you know what, that`s actually an important topic for me as there are many times when I can`t have any guitar with me but only laptop, and still I want to compose stuff. But man, painting notes in piano roll, especially guitar parts can take forever. Unfortunately I don`t play keys. Guess there`s no easy recipe to make music on go as a guitarist
Yeah that’s the thing. And unfortunately it’s a lot of work to program midi guitar and use that workflow. It can really go a long way though as sometimes guitars aren’t needed in a part of a song but you never quite know what to do. Good practice if anything
@@BrendonKPadjasek if there were some really compact midi guitars that I could assemble like constructor, would take it with me and use everywhere. But most stuff I see is outdated and not abandoned for decade or more
@@BrendonKPadjasek yeah, it's really nice to see you step out of your typical comfort zone. Makes people like me also get inspired to do something like that
Hi dude, loved this, I've been making alot of metal without guitars for years and it was really cool to see an inside look on how you as a guitarist would utilise synths to do the same 🔥
Sick! Do you have any songs out that I can check out? And thank you! Yeah I basically just transcribed whatever I would have done on guitar to synths haha
Ehh thanks so much my friend! Yeah had a blast making it. I was definitely thinking about making more songs like this and doing a little project like it
@@BrendonKPadjasek I'd went into a little bit of a synthwave kick but started digging for some heavier stuff for inspiration... Carpenter Brut is a good starting point I've found for darker electronic stuff.
Hahaha thank you. Part of me also wishes that too haha. It was a fun exercises and I’m sure if I had more than 2 hours to make it , I would have made it so guitars weren’t as needed Though guitars would make it sicker regardless. Thanks for watching !
Thank you so much. Honestly I’m not sure no enjoyed making it a lot that I may develop it a bit further and do some sort of visualizer for it. If enough people like it enough for me to justify doing it haha Thanks so much!
@@BrendonKPadjasek they used midi drums for the entirety of the catch 33 album because they liked the sound of them in the mix and it was easier than thomas learning all the drum parts
That was awful! I mean, the song is ok, it reminds me of Midnight Fight Express' OST which is kinda cool, bu the song is not remotely metal. My Own Private Alaska made metal with piano, guitar is not mandatory!
I’ll have to check it out to see what you’re talking about. Thanks for watching anyways even though you hated it! I appreciate those 15 minutes either way
I am sorry, I failed to convey what I was trying to say! I meant the song was awful as a metal song, but it is cool and reminded me of the OST I've mentioned. About what genre it belongs to I feel I'm not capable to say because I'm not familiarized with EDM and such. I know it is not metal at all! 😀
@Davier9999 no worries! yeah I’m not sure either haha. I used typical metal movements but I guess you’re right. What would you say would have made it metal/ metalcore?
@@BrendonKPadjasek I think that using a different rhythm in the drums, or using something closer to conventional drums like ezdrummer. The samples you've used are really good for trap and EDM, but I think they don't give much of a metal vibe. Now I'm thinking how I would do a metal track without guitars too. Not an easy task!

@insertanynameyouwant5311 oh I meant the midi guitar plugins like Odin 3 and Djaamaasta
@@BrendonKPadjasekyeah plugins are good, just need some compact guitar-like device on the road, maybe someday someone will release it
@insertanynameyouwant5311 I can’t imagine what that would look like
Yo, the production in this video is fucking insane
Hahhaa thank you so much. Believe it or not everything was written within that 1:52 time allowed on my SD card

The Algorithm does this. Mixes in guitar too but essentially writes prog with synths
Oh heard their stuff. Definitely cool as hell. Also Perturbator does that as well
Haha Love the intro
hahaha thanks my man! I had fun making it with my buddy
This is next Doom soundtrack. The weak drums sounding like its midi from 1993 also make it a great thowback reference.

😍
My brother who is actually an actor apparently
that chorus slaps
