KILLS ME that this perfection of craft isn't more beloved by the masses... The Progressive Rock demonstrated here, is LIFE, emotion, up, down, slow, fast. And always slightly different with each listen.
Could watch Axe go at this all day. He may have struggled to grasp Lopez's groove initially, but Watershed IMO has some of the best drumming moments in their catalogue. Despite his almost awkward style of play his fills are godlike!
why the hell do they never show fredrik solo? any video i watch, it doesn't matter who is videoing the show (professional or amateur in the crowd) no one ever videos fredrik or his fingers when he solo's. i would like to actually see what he does when he melts my face off. just saying
@blackblurable: this is the new keyboardist his name is Joakim Svalberg. It's not Per Wiberg, they were both in the band in 2011. If i'm not mistaken this was one of the first shows with Joakim because Per quit a month before on April 6..and Heritage was released in 2011..depending on what country you reside it was released on different dates in September..(U.S. was on the 20th)
I was there with my eldest son who was celebrating his 16th birthday, opeth were amazing, watched bill Bailey then finished off with slipknot, happy memories.
I am seeing them in December. It will be so awesome. They sound incredibly tight live. Porcupine Tree were incredible when I saw them last February, and I expect no less from their mates Opeth!
Two years In your heart One moment of doubt Two lives Torn apart One second from now Held him In your arms Your fever subside Always safe from harm Kept demons inside Still you always start runnin' Touch the light From the moon Some way mother cried Left us space here
Ah . . . I remember getting up at 4 or 5 in the morning to watch the stream of this show, I was hoping that they would play something from Heritage. I don't think the artwork had even been released yet. Good times.
Ian Thomas what do you mean? He never said this song wasn’t from Watershed. He just said he wished they played something from Heritage cuz this was from 2011.
@niljen92 PT are well worth paying the money to see. They're a very good live act. I am excited for Opeth, too. They are fantastic live (from what I've seen in videos)
muy buenos tio. Gracias por subir el concierto :3 aunque me da rabia la mierda de edición que tiene el concierto con las cámaras, que no enfocan donde tienen que enfocar en ningún solo y enfocan cuando están afinando y tal... xDD
@MetallicOpeth What you hear is the effect of people simply being too far away from the speakers. As sound takes time to travel to different distances from the PA speakers, there is a different phase delay of clapping in different parts of the crowd area. The effect of this is people all clapping in time to different phase lags but sounding out of time with others on the other side of the crowd area, thus it sounds out of time.
@MrGosmo I don't think that's because the quality of the guitar, I think Mikael and Fredrik are such audiophiles they feel the need to check their guitar tunning between songs and even in interludes
@MetallicOpeth it's not big deal, remember that you are in a metal concert, people clap, people scream, people get crazy, I prefer to stay quiet, I don´t give a fuck what others do.
I don't like the way it was recorded too many camera's trick, that's not a photo shoot session, we want to see Opeth live, and fucking great performer as they as always are !
This and heir apparent are the best songs off watershed, I love jamming to those songs. Still Life still best Opeth album. Heritage was pretty weak. Some decent but not a strong album.
@mtduk yeah but there is the problem...they think that they keep up in time but they don't xD...that's the worst when they think that they know but they don't...it's so irritating...
Mikael is so tired to me,cause he've been marryed, and a he singer in bloodbath. In bloodbath Mikael never sang clean. Many live concert DVD's,10 album with Opeth.6 album with bloodbath.I'm afraid even imagine. :D
It's not just the death growls that got lost with Heritage though, they pretty much ditched ALL the heavy distortion and chug riffs, etc...Heritage has some weird ass soft songs that go nowhere on it...that just aren't good...I mean I like some of them like Napenthe but the others are just so bad.
This is the old keyboardist and Heritage wasn't out until the next year. Lol. I'm glad this keyboardist is out. He sings like a pansy honestly. Doesn't complement Mikael's vocals at all. That's just me.
A shot of the drummer's heel is exactly what I want to see during a guitar solo.
There is a better video of this concert song on sky arts

This has some of the best guitar tones and melody I've ever heard.
One of my all time favorite tracks ever
Man the keyboardist is amazingly in tune!
Could watch Axe go at this all day. He may have struggled to grasp Lopez's groove initially, but Watershed IMO has some of the best drumming moments in their catalogue. Despite his almost awkward style of play his fills are godlike!
My favorite song from watershed... When the universe was created by some dark, ancient elder god, this song was on loop for the whole thing.
Lyssnade på denna låt idag faktiskt på Spotify. 🇸🇪🤘
They sound so amazing performing live ♥♥♥
where i can find it in HD?
@@Haildarkartyou can’t

15 second unskippable ad AND a 20 second one after … welcome to the future

Miss you Per.....still looking foward to the new Opeth release...whenever that is \M/

i was there! front row! it was OPETH and it was perfect!
The outro riff reminds me of Animal Magnetism (the song) by Scorpions
Two years
In your heart
One moment of doubt
Two lives
Torn apart
One second from now
Held him
In your arms
Your fever subside
Always safe from harm
Kept demons inside
Still you always start runnin'
Touch the light
From the moon
Some way mother cried

So glad they played this, one of many favourites..
This song is so beautiful !
Ah . . . I remember getting up at 4 or 5 in the morning to watch the stream of this show, I was hoping that they would play something from Heritage. I don't think the artwork had even been released yet. Good times.
Æ Kiwi Dan This is off watershed lol
Ian Thomas what do you mean? He never said this song wasn’t from Watershed. He just said he wished they played something from Heritage cuz this was from 2011.
'One more song we have'? Nice one Yoda
He's like "hold on." LOL
The drums sounding very good, loved the snare!!!
Was there front row!, amazing!, there is none other like Opeth!
WOW!....its just RELENTLESS!
Perfect.
OPETH..........BEST BAND EVER!!!! :D
I really like the backup vocals of the new keyboard player!
I think the keyboard player change is such a big improvement, he enjoys the songs immensely and his background singing is excellent :-D
ara ara açar dinlerim.
Que coros tan espectaculares ! 2:49 uffff
this is what heaven sounds like
@rudyxtx Yes indeed... i just saw them on Monday and the new guy is awesome on backing vocals...
Fucking love playing this song on guitar
@niljen92 PT are well worth paying the money to see. They're a very good live act. I am excited for Opeth, too. They are fantastic live (from what I've seen in videos)
I WAS THERE!!!
what a fucking nice song!
@Warheart11 Amen.
muy buenos tio. Gracias por subir el concierto :3
aunque me da rabia la mierda de edición que tiene el concierto con las cámaras, que no enfocan donde tienen que enfocar en ningún solo y enfocan cuando están afinando y tal... xDD
Per Wiberg was a master on the keyboards... it´s a shame he is out from Opeth... let´s see what the new guy can do.
nice

there's that goddamn snare
I think the biggest reason a lot of people don't like Heritage is because they loved the mix of clean vocals and growling.
Exactly!
fuck. On the record you don´t realize the great potential that this song has, but live...wow mindblowing.
Comus is a fuckin' great band.
i like the new keyboard player! though i'm going to miss Per a great deal!
2:33 - 2:37 HAHAHAHA!!!
14) Opeth - Heir Apparent Wacken Live 2008.avi
@MrGosmo I don't think that's because the quality of the guitar, I think Mikael and Fredrik are such audiophiles they feel the need to check their guitar tunning between songs and even in interludes
opeth are the growls of Mikael. !
alvarooskt no
So during the guitar solo, they decide to film Axe's foot.... Fantastic song though
Rip sonisphere XD
Who doeznt like this marvelous song x(. Damn the song iz soooo fuckin' awesome
is that mr Mendez on bass? kinda hard to tell under all the hair...
@The7thQuark I was there.. I was awestruck and my friend stood there going all out headbanging.. seariously ?!? haha not the right song ;)
6:46 for pouty face!
I like him too! I mean Per was awesome, but it's a good change I think
do opeth have any other songs like this, cause so far this is the only song i like by them.
Porcelain heart
Burden
Closure (in a different way)
5:01 WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MEN!!!!!
Well the new keyboard player is good at backing vocals.
...demons IN-SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII....DE
What is with the camera man and getting a view of Axe through his cymbal? Lol
Why did Toki get a haircut :P
His guitar in this video actually does have prs locking tuners
@ironrushscorp duh, cuz 5 songs is not enough listening to this awesome band :-P
all you noobs getting pissed off about the audience's clap. theyre not off time. its called the speed of sound
@MrGosmo PRS makes some of the best guitars on the planet. Why do they need to get another?!?
Did I get this right by understanding that I'm an exception for liking Mikael's clean vocals better than his growling?
Me too
@MetallicOpeth it's not big deal, remember that you are in a metal concert, people clap, people scream, people get crazy, I prefer to stay quiet, I don´t give a fuck what others do.
i probably like that song more than THEY do xD
@nisoldi that´s not the camera man, it´s the freaking director... probably he has a crush on Mikael, lol
did they boo when mikael said "we have one more song to play"
Joseph Marsh yeah because its ending and they don’t want it too
I don't like the way it was recorded too many camera's trick, that's not a photo shoot session, we want to see Opeth live, and fucking great performer as they as always are !
Mikael needs to get locking tuners on his guitars
lol i wanna see bill bailey
I am really really sad Opeth give it up a metal band.
This whole camera crew is on acid. 3:37 and 5:53
@jmoli89 Per decided to left the band that's why he's not there!
Just realized that Mikael has a faint unibrow.
This and heir apparent are the best songs off watershed, I love jamming to those songs. Still Life still best Opeth album. Heritage was pretty weak. Some decent but not a strong album.
esta canción es una patada en el culo jajaja
really? Perhaps...though Per looked like he belonged in the band more. Per rocked.
Semih Atıf ÖZTÜRK what??
He's always tuning during a song. He needs a guitar that stays in tune. lol
What the fuck is going on with the voice in the first seconds? jajaja lol
there must be something wrong with Mikael's tone here, sounds rather thin
It's open air. Acoustics suck no matter how good their sound is. I hated playing outdoorsbut the drink made up for it.
Am I the only one, who this song reminds Alice in Chains??
hud468 how so?
Why do you call people "Guy" -- that's not my name lol.
Why are they clapping? HOW IS THIS A CLAPPING SONG?
It's not just the death growls that got lost with Heritage though, they pretty much ditched ALL the heavy distortion and chug riffs, etc...Heritage has some weird ass soft songs that go nowhere on it...that just aren't good...I mean I like some of them like Napenthe but the others are just so bad.
@MetallicOpeth Pisses me off. they always clap on the 1 and the 3, instead of the 2 and the 4. and they ALWAYS SPEED UP SO MUCH. GODDAMN SO IRRITATING
but per was hot .. ;(
@MetallicOpeth
Haha, unless you had an entire audience made up of professional musicians it'll always happen
laggy video
Michael was a little bit fucked up or anything like that on this song. Tired of the crowd?
This is the old keyboardist and Heritage wasn't out until the next year. Lol. I'm glad this keyboardist is out. He sings like a pansy honestly. Doesn't complement Mikael's vocals at all. That's just me.
this is the current keyboardist idiot
DarkerThanBlack i love per because his headbanging you know what i mean
