful and kind person and it's so refreshing. Thank you!! 💜
Hi Tati! I have been watching your uTubes for a few years. I am 57 and used to be great at putting on makeup. My husband( who is really the best person to ever come into my life) is absolutely wonderful to me. For the last two and a half years, we have lived in Las Vegas. I really don't have any friends here, so I've been really depressed. You are my saving grace! I sincerely thank you for that. We used to live in California. I loved it there. I was working at UCLA, as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. My husband worked at Lax. He is an airline mechanic for American Airlines. He's been with them for 26 years.
There's no need to be assholes, @Scarlet & @Nivea! It never ceases to amaze me when complete strangers feel the need to be needlessly mean and insulting to an innocent person who's just expressing their feelings and talking about their life and struggles. @Bridgette - I pray that your situation has changed and you are getting better from your depressed mood. I know first-hand how incredibly hard that is!
@@dollcefina I agree. Oh my goodness. Those comments were so unkind. She sees Tati as a friend and probably wanted Tati to know something about her. Hateful comments like the above disturb me. We're all in this together.
@@dollcefina I also agree. If the original comment doesn't interest you try not reading any further and getting on with your life, assuming you have one that is!
A fellow influenster referred you to me. I'm a beginner. ( I mean I know the basics) BUT it was legit only the basics. You have opened my eyes to alot of things. And let me just say that I appreciate the time and advice you get. I have watched this numerous times, then I saw your video about negative reviews and let me tell you u was mad and upset for you. So far, everything you have done one here has given me so much info. Sorry for the novel I just really wanted to Express my gratitude for someone like you and your response was amazing. Love this channel so much because its helpful for beginners and you seem like an awesome person. Dont change a thing.
I really appreciate that you are going into so much detail. This is the first eyeshadow video I've seen that really helped me understand what I've been doing wrong. (Compared to other videos that have tips like "blend out your shadow". Gee thanks never thought of that)
idk if I'm crazy but I always feel like my eyeshadow extends too far beyond my eye or too low down and idk where it's supposed to stop? or even how high I should be taking my eyeshadow in general
olivia j Hey Love, just look at it as if you have to contour your own eye shape😉, don't follow EXACTLY the way many RUclipsrs shape or apply their eyeshadow, because every eye shape is different, that was my mistake😮 and I would have so much trouble trying to get it right. You can follow the TECHNIQUE But try to follow your own eye shape..hope this sort of helped😁✌
olivia j I would say play around with eyeshadow and see which shape you like best. I found a shape that I like and I stick to it, however it may not work for everyone. Since everyone's eye is different you really gotta practice and try different techniques to see what you like best :)
when I do other people make up to find out where it should blend you go from lower lash line and follow the eye socket, check a video on it at rae morris video (she is a brilliant makeup artist)
maybe you drag it into your face too much? Had this problem too for a while until I changed my technique and brush, especially for my nose contour I use a dense fluffy eyeshadow brush. For the face, an angled contour brush and it works great! Technique is pretty simple, I just try not to drag the color directly into my face, just enough that you can see it and it creates that shadow effect. Also try not to blend too high. Think of your contour in a triangle shape, getting thinner/lighter towartds the middle of your face. This technique works for me, maybe it works for you too :D
Kimberly Schaefer also if you have warm tones in your skin I think bronzer looks the best vs a cooler toned product. The hoola bronzer is the perfect tone
look up some color theory stuff. I'm an artist so I'm pretty familiar with it. Match cool colors with other cool colors and warms with warms. for example, try red and gold or purple and silver. Or go for a complimentary scheme and blend out a camo green color with red. or do gold and purple since they're compliments. put the colors next to each other on your hand and see what happens!
I’m 54 yrs. young & today for the first time in my life I decided to buy some eye shadow some brushes. I was feeling like my eyes were beginning to show there age. I had no clue how to apply eye shadow or what brushes to use. I bought 4 different ( and very nice) eye shadow brushes for around $65.00. When I got home I began scrolling through eye shadow demonstration videos on RUclips . I watched 2 and then came across your demonstration video and followed your lead. Oh my God!!...you are an incredible teacher. So easy going, easy to follow and lots of good and simple tips ( that make a world of difference. I hadn’t seen those tips in the other videos. I did my right eye only, for comparison. Wow, My eye 👁 looks fabulous. I’m an artist “ painter” mosaics so it was a lot of fun watching you basically use your eyes as a canvas. Can’t wait to buy a few more products you use. Thank you so much for sharing and being so open with your beauty secrets. I will certainly be following you. I think I’m a super fan after watching only 1 video. Thank you for empowering the public and opening my eyes up to a whole new world of makeup. At my age , I like the more natural look on my eyes and face but, you made me want to try all sorts of looks. I’m actually looking at my face as a canvas now for the first time and it’s exciting.
breena.me lmao yep i would use a little drugstore pallete and it had barely any pigmentation but it was perfect because i never did too much and then i gradually started using more pigmented shadows and learned how to blend
Can you do a video on blending. Not anything specifically just blending things and the best brushes or sponges to use while blending. I just started wearing makeup and sometimes I feel I'm not doing it right
theartisticivy Noo. Never blend in circular motions blend outward because if you blend in circles it will clog your pores. If you do it outward you are avoiding the pores
I have never seen an eye make up tutorial like this! The way you explained each brush (the why and how) 👍👍👍 Thank you!!! Most artist throw out a number and never even explain, leaving to realize how important that missing info is
This is the best simple makeup tutorial I’ve ever seen and used. I love how you even explain where the placement of the brushes go directly on the eyes, simply amazing. Thank you sm Tati!❤️
you should totally do false lashes do's and don'ts! i've been doing makeup for 5 years and i still struggle with getting them perfect! it takes me so long to get them on the lid and somewhat good looking.
Please do more videos like this. Brush placement and how youre supposed to hold the brushes is hard for me when it comes to face makeup. love these more educational videos.
Ok so I've always felt like I missed a step with the blending situation and LITERALLY it is the transitional shade! I tried this tonight with a similar set of colors and that transition shade made everything blend perfectly into place. Holy freaking cow! 🐮 AMAZING
Love the text boxes with details. Excellent tutorial. A little more eye closeup will be interesting. Can you give some guidelines for different eyes? Like hooded eyes, large eyes, and others? Wish you all the best in the universe.
Glorymar Diaz building on your idea, I'd love to see her do different Asian eyes too! I've been looking for a beauty guru do something for Asians since middle school 😅 I personally have a hooded Asian double lid, so it's not like a monolid but is also different from other races' hooded lids
You should consider doing a video like this for a glitter cut crease or a dramatic look! I feel like a lot of people struggle with a cut crease look - I know I do! lol I also struggle with glitters, and they look so pretty but I get so confused on using them!
i struggle with having too much concealer on the lid and it transfereing also setting the concealer): or the colors becoming muddy on the crease ughhhh
I agree with everyone! If this was, say, eyeshadow 101, please keep em coming with 201, 301 up to grad school (where you are! 😊). I love and appreciate this video - and you natch! - so much!) thank TW! Xoxo 💙
Hey Tati! I find eye shadow brushes a bit overwhelming since there are so many types and brands of them. Maybe a cool video could be you suggesting some of your favourite eyeshadow brushes for a complete eye look (For beginners)? ^_^
An actual video that shows you how to properly do it coming from someone who has no experience with eyeshadow. Thank you. I needed to up my game in learning makeup and you explained so well
Can we just give Tati an award for the best Beauty Guru on RUclips? She has honestly upped her game so much! I've been a long time subscriber and can I just say that Tati has personalized her channel so much and we ALL love it!!!whatever you're doing Tati keep doing it because we all love to see how much you enjoy makeup and we all thank you so so so much for sharing all of your beauty secrets with us Love you so so so much Tati XOXO 💕❤️
Thank you Tati, I am a total beginner with eyeshadow. I have been doing my make up for over 10 years now, and I've always been awful with eyeshadow, because I was doing it all wrong. Everytime I tried to do any type of look I ended up having two *bad* eyes. It's simple rules, simple tricks, but if you don't have experience with it, it looks a mess. I just bought the Morphe 350 2nd nature and Juvia's place Masquerade just to finally start my asventure with eye makeup and THIS video, is a game changer for me. Thank you so much for helping a sister out, you are the best!
Video idea: life changers. For example when I used great vs just fine brushes; Vitamin C serum for my face - was a huge game changer; cream blush versus powder, liquid concealers for older/dry skin changed my concealer game.
Tati is really the best at breaking stuff down, as to WHY you should use a transition shade, or WHY she does what she does. It is truly amazing, the explanation she gives is just outstanding
Tati at 2:36 - "You'll notice I don't have any makeup on my face". I didn't, because she looks just as good without makeup. I never would have noticed it if she hadn't pointed it out!
Bob Saget there are definitely wrong ways to do make up as some techniques for eye make up can make the eyes look down turned, smaller, etc and contouring your forehead if your forehead is already small can make it look smaller or squished. Contour is to mimic shadows and too many people use too warm of an orange instead of a taupe... point is, there are wrong ways absolutely. There is technique and it's about using techniques to tailor it to your face type, concerns, etc.
Can you PLEASE do a video on how to apply fake eyelashes!! I am always admiring your lashes in videos and you talk about them quite often, I am a beginner and would love to get tips from a pro! Thanks so much for making the best makeup videos :)
The awkward moment when the right side is exactly what you do all day everyday 🙃😂😭 And the left side is what my mom wants me to do when she tells me "honey, be subtle..."
OMG GOD BLESS U TATI!! I WAS THREE MONTHS LATE BUT HOLY CRUD THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH, ESPECIALLY THE ONE WITH TAPPIN OFF EXCESS PRODUCT, PRAISE UR MAKEUP WISDOM!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Tati I cannot get my dark circles undercover. And my undereyes dry out through out the day. I moisturize. I use smashbox under eye primer. tarte shape tape or studio finish hydrating concealer is what I normally do. I can't set it or super dry crepe undereyes. Any tricks to fix?
Adriane M consider trying a color corrector under your eyes before applying concealer. I have dark circles and combo dry skin and I'm almost 40. I like the color corrector by Becca. I apply with a brush and then blend with my finger so the product melts into the skin and then give it several minutes to set. If I use shape tape I find the key is to use a very small amount. Otherwise a more lightweight concealer is better like UD Naked or Maybelline Fit Me. I use a light dusting of Cover FX Perfect Setting powder to set everything in place. No baking! Just a smaller tapered brush and lightly tap it over the concealed areas. Hope this helps.
I have really visible dark circles and dry skin too! Colour correcting helps a lot like people have suggested, but as for setting your undereyes, have you tried a dry skin specific powder? I've never seen one in a loose powder (I'm still pretty new to makeup) but I set my concealer with my maybelline fit me set and smooth powder foundation, and it made a huge difference for me. I don't get itchy and flakey like i did with regular matte powders.
Adriane M I have the same issues, after years of trial and error, this is what works for me: I use my regular moisturizer, topped with one drop under each eye of Yes to Blueberries face and neck oil (excellent product, btw). I then apply my primer everywhere BUT under my eyes. Let everything set for 3-5 min, then apply foundation - again, to everywhere except my undereyes. THEN, finally, tap off the excess oil with my finger, only along the actual discoloured area, and apply concealer (WnW PhotoFocus atm) starting at the tear duct working outward - right over the oil (which should be mostly absorbed by this point). Then I dip a velour puff in Youngblood Hydrating Hi-Def powder (the only powder I have found that is both HD AND truly hydrating), I tap off the excess, then blow on it - a short, strong puff of air, and gently tap under eyes, starting at the tear duct working outward. Whew. That was a novel. HPH.
Ayla Fecero where can I buy this setting powder and I am off to target to grab your suggestions. I do color correct with a fluid corrector by Sephora. I'm super pale so I use pinky peach. The a.c. sucks the life out of my face. I run around misting myself.
Adriane M i use the tarte shape tape and blend out with a beauty blender, the trick to bot get creasing is to not use too much product. Some people like to use a brush to blend out concealer, but that personally doesn't work for me, it doesn't cover my dark circles and bags like i want it to. Once you have the concealer blended out, use a good powder. My favorite powder is by Loreal. I just bought it because I wanted to try and find a good drugstore powder and i love it. Hope i helped! The ultimate trick is to blend out concealer with a sponge; then set with powder!
This is the kind of content I want to see. I’m a beginner and I watch so many gurus but right now most of them do PR reviews and test out products. I love it when the pros slow down and help you learn. Thank you Tati!
Tati is there a trick to keep the shimmery eyeshadow from getting above the crease throughout the day? I have hooded eyes, and about an hour after I do my makeup, the shimmery shadow is all over the place.
Sarah Hardesty you can use a glitter glue to keep the shadow in place. Put the glitter glue on your mobile lid and then put the eyeshadow on top and it will stop it from creasing and moving, I also have hooded eyes 👀
I totally feel your pain! I have such hooded eyes that I can't even wear a really dramatic liner because it takes up all the space on my visible lid. For shimmers I just generally apply them to a small part of the lid, I don't bring it up over all of the mobile lid, that tends to stop it from traveling all over the face. Also a stickier eyeshadow primer helps, doesn't necessarily need to be glue but yeah. Hope this helps
+Sarah Hardesty i have hooded eyes too and i usually put primer before applying any eyeshadows. You don't need to buy eye shadow primer, just use your face primer, so you can save money.
Thank you this is the first time I watched one of your videos and I love how you explain in detail not only how to apply it but also why you use the brushes you do and how to apply the color to it.
I have learned a lot from watching you do eyeshadow, I was doing it wrong for so many years..... i have recently gotten many compliments on my makeup while out in public.... it looks so much better now and not muddied together.
Theresa Valdina Try using lighter colors and more product. Try wearing different tones of bronzer and blush. Personally i have never liked the look of bronzer, it always just looks like dirt on my fair skin. It has taken me a long time to find blushes that blend into my skin.
I have been following your makeup routine because we have similar issues and the same amount of space between my lashes and eyebrows. Also that holding your brush at the end and lightly brushing it has changed my eyeshadow game. THANK YOU TATI. YOU ARE AMAZING!
You should do a series called Tati's makeup school and make a video dedicated to each step. Brushes, foundation, countour, blush, eyeliner etc etc
Kaylee Wayment agreed! I'd attend evrry single class.
Kaylee Wayment omg she should

she already did a face makeup one. Search it up on her channel
Yeah I watched that one and it was helpful but it doesn't explain layering in the sense of how long to wait between liquids and powders if at all and I was asking for more of a "scientific" application if you will as opposed to product placement and what products to use. But thanks for pointing that out :)
Ruby Alexandra yeah, I'm interested in that too... like, how long to wait before setting concealer/foundation with powder.
You definitely helped! 😊 I guess I was just wondering if it mattered/helped to wait a little bit before setting. Thanks for the answer :)
Thanks Tanya 😚😚😚

This is the clearest, easy to follow makeup tutorial I've ever watched. TATI IS QUEEN.
Can you do something like this but about using really bold colors? I always find it tricky to blend and place darker or bolder colors.
Bish Fish blend with translucent powder on your brush- it acts like a medium to spread out color.

if I went to beauty school, Tati would be the best teacher. She Talks sense and isn't over dramatic with the do's and Don'ts - i know you know who i'm talking about *cough instagram makeup Artists cough* - and Tati is genuinely so helpful and gives so many options if one of the tips won't work for a specific person.

I sometimes struggle putting colours together and tend to stick to Browns because it's easy. Could you do a tutorial on putting colours together from some popular palettes? Not sure if anyone else has this issue though.
I am never sure which colors look best together, I stay with neutrals☹
Mariah Leonard has videos where she picks out random shades without looking and tries to make them look good together
Her voice could easily be an asmr, I wanted to watch this whole video but I fell asleep half way through, it's so calming. 💙
i would love to see the husband buys my makeup challenge but just have him shop your own stash (cause you already own everything ) and it wouldnt be a waste of money that way!
Amanda Andrews James 😕
Amanda Andrews she did a "fiance does my makeup" before they were married and he chose what products i think
Do's and don'ts on highlight, contour, and blush! please!
Stephanie GM YAS indeed this
She did
Tati, you DONT talk too much! Keep talking!!! Hell with those people saying you talk too much! KEEP TALKING 😁😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cute Coby her voice is very relaxing I love when she talk.
ABID HASAN yesssss and she is very honest too! Feels like a friend talking to ya! 😁😁 have a great day 💖
Cute Coby i feel like a native english speaker when listening to her, very easy to understand
With prom coming up, what are some tricks to avoid flashback?
Abigail Zedalis I don't know much and I'm sure there are many more tips, but avoiding silica-based powders as well as foundations with SPF is a good start.
Abigail Zedalis ^ agree agree agree, would LOVE to see some prom makeup tips from Tati please!!!!!
Abigail Zedalis avoid anything James Charles uses
Abigail Zedalis Yes girl my prom is tonight and I'm still trying to decide how to do my makeup 😂 I have like every single photo focus product though and they work well, plus they're cheap.
use the new wetnwild line doesnt have flashback
"The colors are all meeting up and they are all friends and they are working together."
That has to be my favorite sentence relating to makeup.
This was seriously the video I needed.
LetsGetEthical yes its great!
If you love beauty videos, stop by my channel xoxo
me too!! I do my eyeshadow decent but it never ever looks as good as Tati's. My goal is to make mine look stellar like hers!!! yeayay :)
Step one: Don't have hooded eyes
eileen the struggle is real
eileen Alissa Ashley is on RUclips she helped me a lot with eyeshadow
I feel this so hard
yeah i second the Alissa Ashley recommendation, she has several hooded eye tutorials, and she also tends to be a little more adventurous with the color choices
Diana B yes she's so talented and sweet ♡
Everyone does how to's or do's and don't with warm colors and nuturals. I have brown eyes and I want to take advantage of purples and blues without looking like a zombie :(
Girl yes! Brown eyed girls need some guidance!
i have green eyes and love to work with pinks and purples!
No maam. That ain’t it.
all y'all might want to check out Youkeyy, she's a black youtube and her does and donts on eyeshadow used some cool colors I believe
I'm somewhere in between the incredibly good eye and the eye that makes her looks like she got beat up.
I'm just impressed I'm not as bad as I thought.
Other people's Do's and Don'ts videos: "make sure you blend your eyeshadow! Use a darker color in the outer corner!"
Tati's advice: Small details that you wouldn't think matter, but actually make a huge difference!
Thank you, Tati! I love the side by side comparisons and this series in general!
Honestly I’ve been doing a lot of the donts for awhile and now seeing you it makes me realize why it comes out the way it does and why I get frustrated when my makeup doesn’t look clean like yours
I would love to see this with bronzer and eyeliner!
Megan P. Hell yes
"It's all in good fun" I love how she summed up makeup like that👌🏽
thats the best eyeshadow tutorial ive ever seen thankyou
mypone1 its awesome!!

Agreed!
i swear tati is always looking younger in every new video
girl is GLOOOOOOOWING
You're "bad eye" is my good eye. Thank you so much for explaining how to hold the brushes and how to use the different brushes. Now to try again. No doubt I'll master the smokey eye look as it's going out of fashion.
Omg! That brow bone highlight thing😱 always was doing the wrong way and wondering why everyone loves browbone highlight and I hate how it looks on myself 😅
TheKatalin93 yup me too
So I googled you Tati... and I have to say I'm a bit pissed.
Best, most comprehensive eyeshadow tutorial ever! Thank you!
Tracy McReynolds Thank You!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I would love to see a makeup brush essentials video - what brushes you would must have for eyes or whole face!
This is what im looking for too!
Thank you!! 💜
who else is LIVING for the lana photo in the back😍😍😍
Georgia Bracchi omg I just realized 😂❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍
🙋🙋💕💕💕
Georgia Bracchi omg I saw that too! Queen Lana made it into the video 🤗🤗
Georgia Bracchi I was looking for that comment 😂
K what was the point of the comment ur not saying tgat her videos taughtg u something or anything good u idiot
Nivea Soto , did your comment make you feel better?
Gee thanks never thought of that)
Me trying to do the left side comes out looking like the right side :')
OMG, me too! It is awful!!!
idk if I'm crazy but I always feel like my eyeshadow extends too far beyond my eye or too low down and idk where it's supposed to stop? or even how high I should be taking my eyeshadow in general
olivia j Hey Love, just look at it as if you have to contour your own eye shape😉, don't follow EXACTLY the way many RUclipsrs shape or apply their eyeshadow, because every eye shape is different, that was my mistake😮 and I would have so much trouble trying to get it right. You can follow the TECHNIQUE But try to follow your own eye shape..hope this sort of helped😁✌
olivia j I would say play around with eyeshadow and see which shape you like best. I found a shape that I like and I stick to it, however it may not work for everyone. Since everyone's eye is different you really gotta practice and try different techniques to see what you like best :)
olivia j 🙋🏻 my exact problem
Excellent tutorial!! I'm 54 and I know that I've done the bad eyeshadow look more than a few times!!
*giggle😊😅😄😂
when I do other people make up to find out where it should blend you go from lower lash line and follow the eye socket, check a video on it at rae morris video (she is a brilliant makeup artist)
Do a do's and don'ts for lips
Opal Princess thats a good idea!!
If you love beauty videos, stop by my channel xoxo
Totally agree!!
Opal Princess great idea
I’d love to see contouring. I always look dirty when I try, no matter the shade I use, how much I blend etc.
maybe you drag it into your face too much?
This was such a good video. I make all the mistakes on the left eye lol
Dawn Tran i hear ya girl, it happens lol
If you love beauty videos, stop by my channel xoxo
Same here haha
Dawn Tran yep that's me
look up some color theory stuff.
You are the best makeup teacher ever! I looove these videos
frankensteinsbride ikr!!!!
I’m 54 yrs. young & today for the first time in my life I decided to buy some eye shadow some brushes.
I’m an artist
“ painter” mosaics so it was a lot of fun watching you basically use your eyes as a canvas.
I used to look like the bad side !
Am I the only one who thought it was so much easier using less pigmented eyeshadow when first starting out?
breena.me go hard or go home tho haha
breena.me lmao yep i would use a little drugstore pallete and it had barely any pigmentation but it was perfect because i never did too much and then i gradually started using more pigmented shadows and learned how to blend
@@ivy7886 🤣
I have never seen an eye make up tutorial like this! The way you explained each brush (the why and how) 👍👍👍 Thank you!!! Most artist throw out a number and never even explain, leaving to realize how important that missing info is
Can you do a do's and dont's on brows please?
Anyone notice she changes the book pages in the back for each video?
Victoria Gelencser I noticed that too! I think it's a nice little touch of effort
Victoria Gelencser wow I never noticed this!
thats one hell of an aesthetic book
Do you guys know what the book is?
Aurelié Black Mr Kate has a shopping vlog all about the items in her beauty room and it shows the books she bought her!
This is the best simple makeup tutorial I’ve ever seen and used. I love how you even explain where the placement of the brushes go directly on the eyes, simply amazing. Thank you sm Tati!❤️
Lana in the background though??? 😍😍😍
The right eye is how I have been doing my eyeshadow since forever... I needed this video lol
you should totally do false lashes do's and don'ts! i've been doing makeup for 5 years and i still struggle with getting them perfect! it takes me so long to get them on the lid and somewhat good looking.
Please do more videos like this. Brush placement and how youre supposed to hold the brushes is hard for me when it comes to face makeup. love these more educational videos.
Tati can you please do the husband buys my makeup tag? also I love this video
Ok so I've always felt like I missed a step with the blending situation and LITERALLY it is the transitional shade! I tried this tonight with a similar set of colors and that transition shade made everything blend perfectly into place. Holy freaking cow! 🐮 AMAZING
WHAT. AN. ARTIST. Anybody here after the JC controversy?
Guavaray me! I started watching her and It feels so genuine. I’ve learned a lot from her ❤️

YAAAS
your dream has come true
And 2 years later her pallet drops!
I literally learned how to do my eyeshadow from this video.
the pic of lana in the back gives me life
Love the text boxes with details. Excellent tutorial. A little more eye closeup will be interesting. Can you give some guidelines for different eyes? Like hooded eyes, large eyes, and others? Wish you all the best in the universe.
Glorymar Diaz she would need different models lol
Glorymar Diaz building on your idea, I'd love to see her do different Asian eyes too! I've been looking for a beauty guru do something for Asians since middle school 😅 I personally have a hooded Asian double lid, so it's not like a monolid but is also different from other races' hooded lids
Angel Su Have you tried Kim Thai's channel? She is from a Vietnamese heritage and she is really lovely 💜
Or omg HALO EYELOOKS I can't get them right for the life of me.... the colors always mix with each other
I agree with everyone! If this was, say, eyeshadow 101, please keep em coming with 201, 301 up to grad school (where you are! 😊). I love and appreciate this video - and you natch! - so much!) thank TW! Xoxo 💙
Colby Chapman Soak
Thank you. I needed to up my game in learning makeup and you explained so well
Spotted Lana within the FIRST FIVE SECONDS lmao
same here gurl!! 😍
You look GREAT, Tati!! I feel like you get prettier every video😍
The way you did the browbone highlight on the wrong side is like exactly how jaclyn hill does hers all the time lol
And the way you did the lower lash line shadow on the wrong side is how jeffery star and nikki tutorials does theirs all the time 😂
danielle there are no wrong or right ways to do makeup. If they like their browbone highlight to look like that than that's all that matters
danielle hahahahhhhh agreed !
danielle ik i don't like the way jaclyns looks
Bob Saget there are definitely wrong ways to do make up as some techniques for eye make up can make the eyes look down turned, smaller, etc and contouring your forehead if your forehead is already small can make it look smaller or squished. Contour is to mimic shadows and too many people use too warm of an orange instead of a taupe... point is, there are wrong ways absolutely. There is technique and it's about using techniques to tailor it to your face type, concerns, etc.
Good.techniques never go out of style. Just rewatched this. Master Class Material!!!
Lana Del Rey in the background 😻
❤❤❤
Can you PLEASE do a video on how to apply fake eyelashes!! I am always admiring your lashes in videos and you talk about them quite often, I am a beginner and would love to get tips from a pro! Thanks so much for making the best makeup videos :)
"That lewks so pretty oh my gawd" 😂🤣 Always makes me smile
The awkward moment when the right side is exactly what you do all day everyday 🙃😂😭
And the left side is what my mom wants me to do when she tells me "honey, be subtle..."
Ayyyyyyy Tati is a lana fan!!!! Always thought they had similar features!

OMG GOD BLESS U TATI!! I WAS THREE MONTHS LATE BUT HOLY CRUD THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH, ESPECIALLY THE ONE WITH TAPPIN OFF EXCESS PRODUCT, PRAISE UR MAKEUP WISDOM!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Literally followed all of these tips and I CANNOT stop staring at my eyeshadow. It's the best eye look I've ever done. Er mah gersh.
One of the best tutorials I've seen, and I've seen many.
Put the glitter glue on your mobile lid and then put the eyeshadow on top and it will stop it from creasing and moving, I also have hooded eyes 👀
that's a great idea! thanks! it's so annoying having hooded eyes! everything moves around! I'll try glitter glue!
Thanks guys! I'm going to try everything suggested and see what works for me. You guys are awesome!
+Sarah Hardesty i have hooded eyes too and i usually put primer before applying any eyeshadows. You don't need to buy eye shadow primer, just use your face primer, so you can save money.
"Blend everything like a happy little family" 😂 you're like the Bob Ross of makeup
Tati is a life saver with these tips, I’ve been doing my eyeshadow like how she did on her bad eye
Loved this! How about under eye concealer do's & don'ts video please!
Thank you this is the first time I watched one of your videos and I love how you explain in detail not only how to apply it but also why you use the brushes you do and how to apply the color to it.
I have learned a lot from watching you do eyeshadow, I was doing it wrong for so many years..... i have recently gotten many compliments on my makeup while out in public.... it looks so much better now and not muddied together.
my face always looks blotchy when i use blush and bronzer, can you show a technique to show placement and blending?
Theresa Valdina Try using lighter colors and more product. Try wearing different tones of bronzer and blush.
Personally i have never liked the look of bronzer, it always just looks like dirt on my fair skin. It has taken me a long time to find blushes that blend into my skin.
Theresa Valdina try using creams and if still blotchy then put a foundation powder or translucent powder
I have been following your makeup routine because we have similar issues and the same amount of space between my lashes and eyebrows. Also that holding your brush at the end and lightly brushing it has changed my eyeshadow game. THANK YOU TATI. YOU ARE AMAZING!
Can your lighting and camera be anymore perfect ???? Not sure if you have filmed a video on equipment etc but if you haven't pls do 😍😍😍
