Within the last couple of days they have finally added a button deep in the RUclips Studio menus to turn off the auto-dubbing. I have now turned it off, but please be aware it's been quite annoying and damaging to MY channel as well at to the viewer, please consider this when complaining to me about it.

Norway around Oslo(Southeast) is not so dramatic nature. Agricultural. Mountains between east and west Norway. Fjords and beautiful places in west. But a lot of tourists in summer. Mid Norway around Trondheim is like east, not so dramatic but beautiful. That area is historically viking area with a proud history. North Norway is dramatic and beautiful. Not too much people, but enough.. People generally is more open and friendly the longer away from Oslo you travel. And Norway is very safe. Dont buy drinking water, everywere our water is very good!

@@steinarnielsen8954 No, it’s primarily because our favourite spots are being overrun and destroyed by tourists, we don’t like it and are complaining. As tourism numbers hopefully fall, the number of hotels we have will once again suffice and Airbnb will become less attractive to residential property owners. High incomes from Airbnb guests undoubtedly encourages some to buy investment houses to service that market. The housing rental market is undoubtedly tight at the moment but it’s far from a “massive housing crisis”.

Those WLAB2 sleeping cars entered service in 1986, near 40 years ago. They were built at Strømmens Værksted near Oslo, and like anything “local”, that’s all gone now.
The cars were upgraded in ‘06, but their quiet ride, oversize octagonal shape and 27m length were unique, and still are. The construction & tech of these cars made up a “new royal train” mid ‘90s. Otherwise, nothing like them have entered service in Norway since.
Boring as sleeping cars may be, these are quite special (to train nerds…). Afaik none were ever exported, but were “shown off” at some continental events.

You (all) may want to check the channel of Railcowgirl, a train driver. She has filmed this Bergensbanen from the cabin in any time of the day or season, in any weather. At least once including collecting the train from the depot at either end. The other year, she switched from passenger trains to freight trains, and has been able to show us more routes. - A favourite of mine is where she has to stop her freight train to wipe snow from her windshield to regain a bit of a view.
Even more beautiful than the Bergen line (including Myrdal - Flåm) I find the Nordlandsbanen between Trondheim and Bodø. Years ago, NRK (television) filmed a driver's view of that (all of the over 9 hours) in four seasons.

I discovered your videos yesterday. I lived in the north west of England for a little over eight years, an hour and a half drive from Scotland. I fell in love with the country and the people. I’ve read about Scotland’s history. I now live in New Mexico, USA. Thanks so much for these wonderful videos. Safe travels.

Norway is so amazing. As I flew out the last time I travelled I looked down on all those lovely green islands thinking what a fabulous place to live.
By the way, I think it is worth checking out those airport lounges you shun. The best are very comfortable and well equipped with newspapers and magazines, fabulous food, and showers! I thought them a real bonus when I was long distance travelling.
Really looking forward to knowing where you are going now….. Thanks a million Steve

Yes, no worries about your luggage when taking a wee nap, which is easier as it's often quieter than in the public spaces, and you're already at the airport past security, so much less risk missing your flight than waiting in a bar outside of the airport. And with the prices at airport bars, the free drinks alone are often worth it. Some railway stations have them, too, but honestly, those are rather spartan compared to the average airport lounge. Still, the same advantages apply, quiet, some food and drinks, often there are showers...

So two key items from this are: 1. Norwegian railways are sloppy time keepers (4 seconds late leaving Bergen indeed!) and 2. You’re trying to smuggle all your fortune out of the UK, 20p at a time 😂. Seriously though Steve another excellent video and as always nice to see Alicja, even if only on your phone’s wallpaper. Looking forward to your future adventures. 👍
