LYRICS
Two years in your hearts
One moment of doubt
Two lives torn apart
One second from now
Held him in your arms
Your fever subside
Always safe from harm
Kept demons inside
Still you always start running
Towards the light from the moon
Some way mother cried
Left us space here, left us space here Видеоклипы
This song is so underrated holy shit
Opeth Jay And Derelict Herds, that song, in my opinion, should've been on the original CD
I've seen it on the Live at Sydney. It was the song I liked the less, now it's my favourite.
whole album is. wow it's grown. you can see the beginning of the trilogy. you know what I mean. future albums
the entire band....
This song should have its own country to be the anthem for
Idk a country that is badass enough haha
The Sovereign Nation of Mikaelopolis
Or at least a city... .on the Moon...
@@u.v.s.5583you read the liner notes. They define Opeth as "a city of the Moon."
This Song so different from the rest of the album , It's like a bridge linking between Watershed and Heritage , Hex Omega feels like it's a hint from Mikael for what to expect from the next album
I feel like this whole album is a prelude to heritage.
Watershed and Pale Communion seem to move at a storybook pace x With Opeth there is never a loss of chapter between songs albums feel like a journey x
@@putridpaul3902 In some ways it is. Mikael intended to write a 'Watershed 2' - another death metal album. However, a few weeks into writing, he decided that it wasn't really coming from the right place, from the head rather than the heart. He deleted all the songs and then wrote Heritage
@@sammyloehnis3373 actually Mendez convinced him to change musical direction
I feel like Bridge of Sighs in the hidden bonus tracks was the real bridge link here^^
watershed is actually so good
I mean, I feel like people need to acknowledge that this album is one of the absolute best ever made... It's so damn listenable from start to end, which puts it in rare company to begin with. Add to that the ambition... There's so much here that is just HUGE in terms of sound and arrangement. This is Mt. Rushmore shit for anyone who is into rock music
Yes, the best Opeth ever made imo. The storytelling through the compositions is out of this world
@@cterrel You couldn't be more delusional. It's not even top 3 in their discography. You definitely don't listen to alot of music if this is one of the best albums ever made. It's not even rock by the way.
@@PGWilson007 Not remotely close to the best album they've made. Lmao
@@cterrel I like this album but your comment is honestly laughable. I definitely can't think of atleast 20 albums off the top of my head that exceed that criteria by alot.
My music theory eacher in high school showed us this song for a lesson. That was six years ago. This song only got better. Lol, holy crap.
+Jay Graham Your music theory teacher is an amazing person.
Awesome
Jay I'd love to know more. What did he use this as an example of?
He used it as an example of song dynamics and structure.
Interesting. Remember what specifically in terms of structure? Opeth songs are notoriously weird from a theory standpoint.
One of the best songs ever done by mankind.
Saw Opeth live three times, one of the best bands I've ever seen live. Probably tied with Tool in terms of how they sound live vs audio. They always have atmospheric and amazing shows.
Saw them too in Porto, Portugal I think in 2007. AMAZING!
+TheMissing8 I think Opeth (as Tool) sounds better live than in their recordings. Both are fucking great bands!
+MelindaHatebreeder that's some good shit right there, I say the progression of tool with the intensity of lamb of god. This tour was amazing though, I saw them at the glass house in Pomona California and it was like taking DMT I suppose, or an amazing dream you never want to wake up from. Ahhh Opeth :)
Absolutely.
Phrygian dominant harmonies, melodic electric piano parts, shred guitars, syncopated drums.. Every fckin note/passage in this song is beyond beautiful. True masterpiece
This album has so many great moments, and it's been aging like a fine wine.
The ending gives me chills.
Dude when it all comes back in I fucken can't help but smile. Soooo epic it's freaking awesome
Omg same for me. That drop in the bass...it's like the end of times. Awesome awesome band. It's the reason I have tattooed on me 😁
Best outro to any album ever, such power and emotion.
those drum fills at outro... Godlike
Axe rules in this song
This song is pure genius. So unorthodox in structure. The intro is absolutely hauntingly, doomishly (not a word, I know), insane. The hammering double bass, the drum rolls, and unconventional riff. The outro is pure evil too.
It's a fuckin' marvel
Still here and listening in 2021
So good I know !!
People don't get it..this music rips through time..
Frl
Ripped through my soul that’s for certain
Classic
Hex Omega and The Drapery Falls are my favorite Opeth songs.
Ive always thought they have similar beginnings
Excellent choices
Face of melinda
Me tooooooooooooooo !!!0:))))))))))))))))))))
One from each of Opeth's best CDs.
For me, this is one of those great songs that I wake up with ringing in my head one day, even if I didn't hear it for a year
Everyone should listen to this masterpiece
24 people had a moment of doubt
Lorenzo Barichello omfg i laughed so hard XD
It's funny how this comment is 1 years old, but number hasn't increased yet, still 19
@@senssv9407 I know, right? It's amazing
1 of them don't have it anymore

My most lovely track of Opeth, 5:20 ruffles my heart.
The Opeth'riff's are fantastic
What an incredible final track.
Best song for me off this album and hell yeah the ending is superbly done. Wish more albums started with heir apparent and finished with hex omega. Both awesome songs. Along with the rest of the album.
blackblurable This album starts with coil. Nice try though.
Opethfullcovers i guess my friend recorded it wrong
I never thought I would like this kind of music...I absolutely love it!!!
It's for everyone
Best song. In my life right now. The fades. With this song you lift me up then bring me down. I always feel positive after the song tho. Because of the last versus. I'm going to listen again now.
I agree, also ynqwie malmsteens "blackstar" live at budokan In 94 is very chill to listen to when stressed
Opeth are brilliant as they are one of the heaviest bands but one of the softest bands out there, sometimes, paradoxically, at the same time.
Ending brought out a tear the first time I heard it
Opeth has been a special band for me since I was re-introduced to them in 2011 during a period of personal crisis. Their music gets to the core of my spirit. I find a lot of it to be incredibly melancholy in the most beautiful way. I love their heavier groovy sound with coherent gutteral growls to their more bluesy influenced slower softer songs. I don't just like their music, I love it.
A beautiful segue into the new phase. Hessian Peel also, it's old school middle part nonwithstanding.
I feel this is the "good bye gift" + a prelude for the pure prog era,the song is heavy but is not death metal, have no growls for example
This song is a key to the next album (heritage)
God damn how they is so good!
Opeth music is something out of time, and everytime i listen to it i hear something new that i hadn’t heard before and i’ve been listening since the beginning of the Opeth storm
What a beautiful album, its so underrated yet so special, thank you Opeth for this amazing masterpiece.
Every time I listen to this song it gets better...
Haha I know Jesus, it’s far too good for us.
if I ever need any internal organs removed I'll ask them to put this song in it's place, I'll be just fine!
Nice
A worthy description sir.
The song that changed everything.
An amazing and beautiful closing track for this awesome record called Watershed.
I love all their records. I think they do good quality music.
The end is moving and uplifting. Brilliant.
One of many Opeth masterpieces. Seriously fucking good 😍😍😍
Thiss the song we're going to send out into space so they can hear
My eyes began watering and my soul hurts. Anyone else?
Epic outro
definitely one of opeth's finest songs!
Their best for me. It’s beautiful beyond description really.
Its crazy the first time I saw them live I was 12ish for the 2001 Blackwater park world tour and Im 28 now and saw them last night. Those damn swedes dont age. Sounded amazing as ever, but wont forget that 2001 show with about 100 people in attendance at the tiny old fitzgeralds in houston.
Alexander Lindsey that's so beautiful.. I'm really proud of how far they've come
When we hit sixty or so we age, fucking loads, that beautiful skin we have? Yeah that goes
99% of the world is missing out.... sad
You are not wrong
After some consideration, I think this is my favorite Opeth song.
Mine too. It’s maybe my favourite song.
Oh my gosh this song is so good.
I know this is totally off topic, but this would have been perfect for a James Bond theme. It has the right level of bombast to be one.
Damn his solo hits so hard :
Wake demons wake
man caligulas horse took major inspiration from this music on marigold
🤘🏼Opeth forever ❤️.... in my metalized heart 😍
An epic strong song. A gem without doubt.
This song makes me feel powerful.
Sure does.
this is what i call music
I like this song. Very peaceful for some reason tho. The lyrics are tough. Keep it up!
Opeth, "a city of the Moon" it says on the liner notes. Trippy.
MASTERFUL
Goosebumps!
probably my favorite Opeth song ever written
It reminds me of a shepherd waking yup to do his duty anf while looking over the pasture while the sun rises he gathers his thoughts and reaps his rewqrd for the day
OMG the drums at 5:45 and on :0 I love you Opeth
Perfect way to cap off death metal Era opeth
Just got a patch for these guys to sew onto my jacket. Wanted to show 10 seconds of this song to my partner to show them who they were and I ended up listening to the whole thing.
The intro is fun to play.
Love this song. You guys should come tour in the U.S.
Las Vegas. August ✊
If falling in sweet sweet love was a sound, it would be the bassline in this song.
So brilliant, evil and beautiful
I used to think this song was a weaker effort...until I saw them play it live. Now I understand how wrong I was.
agreed, this song was sick as fuck live.
I go to prollt 10 to 20 concets a summer anf at least 3 to 5 every fall/winter since i was 18. Im 30 now.....never seen a better live performance by ANYONE in ANY genre. Theyre beyond talented..they're savants
i envy you.
@@omgwasgeht It was at Radio City Music Hall, and the transition from the quiet passages to the huge, bombastic heavier parts literally consumed the entire auditorium. It was surreal.
How anyone at anytime could hear instrumentation and writing like that and call it a weak effort....
0:47 reminds me of Diablo 2 music
yes, and I still can't figure out why! :)
Yes, I searched for this comment, thinking I can't be the only one. :))
Shoutout to the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time!
I know the song released earlier, but song's theme eeriely resembles " Fear and Hunger 2: Termina"
Masterpeice, 11 out of 5
good album outro
STIIIIIIIIIIIILL YOU ALWAYS START RUNNIIINN

The final riff could be from Buzzo of the Melvins.
The name sounds like something I'd name a song I made in my mind
3:19
If I will go to hell, this song will be playing in the front gate as Dante Alighieri
described it.
Holy fuck
Who's that on the cover art? The King in Yellow? Somebody toxic and powerful.
The lyrics are genius. But could anyone tell me the meaning behind the song name?
Hex = Magic/Curse
Omega = Final/Lowest/Worst
Make of it what you will pal
Caligula's Horse, Marigold.
My favorite comment I've seen on the Marigold video is "what if we made Haken play Hex Omega?"
The ending is Ragnarok!
How come I didn't know about this.fuck me this is so fucking good. Please excuse my language.
Welcome aboard.
😳🍻
En güzel şarkıları olduğu için az dinleniyor, en kötü şarkıları bu olsaydı, çok dinlenir idi \m/
What a way to end an album.
that little guitar riff is soooo fucking heavy. one of the heaviest in rock history, call of ktulu heavy. they lucked onto it though judging by their other stuff.
The outro riff is a fuck you while staring at the sky
Thanks for not closing the comments 😪Dunno why YT does this as default :|

Man, this is the worst song of the album and it's so gooooood! Best Opeth album no doubt!
You just put me in an emotion roller coaster.
Battossai3000 nope man. the weakest, not worst.
mmmmmmmm Idk, there is Heir Apparent
The best album is ghost reveries
This song and The Lotus Eater are easily the most profound on the record, in my opinion. Get into the lyrics. I talked with Mikael about this one and he was like "No one knows what that song is about." Feels like this one is secretly near and dear to him, as I'm sure many are. There's some really intense archetypal shit going on lyrically, about psyche and family and relationships in general. This album marked the turning point where Opeth's lyrics went from being mostly romanticized fantasy to being about devastating personal loss, much more psychological in nature.
where am i
