Great job Vas 🤗!!!! Super detailed look at this wonderful Beast 😍. Love the attention to detail ARRMA demonstrates👌. This rig handles like a dream for it's size and has incredible bashing potential. Can't wait to see what mods and upgrades we can come up with 👀 She really wakes up with some taller gearing. Fantastic job my friend 👊. No one does a more comprehensive showing than you Brother 🤗👍👍😎💪👊👊
Anyone who thinks this is just another Kraton needs to watch this video in full and actually pay attention, the folks at Arrma have seriously done their homework with this thing.
I'm glad you got one of these vas! Well deserved. I'm already looking forward to the big jumps and durability testing. One of the many reasons I love arrma, they keep innovating and paying attention and fixing what doesn't work and adding quality touches that makes the user job that much easier. Great overview!
This beast will definitely attract attention at the local park. She's a beast. Man what am I thinking, we haven't taken our cars for a run in over six months. Life, man. Too busy. 😞
As Always... Outstanding Job doing the unboxing Video Vas. Your the reason I bought a V2 and you did it again with this 8s. The Kraton looks outstanding and Arrma really did their homework on this car no doubt !!!!!
Huge Thankyou!!!! Vas for your wonderful in depth review... a lot more in depth than others but the extra detail is what sells these new releases..!! Absolutely perfect mate.. This thing is a work of art!! She'll handle well that's for sure and those Diffs are HUGE!!! OMG!! can't wait to see what this massive car is capable of!! 1/5th scale is truly re-ignited!!! 2 Stroke what?? Future looks very bright with this platform and with Arrma going here... Yikes!!!
@@AussieRCPlayground You know you do a perfect job Vas, And lot's know it. You've been in this game a long time and you know what works!! I'm super stoked they've switched radios just quietly lol...!!
It's a 1/6. The electronics which are rebranded Hobbywing stuff, is also 1/6 stuff. It runs Mod 1 gears which is also 1/6. A proper large scale 1/5 uses a 56 or 58 can motor, and it uses 1.5 mod gears. The Losi DBXL-E is a 1/5, this is a 1/6 like the XMaxx and Rock Ray.
Wow. Great upgrades. Yes it’s a truggy platform not reinventing the wheel here. but Arrma roots are showing big time here. And they did a great job here
Very thorough overview Vas. 👍🏻👍🏻 Can't figure out why anyone would "thumbs down" this vid? Anyway, thanks for bringing us a high quality, in depth look at this amazing bit of RC delight. You're the best in the biz brother! 👊🏼👊🏼
We call those snap rings on the drive shaft bearings on the diffs. We call those snap ring pliers here in the states, not sure what you call them there. but it's a nice touch for them to include the tool. I love the upgrades on this beast. Those ribs in the chassis are to keep it from flexing. Great unboxing Vas.
Hell freakin yeah brotha this thing is outrageous so glad they came out with rig hoping they follow up with an 8S Outcast very nice happy bashing my friend👍🤙😎🤪😜😝🙈🙉🙊👊✌
Hey Vas I'm a bit confused. Some places Arrma call the motor a 4985 and other places Arrma call it a 4685. Could you shed some light on what it actually is? Perhaps also tell us how long a motor you can install, and perhaps whether the motor uses 25mm or 30mm motor hole spacing. Thanks RC brother.
So the X-Maxx killer has arrived! I was expecting an Outcast but the Kraton will do. My nit-pick against the Kraton has been its lack of a decent sized front bumper. Glad they picked a tire thread leaning more to off road than to street. Nice unboxing as always.
You didn't talk about the other holes on the shock towers that possibly will be used for a different type of body? Maybe another 1/5 scale Arrma vehicle ?
Nice job, Vas! But, seriously, it's 1/6th scale, and just barely (kind of 1/6.5th). It's exactly 25% larger than the 1/8th scale Kraton. That 1/5th number is simply about trying to justify a price equal to the X-Maxx. I think a fair price would have been $800 max.
Very good review, as usual, Thanks. This looks real promising, a bunch of nice solutions, the only disappoinment for me is the radio, it does work but has a real cheap plasticy feeling to it. Can't wait to take it for a spin, already ordered and will hopefully show up by the end of next week.
Fantastic unboxing once again! Best in the business Vas! I'm a bit suprised there at no droop screws or sway bars 🤔 also suprised the optional pinion to get to 55mph was not included and I didn't see a speed chart. Those are just a few items I have come to expect from Arrma. Lastly you compared a Talion knuckle not a Kraton knuckle 😉
Awesome video! Love the detail. Glad they changed the wing mount. Wish they would have changed the look though. Not just an oversized Kraton. Did I miss the price?
Love how psyched you are about this truck Vas! Would like to see you review it with the included radio before you swap it out though, just to see how it compares value-wise to the STX2.
Awesomeness 😍. Good lord!! Look at the size of that thing!! 😲👀😂. Congrats brother. Love overview and going thru the details of the truck. Looks amazing inside and out 😍. Looking forward to seeing Rock this monster
20:22 hey vas could you expound on that oscillating issue you were talking about? What did you mean? I'm just curious of what you meant and what the fix was? Thanks as always. I always appreciate your advice!
This thing looks awesome. Maybe the two holes in front of the diff case are for an optional roll bar? Can't wait to see you run it. Thanks for all the videos over the years.
I noticed that the wheels are not beadlocked like the rest of the 1/5th scales, I guess i'll have to buy (beadlock) rims to use different tires, i'm not trying to say anything bad about the RC, I totally want this beast right now, I was going to buy a DBXL-E, but then saw this and said "sorry Losi, but i'm getting this Arrma instead" Arrma makes great RC's for a great price, I had a Talion V1 and loved it. (I did keep it out of the water) I had a KM Baja and that thing was great too, but its SUPER WEAK point was the steering, it breaks with a tap, I know this Kraton 8S will satisfy me a lot more and cannot wait to buy one.
Loved this unboxing just made me order one unfortunately i gotta wait out of stock at my local shop. But just got my infraction on Dec 20th after 3 months of waiting. Merry Christmas Aussie rc playground.
Great video as always Vas! Truck looks great but at the price I think the Losi DBXL is a better option. Those copperhead tyres won’t last 5 minutes I’m guessing! I’m dubious of the chassis plate too, looks like it will suffer the same bending issues the 6s Kraton is plagued with. Super happy to see a decent radio system back in an Arrma tho.

7:29 no its doesnt. i saw one of these at a hobbytown, hesitant to call it a hobby shop since all they do is sell stuff and an extremely limited RC section at that, and it was giant. its been a long time since i have seen a 1/5th scale in person but damn.
Looks like a fantastic machine and what a gorgeous body. To big and costly for me though. Hope Arrma also putts al the features in a future v5 Kraton soon.
Do you think that it is worth it to save up for this car, when I've only ever owned a 2wd slash? (For the fact that I don't have a whole lot of experience.) Also, is it worth it if I don't have miles of space to drive it?
@@seannewton9115 Wait.... "how many kidneys is it going to cost"? that's an epic idea... !! I was thinking more my first born but hey.. (I don't have any kids people.... sadly...
This truck has been redesigned.the one big chassis brace is now two pieces and there is a metal support in the rear on the redesigned version. They were having a frame bending issue on this design. Arrma listened to aussie rc playground once again thank god And they redesigned it.
OK so the center chassis brace is in place by a body clip? reminds me of the hot racing center spool. nonsensical - a center cassis brace receives all the the force and should absorb all of that force - so in my mind - any chassis brace needs to be screwed in metal to metal.
If arrma is watching this comment board here is my 2 cents. I completely understand using a platform across the entire line so parts are interchangable but I think something as simple as a body change would really attract lots of people. From what im reading lots of people have trouble spending almost 1000 dollars on a bigger version of something they already have. Now scaling down from an already prodcued truck probably worked out great in the past because its easier for people to spend less money on a smaller version of something they already have but bigger and more money is a tougher sale. In the end I like it and I may get one but I dont own a kraton at all. Also for a top of the line 1/5 scale it would have been nice to see the better spektrum radio rather then the one included .
That or something even more revolutionary like the videos they released of the developer working on the car, or the online parts catalogues they have. Heady times we live in, indeed 👍
Time for the endless comparisons to begin! No sway bars? Wouldn't that be a downside or downgrade? If the body is too thick or rigid, it can transfer the stress to the other parts, meaning more broken parts. So that's that. I don't know about that $899 price tag here in the US though. Maybe $799 would have been justified.
Just watching the video are you joking? Did you seriously watch the video and come to that conclusion, or are you baiting people for your own bizarre enjoyment. The only things they have in common are the same name and roughly the same outline.
