@@ocinidolegna In the very beginning, yes. But they changed that pretty early, from my guesses.
So the story was more of two sisters, and a prophecy.
Then the song Let it go was made - and the filmmaker changed the whole theme. Which I find very sad! Since I can tell they rushed with the plot in Frozen (the one we now have today).
@@BioLivbanon Actually from what I've heard, Elsa was still villainous until the studio's work on the song _Let It Go_ resulted in them realising what they truly wanted for Elsa's character. The film had previously been in "development hell", but when they finally resumed working on it again in the 2010s, Elsa remained the villain of the story, intentionally kidnapping Anna from her wedding, freezing her heart, and descending upon the kingdom with an army of snowmen to stop Anna from kissing Hans and thawing her heart. Although even by this draft, they intended for Elsa to be a sympathetic villain and wanted it to be sisterly love, not romantic love, that saved the day.

I'm torn on this scene. On the one hand, the film did a great job of showing just how much seperation there's been between the two, as shown by their reserved nature around each other during the coronation.
On the other hand, I really do love these sorts of moments, and it seems very natural to the characters, so including it wouldn't have been a bad thing at all.
I'm right with you there. While it seems to be a great scene, it completely goes against the rift that was developed. They would've had to rewrite the entire coronation party to fit.

Katherine S I think there was room that they could've shown more about what freedoms and interactions they had as they grew up. Thinking about it too much will melt your brain though. Still no room for this scene however.

What is left made this movie TOO sad. It It left the impression that they never interacted again with each other for the rest of their childhood.
MingDynasty700 Well I could see that being a thing. After all, Elsa was scared of hurting anyone, especially Anna, so she would have made it a point to avoid everyone for all those years. Plus you really needed to understand the depth of their estrangement to make the rest of the drama that much more potent. Was it really sad? Yes. But it needed to be.
TheEpona92 I understand, "no contact for all those years" made a much deeper an stronger story, and movies are all about a strong story and a good cast.
You have to admire Elsa and Anna for still loving each other so much after being separated for something like a decade.

***** It might be good for a sequel, Elsa threw away her crown so they might need a new crown and possibly a new coronation to keep up tradition. As for the ice breaking that vase, I don't think I've seen Elsa break anything when it was just completely frozen, so I guess her powers could get even stronger.

This may be the single best illustration of "murder your darlings" I have ever seen. It's adorable, it's funny, it's charming as all hell... and it has absolutely no place in Frozen. The emotional weight of Elsa's AND Anna's arcs relies on them having barely exchanged five words in the years since their parents' death, maybe even before, right up to the party after the coronation. That relationship, and the strain it's been placed under by 13 years of unshared history, is crucial to the entire course of the movie. Elsa's secret just doesn't carry the same oomph without the estrangement.
So, great scene, guys! And good call cutting it!

As someone who's aspiring to be a story board artist, it's truly inspirational to see the work these people did in order to make a scene that wasn't even animated. It just shows their dedication.

It would make sense they deleted this scene, but it could have easily been moved, honestly.
Shove it in at the end of the movie, had an entire segment of Anna's wedding with Kristoff. Coulda made a decent scene to show how close they became after that.

Honestly, I hope they don't make a sequel. The film was perfect and said all it needed to. I'd much rather see Disney crafting an entirely new story, rather than re-treading old ground (regardless of how good that ground is). Their last several films have been great and Big Hero 6 will probably follow that streak.
BallisticMedicine I agree, I love Frozen and that's exactly why I don't want a second movie - the story is perfect as it is. But if Disney does insist on a sequel then I wouldn't object to 15 min shorts, like they do for Toy Story. That way they could keep the Frozen universe "alive" without compromising the main story or ruining its characters.

First WTF did i just watch that was hilarious. Second change the scene a bit to say like a ball set after the events of the film, possibly add Kristoff and Olaf for added LOLs and some animation and expanded out a little and you have a funny as hell short to add on to the dvd/blu-ray release

MissJrCupcake I wouldn't mind *if* they made it good. Lion King 2 level *at the very least*. Or they could pull a Rescuers Down Under. Rescuers Down Under is the *only* Disney sequel I've ever seen that was actually better than the original, in my opinion at least. It was also severely underrated, in my opinion, but that's beside the point. Can't see how they would pull that off with Frozen, admittedly, but if they could somehow top it, that would be *amazing*.
Long story short, if they make a sequel, it better be frickin' amazing. And if they do, this scene, or one like it, would be great to see.

This HAS to become a short clip taking place after they've reunited! Elsa and Anna together are just so enjoyable and heartwarming.

No, no, this scene was designed before that concept existed. The scene was cut after they decided upon Elsa shutting people out. Not the other way around.

They should make Frozen 2 and try to make this scene again without the coronation day about to happen mentioned. Still Disney if u see this me and everybody else wants a sequel because the movie is so great and it would be nice to see how people get use to Elsa's power like if they like it or want to kill her and how Anna and her are doing good together after years of being shut out. It would see more character development and a great way to see changes in characters. It is a good idea since this movie was a success.
This is making want an alternate version of Frozen where they actually continue to be close after the ice-head incident, just with Elsa being secretive about her powers. It could result in an interesting scenario where Anna suddenly realises that Elsa had been lying to her this whole time, which on its own could cause a huge split in their relationship

They should have definitely kept this scene. This way the audience would have some idea of how the two girls interacted all their lives even if Anna was always being "shut out" by Elsa. Without this scene, we were left with an impression they barely knew what the other one looked like. =/

I'm glad they took it out. I like the scene but the creators were going for that isolation feeling between them. It would undo some of the lonely/painful sadness build up that had been going on if they kept it.

***** I'd say toned down, slightly altered version, where the interaction is somewhat colder, Ana is in her room without permission, Elsa lets her stay and goof around for a bit, but it ends with Elsa asking Ana to leave her room, and then repeating her question in an urgent tone, saying she needs to hurry and dress because she's busy. Ana nods blank faced, leaves the room, but is shown upon her exit that it hurt her to be chased out (probably) yet again.
Why didn't they put it in the end or the second movie?! It is perfect

😂😂😂 I love Anna so much, but I was they'd animate this scene not to put in the movie just as an extra scene to watch.
I know everyone including me would loved to see this scene in the movie, but Im glad they took it away because it doesn't fit the movie. ¿Why?
1.- The movie showed us the separation of anna and elsa and how elsa shuted out anna most of the time, in this scene they seem to have a good "sistership" like in the end of the movie.
2.- Elsa looks more like Anna's mom, not her sister.
What you're saying is a matter of course... Everyone may think like 1. But... I don't agree with 2. neither.
