    This is the greatest music made by a clockmaker.

    To me Axe is doing a great job nowadays as he has found his own niche and style within Opeth, but there's no arguing with Lopez being the best drummer for the band's unique sound. To be fair, just being able to play these insanely technical songs as well as he does takes some major skills, and Axe's drumming on Watershed and Heritage is right up there next to Lopez' records in my honest opinion.

Opeth es una de mis bandas favoritas; con una ejecucion detalladamente impecable; para un amante de la musica verla en vivo es una experiencia mas q onirica. larga vida para Opeth y para maitre Akerfeldt.

    Hey I'm in the same boat. I liked the odd song by the band but was never really in-tune with their music. But seeing them live was incredible. You can understand the music more and really feel the sheer power of it all. Amazing. Definitely the best band at sonisphere in my eyes.

    Hes saying they come from switerland but not in the sence of their origin, the previous gig the did was in switerland, thats why he said, "We come all the way from switerland to play to you guys" and of course, he said "Dont blame me, Im just a poor cloock maker from switerland" because it matches perfect with his previous joke about eating chocolate and stuff, or at least, thats the way I see it.

    He still fits better than Akesson (the biggest mistake the band has ever made. For example listen to his clean parts in The Grand Conjuration from the same concert). IMO Akerfeldt, Lindgren, Wiberg, Mendz & Lopez were their best lineup and they are all irreplaceable.

    Growling some 20~ years straight gotta fuck up your vocal chords, don't you think? Then again, he's pretty good at it, might be just the age. While proper technique can save you a lot of strain, there's not much to do against the wear and tear that comes with aging.

  • @csmanuel86

    I think his involvement with his old band Bloodbath had an influence on the sound of his growling. Listen to some of their stuff and you'll see the growls sound the same as they do here. I think I prefer his Opethy deep growls as opposed to these raspy sounding ones though. :\

    The "h" can mean both depending on the context, and that was me being honest and not humble! ;)
    Yes, Lopez has the rhytm in his blood and I totally agree with that, and the latest albums would be insanely good if he was still drumming for Opeth. At the same time, Axe comes from a completely different musical background with more agressive and pure deathmetal drumming, and I'm so darn impressed at what he's achieved in the band carrying that burden of replacing one of the best drummers ever.

    • @blppt
      @blppt 3 года назад

      He's not just a DM drummer, Axe has a well-rounded palette of training. If he has a fault, its usually that he's TOO precise rather than the loose, groovy feel of Lopez.

  • @XxMusicLyricsLovexX
    @XxMusicLyricsLovexX 12 лет назад

    the fact is, he's getting old. His wife probably says, "what, are you gonna do cookie monster vocals when your'e seventy? You better start creating music you can perform as your age progresses. If not, I will get a divorce and marry someone from Behemoth or something." and he said, " yes, dear." and "Heritage" was born, and now they are Jethro Tull. Simple as that, his bitch made him do it.
