I have a lot of comments from people (maybe not familiar with my channel format) who can't find the price of the ferry. Just so you know, it's always at the very end of the video in the notes (last 30 seconds or so). But I paid 443€ in total, oneway, including EVERYTHING. The most basic price you can pay for the crossing (ferry only) is 129€. Thank you.

A voyage without hordes of people sounds absolutely wonderful. As for the price of the cabin, considering it's two nights of lodging, transportation and food, all on a nice, relaxing ferry, having all that available would make the difference between enjoying the trip and just enduring it. I don’t know how I stumbled across this video, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it from start to finish. This is definitely a way I would like to travel
I was recently on the bilbao to rosslare route after a really really long week and extremely long drive from central Portugal in a van and this ship was just what I needed to get some rest and food. Throughly enjoyed!!
Perfectly normal for me in the north of England, greeting when getting on a bus, and thanks on getting off. Same when going into a (small) cafe, or if it's a small 2-carriage train and I see the conductor/guard, as I'm getting on or off.
Watching from India. You are doing very well to let us see everything, and make us feel, we are with you on the ferry. Thanks . You’re so intelligent, not to miss any opportunity to make videos.
This was randomly recommended by RUclips. I really enjoyed watching and how lucky were you, having a whole ferry virtually to yourself. Certainly better than the old ferries I remember from years ago.
Hey thanks for watching this, I’m on a trip right now with very limited phone signal, but I look forward to reading your comments when I arrive at my hotel. Pray for wifi 😂
Travelled on Plymouth - Santander 15 years ago, a very agreeable way to start our tour of Europe. Only drawback was the car deck below us that had a car with its alarm going off through the rougher seas of the Bay of Biscay. When we arrived into Santander there was a BMW with a sheepish looking owner as they had a flat battery, everyone got to drive past them, we all KNEW whose car alarm had kept us awake in the wee hours 😂 It was a superb experience, I’d do it again in a heartbeat, just got to convince the family that it’s a great way to start a holiday!
Another great one Steve. Looks like a really good mini cruise. The term bunkering goes back to the days when ships were coal driven. Coal bunker boats would come to the ships. The ships would then open large doors and the bunker boats would transfer all the coal across. But the name has stuck and it now simply means the ships being refuelled with diesel fuel. 🙋♂️👏👏🏴
Sign should be updated to "To avoid being incinerated in a raging inferno fireball, please don't enter this area during refueling. Merci. Thanks. Gracias.", but it probably wouldn't all fit.
@@CallieMasters5000 Marine diesel is basically a sludgy mass that is left over from making other fuels. You have to heat it to something like 50 degrees to make it fluid enough to pump from the tank to the engine. It would be absolutely, completely, totally impossible to ignite it by smoking. You've more chance igniting water. HTH.
@@keithalexander3386 thanks. I didn't realise that it was an e-flexer. Hmm... Looks OK. but... I know some of them were being built to operate on LNG but have they actually started doing so yet? The last I heard is that there were "labour issues" with personnel not wanting to handle it. In any case, ALL bunkering has these no smoking signs. To be fair, if one of the LNG pipes fails then it won't matter whether you're smoking near that sign or the other side of the ship, you're going to Hades.
Hi Steve I think that is incredibly good value considering it's all inclusive. You've certainly inspired me to go cruising again as a foot passenger, oh and by the way don't forget your cabin pass is in your front jacket pocket! 🙂
We´ve done that route on the Galicia, sister ship, but from Bilbao not Santander. It may seem expensive but you have to know that car hire in Ireland is expensive, very expensive. We took our car and were very pleased with the service. The ships ride very well and the staff were attentive and correct. We like that we were travelling on a ship registered in France, no flag of inconvenience. If staying overnight in Rosslare St Martins guest house is ideal, really good and a well run place.
As you often say, you do the hard trips so we don't have to. I really felt for you, the ship to yourself, all that food and drink, sport on TV, a cosy cabin, on demand movies (in French), no Internet (such deprivation) and an outside deck to yourself (plenty of wind) Steve, please don't push yourself too much with these arduous journeys! And the price! Now, how soon can I book it?
Another great video. I must agree with you about being a foot passenger. I always feel we are a gross inconvenience to a ferry company. I also feel the pressure when filming a drive-on into a ferry. Some ports are a bit uncomfortable with photography, and you only get one chance to get it right. Here's an idea for your next ferry trip. Instead of counting steps, count calories! That was a superb video from RUclips's ferry master.
It all depends on the harbor infrastructure. By the looks of Rosslare harbor it looks like they focus more on freight from other companies than passengers. Therefore spending millions on foot pax infrastructure might not be in the cards. DFDS has a few lorry RORO routes from there.
We loved how excited the lady on the bus was 😂 What a brilliant trip. I'd find myself a comfy spot with a view, open a book and be happy as Larry! Especially with all that grub and wine to hand!
The food convinced me and the wine was the topping . New ship with lovely furnishings made the trip very enjoyable . You can't keep an outdoors man like Steve in his cabin for long so the frequent forays to the different decks and nooks of this wonderful ferry . Yes in the summers this would definitely be a jostling proposition . Thanks for taking us along ; the weather thankfully wasn't too disagreeable though a keen edge was to be expected on top . Santander ahoy ; looking forward to sunny times .
An excellent experience Steve - to travel along with you is a voyage of constant discovery - and how we enjoy seeing you "living the good life" on a very rare occasion in a proper cabin with good food and drink. On any ferry trip of a long duration it can appear tedious-but you ensure that the viewer's attention never wanders as you change the view in such a way as if we all decide to go and look at something else. Keep up the good work - always a very high standard !
Great video, as always Steve, really glad the Bay of Biscay didn't live up to its reputation for you on this occasion. I know you probably know this but, as an ex-travel agent I can say that even though 23:59 sounds like a weirdly specific departure time, midnight (24:00 or 00:00) doesn't actually exist in the travel industry. Times are always either 23:59 or 00:01 to prevent any possible confusion as to which date the time belongs to; it can seem weird but makes an awful lot of sense.
@@natsabuannam1725I use this twice a year and there are always plenty of trucks. Not many tourists in December obviously. During high season it is always full. In this video you can see trailers on the open deck (25:09) while the ferry was underway. The previous ferry was much smaller but they now use this larger and more modern one. A clear brexit benefit for those of us travelling to Spain from the island of Ireland with a vehicle.
At 4:33 in the video you walk through a door with scallop shells. You then turn left past a yellow arrow. These are all "Camino de Santiago" symbols. The Camino is an ancient pilgrimage route in Northern Spain. As a frequent hiker on the Camino is was SO COOL to see those symbols. You are making great videos. I'm a retired guy in his mid 60s from the USA and do alot of "off the beaten path" trips like you do. Cheers. Keep up the good work. Mike
Wow I’m totally impressed with that ferry. Lovely and clean and well presented and all those amenities. That’s a ferry that I would feel very comfortable on. Even though the cabin was a bit small it looked clean and tidy and cozy. It had everything you needed. For a ferry it looks very comfortable. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for another great video…the stylised shell next to your cabin number on the door is a nod to the Camino de Santiago de Compostela shell that pilgrims wear. It would be a nice start to take the ferry if anyone fancies doing the ‘Norte’ hiking route to Santiago de Compostela..
I'm always intrigued when I get the notification that another great travel video has landed from Steve. For two nights accommodation in a spotlessly clean and well appointed cabin, full-board food and drinks offering of what appeared very good quality, and the journey experience (with what seemed like very polite and professional crew)... I think that you bagged a bargain! safe travels to the next destination.
The port next to the sockets/USB in your cabin looks like an ethernet connection. It's basically connecting to the internet via wire rather than a wireless network. Some older laptops use that. Most newer laptops don't include this port - most times you now have to buy an additional adapter
I really enjoyed that, feels like I've just been on a mini-break ! ..I love ferries and boats of any kind and also been wondering about that ferry trip down to Spain, would love to do it one day. Was great thanks for taking us along. 😊
Rosslare was one of my ferry terminals when I'd travel to and from Waterford - Birmingham, and I always loved it. Full of trucks and hardly anyone else
That lounge, with all that wonderful food, is stunning. We were thinking of a ferry down to Santander with our Eriba caravan and a meander back to the UK. You have pushed that to the top of our list.
I live with MS. Its progresses a lot over the last 2 years to the point I dont think I can go through an airport anymore and sit on a plane in one position for hours. This looks amazing!
As a wheelchair user, I loathe travelling through airports. My experience with ferries is FAR more pleasant. You actually get treated like a human individual rather than an annoying package
This has been an eye opener for me: I'm a biker and I stay a bit north of Glasgow; have often taken the Plymouth/ Portsmouth ferry to Santander in the spring time. What am I thinking about? All those "loose-the-will-to-live" motorway miles through Engerlandshire (501 in total), when I could ride down to Cairnryan, and on to Rosslare (just 362 miles)! Righty-ho that's it: Spain via Ireland next time for me. Cheers pal.
Your post gave me an idea too! I live in the Algarve, I love riding and spending time in Scotland on my GS . As you suggest, rather than the ferry to the UK south coast from Spain, I should head up through Ireland ! Saves miles and is probably a more interesting ride ! (Fancy a hose swap for a week ?)
Hi Steve, I'm glad you managed to do this trip. I'm the guy who gave you the idea in a comment I made on another one of your videos a few months back as my wife and I have done this route with car for the last three winters. I won't be doing it this year however as my wife died suddenly last month. Enjoy the now!
@JohninRosc just wondering if U go back car can U drive on with provisional license waiting to do my full but want to do this trip soon ok if U don't know thanks
The cabin looks like a basically identical unit you see in most if not all the ferries crossing between Sweden and Finland as well. I've spent my fair share in these going back and forth. Looks like a nice way to get to Santander if you don't want to sit at the wheel driving for hours and hours. Ferry rides (or mini cruises) are a nice way to travel at a leisurely pace - just bring a book, some movies and a laptop.
That was a great wee video. I'd always wondered about the ferry from Ireland to northern Spain and you covered it really well. I'm glad you enjoyed the voyage as much as I enjoyed watching your adventure. 😊
This is the most beautiful ferry I’ve ever seen. What a wonderful trip! Your cabin is lovely. You’re right, those announcements would be irritating. The food looks amazing.
Steve, I have to tell you that those hand held long exposures of Santander were GREAT! I tried that in Hong Kong and despite much effort, the pics look like I shot by the skyline doing 90 mph! So just a note to say GOOD PICS!
We used to always travel by Brittany Ferries as a kid but this was on the Plymouth to Roscoff route. I’m glad they seem to still be going strong as a company
I used the St Malo to Portsmouth return in December. Always a good experience. Returning to France my car was the only French registered car I saw. As I boarded the ferry they shuffled me around to be first off in St Malo and waved me through customs on arrival 😂
Thanks again Steve, I much enjoined being with ya on the voyage, and I was thinking if this your travels were broadcast on the BBC or American PBS back at the turn of the century, it would have been quite a TV sensation.
Thank you another great video, we experiencing things we may never experience ourselves with your videos, I was amazed how calm the ocean was ship was just gliding through it
That was so so interesting to watch. Food looks good made me feel hungry all over again. You amaze how you manage to post something so simple yet it makes you want to watch it all over again. Thanks Steve for these videos.Regards from Malta.N.B those photos you took are exceptional !!!
First time I have seen one of your vlogs, have to say, absolutely LOVED IT. Now subscribed, I will aim to work my way through your previous videos. Thank you for taking the time to share your passion.
Great facilities and service but I would only do 31 hours on that route in calm conditions. 4 hours on the Irish Sea in rough seas between uk and ireland can be a niteMare.. can’t imagine 9 times that in the bay of Biscay 😮
There's a really nice beach where people walk their dogs right by the europort in Rosslare but it's easily missed especially at night, lol. The town is up the hill. There's a couple of hotels, a petrol station and a super market. It's pretty quiet. I've wanted to learn more about this trip for ages!
Not jealous at all 😂 would love to do that trip. The ferry looks absolutely amazing and the food looked very tasty and fresh. The cabin is ideal even for two Passengers. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Absolutely worth every Euro. What a great looking ship and the food selection was incredible. Not as good as being home but it was nice to see you travel in comfort with lots of leisure time for snacking and napping. Locking you up on a ship out at sea may just be the only way to slow you down for a minute. Where to next??
I was on the Rosslare/Bilbao ferry about a month ago with my wife and 7 year old. The cabin was super comfortable. It was a very nice experience. Would do it again
Hi Steve, Love watching your travel exploits. Two things:- bunkering is taking on fuel and ships don't have windows, they have portholes, whatever shape they are. Bon voyage!
Have been on many cruise ships had windows, portholes and floor to ceiling sliding doors in my cabins. The only ones referred to as portholes have been small round ones on lower decks that have covers on them to seal in bad weather. All the windows have been non opening.
Wow thats amazing, the room looks great!. Overall it looks like a really nice ship, been on many ferries and this looks like next level. Great to know this Ferry exists. One of my worst experience was being stuck on a Ferry from Sardinia to Barcelona for around 20 hours due to bad weather conditions. No Cabin booked, but made sure to sleep a bit in the "restaurant". Just 3 Days ago I took a ferry from Türkiye to Cyprus (just editing the Video) and it was quiet nice. Had really bad reviews on google so I was prepared for the worst. But luckily a slightly flooded Cabin (which got fixed) was the only really bad thing that happened. Greetings and all the best Steve!
Excellent video Steve and a cabin on such a voyage is a must. Taking that into account and the food and drink, I'd say that the price was good. On the subject of noisy announcements in the cabin, I would expect that is a safety requirement: after all should there be an incident the captain needs to ensure that all those in cabins can clearly hear any instructions that may ensue.
Your loverly Scottish lilt adds warmth and calm to your videos. I have spent a lot of time working in Scotland and love sailing by any form so thanks for the video
This was such a neat video and so unique. I liked the way you including all of the little details so that we could know what it was truly like. Thank you.
Terrific video Steve. Looks to be a very relaxing way to travel from Ireland to Spain. Wonderful to have the ship practically to yourself. I'm amazed it sailed with what appeared to be one lorry plus a few foot passengers! At first it seems a bit pricey but it's a comfortable cabin for 2 nights plus 5 meals and drinks - so maybe pretty good value.
Fantastic video! I think you got lucky with the Bay of Biscay being relatively calm! I’ve heard frightening things from cruise passengers that it can be nauseatingly rough!!
I love watching your videos Steve, as you say I hate to think how busy the ferry is in the summer! I prefer the peace and quiet but I wouldn't want to do this trip over winter. Food looked amazing and cabin was cozy, thanks for sharing your trip with us. Looking forward to the next one
Great video! I live in Wexford town, about 10min drive away from Rosslare port, and I've not been on this trip, you've inspired me to take it this year 🙂 My folks used to play on a band that was occasionally booked on Stena Line ships, one of my favourite childhood memories was being taken with them on an overnight trip to Wales on the Felicity when they were booked to play in the bar, first time ever sailing. My uncle wrangled a visit for me to the bridge to visit the captain and crew, I'll never forget it, there was an observation area off to one side of the bridge all made of glass, floor and all, I was terrified standing out on it 😂 Thanks for stirring up the memories 😉
111k Subscribers yet, 162k views.. You definitely deserve the subs! Your content is great and it’s making me want to do random ferry passages if they’re like this - I work on large yachts and still can’t get enough. Bunkering is the supply of fuel from shore/barge to ship.
This just popped up in my recommended videos, but hey, what an interesting watch! Having the whole ship almost to yourself was amazing, like having your own private yacht! I wonder if they actually make much profit on these out of season trips! Seemed to be far more food on offer than the number of passengers!
Great video as always. Last time I crossed the Bay of Biscay on a ferry we hit hurricane force winds and had the ship to myself... everyone was below feeling very seasick!
Another great video Steve. I've sailed to and from Santander, from Plymouth and Portsmouth many times. Brittany Ferries have a great fleet of ships, with first class facilities on-board. I've just booked another crossing today. By the way, 'bunkering' is a maritime word for refuelling!
What a terrific ferry. We were happy to be able to board the Northlink early on each leg and really enjoy our time on board. Your cabin on the Santona looked really well appointed and very clean. And the food in the restaurants looked super. Nice to see you enjoying a crossing in some style and comfort instead of testing the pods or sitting up all night to review super budget-friendly options for us folks. My trael advice...always get the cabin, always visit the castle. :)
I am sooooo jealous of your trips on the northern hemisphere ferries. Down here in Australia we have a single ferry service that takes us from the mainline (Victoria) to Tasmania, and it is completely over-priced, offering very little in good passenger amenities, and leaves one feeling like one needs a good wash upon disembarking. The Spirit of Tasmania could certainly take a leaf or two from Brittany’s book. So jealous!!
@@shona5512 I apologise for my shameful ignorance. 😖 I’ve sadly never visited that part of the world. You are absolutely right: 1,000 miles would be an excessive ferry journey.
I agree with you. It's one of the big advantages of our status as well populated islands in Gt Britain and Ireland, off the coast of a major continent, that we have lots of ferries, with competing ownership, sailing many, many routes in considerable comfort at not unreasonable prices. I myself, though recently retired, am not able to avail that much or them as I have caring responsibilities. When that changes, I hope to do so very regularly.
I absolutely love travelling by Ferry. Its half the fun of the holiday. I love it when you get a quite one and you can wonder around and have so much to yourself.
Always love the ferry trips. Also with the story arc from last week realising how done you were at the end of that day I love that you were picking up just in anticipation of a ferry journey, but then a small act of customer service - getting the three foot passengers on board early - was enough to carry you through a bit of an introduction on the first night. Cabin cost... on top of the ferry ticket, maybe a little pricey but definitely not super duper expensive for two nights in what looked to be a very decent cabin with decent quality food and drink inclusions. @2:47 Clearly driving onto the ship is a favourite moment for at least 2 out of 3 passengers on that bus. :) I'm with you - rugging up a bit is a small price to pay to get a lovely peaceful ferry, and I'd also keep getting drawn outside.
What a wonderful adventure! I agree that ferry trips in the off season are delightful. I have made the ferry journey from Sitka, AK, to Washington many times in November, and even though the daylight is short, it is a wonderful three days. The cabins, as you experienced, are a little pricey, and all food is extra, but the (not too new) movies they show are free. 🙂 Phone service and any internet is non-existent, but I pass the days with reading, word puzzles and following along on my volume of maps. I haven't made this trip since 2019. The financial problems and the pandemic really affected the Alaska Marine Highway, but I still would go on another trip without a second thought. I am like the lady you could hear on the bus from the ferry terminal to the ship.....so excited for the journey. I always enjoy your ferry trips and the lighthouses! Fair winds and following seas on all your journeys!
A writer’s paradise. You could live there in comfort, have the quiet you need, and scope for the imagination. Of course, a sponsor wouldn’t hurt! Absolutely wonderful!

Very enjoyable! If i were so fortunate, I certainly would travel on the same ferry during the first days in December. Thanks, Steve!
I miss the golden days of travelling from Dover to Calais in the 80s 90s...Dance to France...fab times...Great video Steve 🎉
That was definitely a mini cruise! I would have also enjoyed it without the crowds. And you cabin was quite cozy. Thanks so much for taking us along!
Hey thanks for watching this, I’m on a trip right now with very limited phone signal, but I look forward to reading your comments when I arrive at my hotel. Pray for wifi 😂
Dear Lord, may thou bestoweth us with adequate WiFi.
That should do it. 🙂

What was the price ?
There is no price in the notes that I can see?
I thought that too…..You said you would give us the price and it’s nowhere to be found. Infuriating!
Travelled on Plymouth - Santander 15 years ago, a very agreeable way to start our tour of Europe. Only drawback was the car deck below us that had a car with its alarm going off through the rougher seas of the Bay of Biscay. When we arrived into Santander there was a BMW with a sheepish looking owner as they had a flat battery, everyone got to drive past them, we all KNEW whose car alarm had kept us awake in the wee hours 😂
It was a superb experience, I’d do it again in a heartbeat, just got to convince the family that it’s a great way to start a holiday!
Why have a car alarm on parked on a ferry car deck?
typical Bmw driver.

These videos are great. Steve's natural enthusiasm makes them a really enjoyable watch.
HTH.
This vessel does not run on diesel but gas1
@@keithalexander3386 thanks. I didn't realise that it was an e-flexer. Hmm... Looks OK. but...
I know some of them were being built to operate on LNG but have they actually started doing so yet? The last I heard is that there were "labour issues" with personnel not wanting to handle it.
In any case, ALL bunkering has these no smoking signs. To be fair, if one of the LNG pipes fails then it won't matter whether you're smoking near that sign or the other side of the ship, you're going to Hades.
And Bunker Fuel Oil heavier than Diesel. A Black Gooey Bottom End Distillate needed for certain Ferry Ships and Cruise Ships plus Military.
I am from India & been to UK twice... I love the way you explain minute details, i feel like i am acctually travelling... Great video... 👍👍👍
Well, the weather was less than ideal, but the cabin looked wonderful. And those still pictures were lovely. Loved the video.
This is officially going on my bucketlist, what a ship!
Great video! What a depressing cabin!
There's worse. Try being a passenger with a bike! They constantly look at you funny.
I burn loads of calories walking 😂
It all depends on the harbor infrastructure. By the looks of Rosslare harbor it looks like they focus more on freight from other companies than passengers.
Therefore spending millions on foot pax infrastructure might not be in the cards.
DFDS has a few lorry RORO routes from there.
@@stumax1961Looked perfectly OK to me. It's a 2 night freight / passenger ferry not Cunard's Queen Mary 2 balcony suite.
That food and lounge - as you said, looked absolutely incredible
We loved how excited the lady on the bus was 😂
What a brilliant trip. I'd find myself a comfy spot with a view, open a book and be happy as Larry! Especially with all that grub and wine to hand!
That lady made my day lol
@@triggerking135 delightful, huh!
I wasn't aware of that and yes, it does make sense.
The military uses the same system.
@@simonwallis1787the police too, at least in Australia
In the nearly impossible event that I ever traveled on this ferry, I would DEFINITELY get the cabin! Safe travels.
A million times nicer than a cruise!! The food looked amazing (made me hungry!) and nice to be so empty … thanks a million you’re a gent
An almost empty ferry/cruise in early December sounds divine. Thanks for letting your viewers tag along on this marvelously quiet voyage, Steve!
Post Brexit haulage route which hasn't materialised.
@@natsabuannam1725 Your comment doesn't make sense. Explain.

A nice quiet sailing, great food, and mostly decent weather. Looked like a great trip and a lovely ferry too!
I was amazed how clement the weather was. I expected the Bay of Biscay in December to be like "Perfect Storm".
The grub look top notch.. Looks like a good trip to be honest.
This was amazing! Just like a mini-cruise. Now that you have the word out I suspect this ferry will be a lot more busy! 😀
Cracking video Steve, amazing to have the ferry almost all to yourself and enough food for an army😉A very relaxing trip for you this time😊
Not the first one of yours I've watched, but I find I really like your positive attitude. The mark of a seasoned traveler. Subscribed.
It looks great. Good value when you consider the journey, accommodation and full board with drinks. Interesting to see what Santander is like 😊
I'm always intrigued when I get the notification that another great travel video has landed from Steve.
Stave even might have been able to connect his phone. A modern phone with USB C, and an ethernet to USB C adapter needed.
I really enjoyed that, feels like I've just been on a mini-break ! ..I love ferries and boats of any kind and also been wondering about that ferry trip down to Spain, would love to do it one day. Was great thanks for taking us along. 😊
I just love your videos Steve. What a great ferry - it was a bit expensive but looked fabulous. I too love it with less tourists.❤
This videos genuinely make me happier!
Do it!
Your channel popped up on my YT algorithm. I’m glad it did. I am thoroughly enjoying your travels. Cheers from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦.
I live with MS. Its progresses a lot over the last 2 years to the point I dont think I can go through an airport anymore and sit on a plane in one position for hours.
This looks amazing!
Wishing you well!
Do they have lifts?
We all need a mini cruise like this once a while, just sit back relax and enjoy the trip. Great vid
This is the most beautiful ferry I’ve ever seen. What a wonderful trip! Your cabin is lovely.
You’re right, those announcements would be irritating.
The food looks amazing.
It’s made me think about crossing from Holyhead and catching it sometime. Good food, accommodation. It would all be part of the holiday

The cabin is ideal even for two
Passengers.
Thank you. I enjoyed sharing your journey and seeing that massive yet empty ferry and that lovely grub! Much envy.
Bon voyage!
Actually, "portholes" open and are meant to only be used in port when the vessel isn't moving. A fixed, non-opening pane of glass is a window.
Hi Steve! I watched this in bed in Mayo, Ireland. This is a quick note to say i really enjoyed it, and best of luck to you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Great video! I live in Wexford town, about 10min drive away from Rosslare port, and I've not been on this trip, you've inspired me to take it this year 🙂
My folks used to play on a band that was occasionally booked on Stena Line ships, one of my favourite childhood memories was being taken with them on an overnight trip to Wales on the Felicity when they were booked to play in the bar, first time ever sailing.
As in putting coal in the coal bunker in yesteryear.
I thought that that what it was. But not confident enough to to post an answer.
Nice vid. Bunkering is actually the act of taking on fuel.
"... always visit the castle." 😍👍... although there are a lot of horror films set in Spain 🦇
If the boat doesn't actively try to kill you, it can hardly be called "The Spirit of Tasmania". 😄
No ferries to NZ?
@@vondahe NZ is over 1000miles away from Australia, even at their closest points. That's a long ass ferry journey.
@@shona5512 I apologise for my shameful ignorance. 😖
I’ve sadly never visited that part of the world.
Wow, I feel like I've been on holiday. That food was amazing, and what a cute cabin with all facilities. Well worth the money, Steve!

What a great video. I'm actually thinking of booking this journey. Thanks Steve.
I'm with you - rugging up a bit is a small price to pay to get a lovely peaceful ferry, and I'd also keep getting drawn outside.
