- In this rather long episode I go over the full Renaultsport body kit conversion on the red shed. Sorry the editing quality is so poor this series was show on a very ad-hoc basis and not really intended to have any cinematic flare!
Previous episode - Headlight Restoration
Next episode - Wide track suspension
These are the parts which are different on the sports. Some of the colour coding and things like a rain sensing screen are on some non-sport models but that depends on the trim level so I've included it in the list anyway.
Front and rear bumpers
Front fog lights (may require wiring)
Front grills and headlight washer jets (may require wiring) or blanks
Wings
Side skirts
Colour coded door handles and side strips
Colour coded wing mirrors - electric and heated (may require wiring)
All arch liners front and back
Clear indicators
Xenon headlights
Spoiler (cup on 172 cup and cup packed 182s, I didn't change this)
Rain sensing windscreen (may require wiring)
RenaultSport sill covers
16" wheels
Silver bullets
Mist washer jets (not on sports but good extra!) Part number 6438V8
Que chingon trabajo!!!!!! I like your job, very well indeed.
Thanks! Fitting a 172 kit to my DCI 100 in a week or so.
Hi - Great work! I am in the process of completing this on a DCI 100 - I am reading something about driveshafts not working with my box? Do you know what I need to do? You seem to be the man to speak to when it comes to these conversions. Found these videos from your post on cliosport forum. Thanks!
Hey Lee,
Yes the 100 has a different gearbox which doesn’t have cross comparable driveshafts with the 172/182. There are some guys which have had custom shafts made up for the job but unfortunately I have no idea on the specs. All the best with your project
@@TrackItYT thank you for getting back to me! Watched all of your 'red shed' videos yesterday, great build! Also, your first silver dci looked great, too!
That poor little bug on the bullets!!
Mate you know so much about the Renault clio its amazing. Need advice on a v6 replica which my sons purchased. The rear wheels are off alignment how could we custom make some rear arches so they look right? Any advice would be appreciated
Any luck?
Wish i had that avaiablity of parts here in Portugal
I was very lucky to find all the parts so fast! Hoping to get another video out in a couple of days :)
Looking good so far mate, please could you tell me how you measured where to put the brackets for your side skirts? Thanks
You need to mock it up with the sideskirt. On the skirt you can see where the brackets clip in to. There is a little leeway so doesn’t need to be perfect but that will help you get the spacing.
TrackIt thanks so much for the help mate 😁
Do you have a link as to where you purchased the bodykit? or did you purchase the items individually?
Got it as one from SSS autos in Worthing
@@TrackItYT Thank you for your reply, do you know if they still sell this despite it being 2 years since you fitted this ;)
Good question, not sure as I think Steve was shutting up shop. They have an eBay shop so have a look there. Otherwise one will turn up on the Facebook groups.
where to buy ?
Looking nice! What steering wheel/airbag is that?
Cheers dude, it’s a 197 wheel. Video being made on fitting it very shortly. Will be a much shorter wait than it was for this video.
I have a Clio mk2 myself like yours. Wanting to do the rear bumper as you did but was just wondering if I would need to buy the rear wings or will it fit without it
The shell is the same so only rear bumper and arch liners are required to do that
@@TrackItYTokay thanks, do you know the name of the arch liners?
@@TrackItYT as in what model are the arch liners from
@@RxmsyOG 172/182
@@TrackItYT sorry for all the questions but would the existing screws fit on the new bumper?
So dose a 182/172 bumper fit on a 2003 1.2 Clio Dynamique 3dr. I wanna buy a 1.2 Clio and do a face lift and put 182 wheels on it but I’m just stuck on what parts I need to do the face lift
All mk2 clio bodyshells are the same so yep it will fit but you need the sport wings as well because they’re wider and then would also need the sideskirts or it would look a bit odd! Would need spacers or sport running gear to poke the wheels out more as the sport wings are wider than the nonsport bits
TrackIt thanks man I definitely keep that in mind 👌🏻
And I’m confused on what 1.2 Clio would be best to do the face lift
You want one which is the same colour as a sport, pearl black, Monaco blue, titanium silver, flame red or pearl black are common choices.
TrackIt massive help thanks 👌🏻
TrackIt were would the best place be to find theas parts
Gonna be doing this to my Clio mk2 1.2 8v phase 2 what wheel spacers size would you recommend
Think 20/25mm is about right but I instead ran sport suspension to push the wheels out. Part 4 of this build shows that and the difference it makes.
@@TrackItYT would mine need the same set up if I wanted to run the sport suspension etc?
Yeah. Hub spacing on the shock is different
