- Jessica Kovacevic, the talent agent for Amber Heard, testified in the actress' defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, telling the jury about Heard's rise to getting the "Aquaman" part and what happened after the film. Kovacevic testified that despite being lauded for 'Aquaman' she was given a smaller part because of a smear campaign by Johnny Depp's attorney Adam Waldman, who called her abuse allegations a hoax.

I watched the movie before I knew any of this and I just thought her chemistry with Jason Momoa was awful and her acting stunk. I forgot she was the same person who had been married to JD. When I found out she was the one who had been married to JD I felt like it was the reason she probably got the role.

Everyone loves Jason Momoa, Willem Dafoe, and Nicole Kidman. Plus the graphics were awesome. I think Heard was the weak point in the film.

Clearly she's not all that successful when she's saying right here in this testimony that Amber has had no deals or endorsements since the movie, beyond considerations for her in Aquaman 2, which from what I hear they are pushing her role in it down to 10 minutes, if she ends up actually being in it. And she's ruined her own opportunities. Easily proven false. Aquaman has a box office close of 1.14 billion dollars. Not bad at all, but nowhere near number 1. Avengers, a movie that came out almost a decade before, closed at 1.5 billion. Age of Ultron closed at 1.4 billion. Infinity War closed at 2 billion. Endgame closed at 2.79 billion. Those are just 4 movies from a single other studio. This doesn't take other MASSIVE franchises into account, but I know for certain Aquaman is not even in the top 20 for "most successful" movies ever.
Also, to be clear I am not trying to stir any DC vs Marvel arguments. Avengers was just the first film I thought of that was certainly a bigger release. I'm sure The Dark Knight easily cleared 1.14 billion, same with Man of Steel and The Justice League.
Edit: None of those DC movies have grossed more than Aquaman.

Let's just be real, Amber Heard is simply not the next Oscar-bound acting genius (a là Streep, Winslet, Blanchett) nor an iconic, show-stopping beauty (Hepburn, Monroe Lamar). She was young and spent a lot of time/energy on her look and made the right connections (JD). Aging happens to all of us, and the petals are starting to fall off the rose. I disagree that her trajectory was on the path to leading roles/true stardom. She doesn't have the talent, no longer has the looks...and her self-inflicted reputation proceeds her. 1. Her role in Aqua man was supporting role not lead role as the movie title suggests. No one really cares who MJ is in Spider Man or Luis in Superman.
2. Her share of screen time in Aqua Man was not that impressive nor was her acting. What mattered for that particular role was looking pretty and having strong chemistry with the lead role which she did not appear to show. It was not a heavy lifting role. She was more a free rider to the success of the film rather.
3. If she shut her mouth up and moved on with her life without defarmating JD, her life would have had a better chance but given her acting skills and the fact that her appearance was no longer as charming as before puts a huge question mark if she could have been a world top tier.
4. If the loss of her future income was from potential marriage with Elon and potential divorce settlement she lost out, yes it might have been $100m, otherwise very hard to justify the figure.
