@@eriksoto8473 I’m in the Permian Basin. My company is out of midland. Currently in Carlsbad NM for my hitch. I’m working for Universal. There are many companies hiring though.
I remember those days I work for Halliburton industries we did the same work in the oilfield loved it was always away from home an loved it travel everywhere
The work is shit and the pay is nothing like what it used to be. Stay in school, get an education and work a normal job. The oil field has no future; especially in Alberta.
when I started fracking with zero experience and no CDL it was 16.50hr but depending on the hours worked I would still sometimes bring home 2,000 dollars for 7 days worked
So, I mean, what’s the pay like? An average paycheck after tax? I’ve been driving in the patch for 7 years hauling crude oil etc. and I’ve been taking home $4,500 - $6,000 after tax every 2 weeks but that’s doing 16-18 hours a day every day. Is the pay similar to that?
It varies all over depending where you live, the size of your fracs, luck etc. You make more now than most of them do. Supervisors make 140-230 000 a year. Non supervisors range from 75- 160 000, varies a lot depending how big the jobs are you get put on
I meant operator. As in, a hand that actually does something. Not walk around either with their hair up trying to mean mug and act like a dude to everybody or with their hair down trying to fuck every hand on the crew. While simultaneously doing nothing.
My operator (Girl) is awesome! Drives heavy vehicle logger, rigs all the tools in and out, lifts heavy shit & cleans them all back at the shop. She is awesome.
Lol it’s nothing like that really. You don’t sleep in the Tractors you go to a bed wether it’s a mancamp or hotel.. every night. At least for frac. Cement and all that is a different story. And no one changes their coveralls 3x a day lmaooo you wear one and it dirty all day. And only change if you get wet and it’s cold
Lol, I'm in cement and yeah we get hotels if we're away from base assisting another base. But lots of napping between Jobs in the truck, cement keeps a guy on his toes.
shit that aint mud its mud when you sink to your knees and after the frac a d9 drags the iron out roadside so you can break it down. busted airlines bent maxi cans strappin fuel tanks back on with chain and binders.
If you don’t care about your friends or family you can become rich af especially if you’re single. My strategy was Tanker water hauling. Flat rates at no less then 25 % per load 30 % was gravy. But fuck reefer trucking can kiss my ass. The highest in demand division their is but also the most miserable. Gotta slide tandems and be great at back no fuck all that. Tanker was my favorite.
In the muddy conditions when you’re driving off-road you’ll quickly realize that making corners and trying to turn your truck still continues going straight. The steering chains help with that
Dispatch- gotta load of sand for ya Driver- cool where to? Dispatch- up the Alaska Highway bucking horse frac site Driver- where my loading? Dispatch- Taylor load and go it’s hot Driver- let’s go 🤓

Well I haul aggregates and I am home every day by 5ish. I start at 6. I make 2,000 weekly. Wouldn't change it for the world! But if this is your thing hell go for it ❤!

They are jokingly known as Trashcan but yes, have nice iron and a few old hands who used to work for them say they are a great company to work for.
I thought shift work at Suncor in Ft. McMurray in 1980 was bad. At least that was predictable. Definitely a young man's game at best.
