Yes, this still kicks ass in 2024
the most cool astrophysicist
Astrotologist actually.
What the hell is an astrotologist? He is an astrophysicist.
Brian May - PHD in Astrophysics from Imperial College London. All-time great guitar player, songwriter, producer, vocalist, and author. Renaissance man on par with Da Vinci.
"Astrology" is made up bullshit. Astronomy and astrophysics are scientific studies.
He has also been appointed CBE ( Commander of the Order of the British Empire ).
Those blondes are the hardest working backup singers I have ever seen! Damn, they are into it!
quite!!
Don't know how many times I've watched and just noticed they have different hair colour.
Those backing singer are .......... incredible
Spot on... I can watch 'em all day.
That poor guy on camera 4 had to keep shots of them all the time.
I always thought that May's voice is more tender and soft tenor. Man, was I proven wrong today. Hell, he sang that with passion.
HE generally does but as proven he can pull out the hard rock vocals when needs be!
Way better than Lambert for sure
@@philfitnesspt6139 Technically not, debatable when it comes to tastefulness. Lambert is an exceptionally talented and professional singer. Whether he fits Queen is highly opinionated, but as a singer Lambert is awesome in technical standards.
I'm not really big fan of Lambert's style, but the guy can pull of extraordinarily hard stuff consistently and control. Even more consistent than Mercury, but Freddie was the soulful voice and color of the band in many more regards. I like Freddie more like anyone else, but as a singer myself I can't but respect the guy that honorably fills Freddie's boots after Paul Rodgers.
It easy because he's not doing all the song /high notes
@@AlexRooneyComposer that's not a hard rock voice wtf
Damn, Brian May as frontman too? I never knew. This does not disappoint at all.
Brian sang a bunch of songs on the albums. My favorites of his are '39 and Sleeping on the Sidewalk. He also sang the first verse of Who Wants to Live Forever. He just never sang lead live until after Freddie died though he did sing backup at every show
@@CallistaZM 3 verses of WWTLF actually
Jason T. Aho no replacing Freddie he was the best frontman ever
And this is an oficial live album!
@@CallistaZM He did sing lead on Hello Mary Lou at Wembley '86
This is one of the best versions that I've ever heard of this song. For sure Freddie is the best, but Brian's voice matches perfectly with the song.
So surely.
Brian made this song thats why :D
Well it should, he wrote it. :)
I'd leave a like but it's already got 39. I wouldn't wanna ruin it.😌
Best version? I am wondering if you heard other versions?
This is the greatest version of this song I've heard. Brian has a great voice
No not really, Freddies version at wembley Live aid 1985 is still the best version ever of this song, but this is the second best version ever made... :)
Excellent guitarist, astrophysicist, PhD, a knight, and all around nice person....long live brian may...may you and your family be blessed😁
Nobody will ever replace Freddie, one of the best frontmen ever. But this version is fantastic, just spot on. Amazed I didn't realize Brian May could sing so well, and his guitar is always incredible. The band is amazing and the two backup singers certainly were welcome.
I attended this concert and was one that was the best i have ever seen. I will never forget leaving the concert to go to my car to come home, and at the back of the Brixton Academy were a number of queen fans all together playing Bohemian Rhapsody, brought a tear to my eye and will stay with me until i go upto the big rock gig in the sky
Oh wow you lucky jammer! Must of been incredible!!
I also attended the concert. Absolutely brilliant and amazing set. 😊
The whole band is soooooo good as is monster performances on vocal and guitar by Brian May!
Bass and drums from Black Sabbath. Keys from Queen. Plus 2 banging blonde sopranos...who would expect anything less?
This live version is 10/10...just perfect!! Pay attention on the drums in the second solo at the end...cozy was just an amazing drummer..big losto in 1998. BEST version without Fred! 💯🔥🔥🔥
Cozy doesn't get the respect he deserves imo. Very underrated.
Cozy was a beast!!!
How I wish that Brian had done more than two solo albums, I always thought his voice was amazing, and I like his voice better than anyone else's in the band. I remember hearing him in a video saying he foolishly thought he could sing. Dear man, you most certainly can sing.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Me: "An astrophysicist"
Wonder which pays more?
I'm pretty sure as an astrophysicist he would not be worth two hundred million dollars today. And imagine, his dad wanted him to get a proper job, who knew. I'm so happy that he put his astrophysicist career on hold for 30 years. Think what we would have missed.
I don't know why alot of people are surprised Brain has a decent voice. All the Queen Records have great back up vocals. Two hard band's that had unbelievable back up singers and great instrumentals. Uriaheep and of course Queen.
Kurt Sherrick You forgot Styx, very very good singers
Always loved Queen, but I think Yes had the best backing vocals ever
And brian even sung on some songs, such as 39
decent?? Brian’s vocals are fucking awesome
@@charlienorton2337 When I think of great vocals Mercury, Gillian, David Byron, Paul Rodgers. Dio. Greg Lake.
I’m just now discovering Brian May’s solo exploits. I can’t believe I’ve missed his band’s great talent and contribution to Rock all these years. A forever Queen fan, Brian respectfully stands out on his own!
I think I'm the target audience for the stellar editing work that keeps cutting to the backup singers.
2:00 they played hammer to fall so well that Freddie dropped hammers from heaven XD
I'll see myself out...
Cozy s double bass kick in this song just adds to its rockin brilliance !
Brian and Roger were two superb singers in their own right who wound up in the same band as the GOAT of them all!
BRIAN MAY wrote this amazing Queen Song.
It's crazy how amazing Brian is as a lead singer:o
He has a much better live range than FM
@@yuccatree4298 so did Rodger... I mean all 3 were brilliant
@@yuccatree4298did
I loved the May band! Cozy Powell is amazing!
yeahhh
Cozy Powell will always be the greatest drummer ever (my thoughts, huh??)
Without a doubt the best guitarist in the world. ❤️✨
What a brilliant guitarist Brian is today is 2020 and he's just been voted best rock guitarist ever
.the best guitar player in the world...this song is all of us
2:04 -- Oh man! Those hammers that fall! TOO funny!
And then those people waving them around: 2:14 -- super hilarious and cute and funny! All the way to the end.
What a fun gift from the show!
Jesus Christ this just JAMS! Way to go Brian, top notch all the way!!! Cozy Powell on drums just killin' it....
WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!
I love Bri's shirt(yes, I'm Greek)!
@@interestingthings8598 ΕΛΛΑΣ -> HELLAS (the Greek or rather ...hellenic name for Greece)
Underrated voice
This is definitely the best version of this song. Brian is the greatest performer and nobody can sing his songs like he does
those back up singers can bust a move ❤️🤘🏻
Cathy and Shelley can sing at my birthday party any time!
"HERE, WE STAND, HERE WE FALL, HISTORY WONT CARE AT ALL"
Brian May: easily my favorite guitarist. And his singing is very underrated.
And this is one of Brian's (and Queen's) best songs.
Queued all day but BOY was it worth it! Front row. Great night.
Brian May, never disappoints, the best hands down 👏👏👏☮☮☮🌟🌟🌟
Awesome Bri!
I bet you always thought Freddie "stripped down" because he was an exhibitionist!
When you're giving everything singing, dashing around the stage and playing an instrument as energetically as you do plus are under "hot" lights you are dripping wet in no time at all. Shedding the gear is a must. Love the "stripped down" look.
Awesome version....Cozy is a beast!
Goosebumps❗💥❤️
Spike Edney gettin' it on wid the backup bunnies... You go, Keyboardist, go!
Jon Dunmore Spike always has the goofiest look on his face...but dang...he can play !!!
so mesmerized by his vocals .. just can't get enough of it! Love you Brian May! You're the best!
I fucking love this man. Hes been my superman since as long as I could process a melody. And I've seen him live a couple times with Queen, up close and even shared a private exchange but I wish I had seen him solo in his prime. Brian May is the KING of rock guitar.
And such a beautifully gentle and humble man. He is what we should all strive to be.
All hail Dr. Bri.
May...Powell...Murray...WHAT A BAND!!!
Exactly... WHAT-A-BAND!!!!!! 💥💥💥💥
Edney.
Went to see Brian twice on this tour - Cardiff & Nottingham. Managed to get on the front row in Cardiff and reached up and touched his foot (how sad is that!!!)
This is the most more-is-more rendition of this song I think I've ever heard, but I'm kind of here for it.
Fabulous way to end a great show, i bought the cassette (remember them?) originally and still have it, wish it was still available as a DVD, maybe Brian will get round to re-releasing it?. Brings back great memories from all thos years ago and kept alive the spirit of Queen when we thought it was all over. Have seem them with Paul Rogers and Adam Lambert, still great shows entertaining another generation with Freddie's memory.
Still available as a DVD??? It was never released on DVD
Wow!!! Who knew??? Man, he has such an awesome show!
All the songs by Brian at Brixton are fabulous!
Best greetings 4 all of You from Poland-Land of Queen fans!!!
I am so glad I found this, what a great way to start my day today. Excellent band and of course there is Brian, guitarist extraordinaire. Love this! I am glad Brian is still rockin'.
Great performance! And those backing singers? Superb !😍🤘
Fantastic band - Cozy Powell on drums and Neil Murray on bass as well. Fabulous stuff.
Glad to have seen this FABULOUS lineup here in Buenos Aires, in 1992!!
Red Special is beautifull!!
Mr Brian May on the guitar, at his best ! Love to hear the solo guitar he played on the middle... Great !!
The Brian May Band,I love them all.
I doubt there’s anything Brian May can’t do musically the man is a true talent…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow. Best cover of this song Ive ever heard.
Great vocals by Brian
Brian May - Neil Murray And Cozy Powell 👏👏👏👏
Check out the Black Sabbath song "when death calls" they're all playing on it
Terrific, the three of them, absolutely outstanding 💥💥💥💥💥💥
Excellent version! It had all that same energy as Live Aid 1985, although it never could be the same without Freddie.
The sound production is absolutely amazing! So fat and full! I cant believe I missed this tour.
God bless Cozy = ) I met him outside Newcastle City Hall in 1989 after a Sabbath show meeting him will remain with me as long as I live
Cozy Powell killing it on the drums as always
A fine applaudable testament to the longevity and talent of the incomparable Brian May, and an enduring song, the legacy of Queen. Written in 1984, I think we all questioned indeed, what the hell is this life all about, what ARE we all fighting for?? More exploitation from the ruling powers? More slavery? Or something better, but the song does not expect that. We're just waiting for the Hammer to fall, as though the improving gist of history has been lost, defeated, the social revolution since the 1960's squandered. We were the Champions, fighting to the end. But the underlying gist to prosper, to better, and progress the ordinary people has been defeated since 1960. Sublimated as we all have been into the hypocrisies, the unfair unashamed careless greed, of the damning and ruling elites. Enslaved and powerless again, barely surviving in our own country. All the money stolen! Shit running into our rivers. And on the brink of war, to destroy the common man, who wasn't savvy enough to play the rich man's game. Haven't the ruler's deceived so well yet again! Against the true Brits who were behind the band Queen when it seemed so glorious. I wish they had made a better and clearer statement, about the abuses since then that we have all endured, in their songs. Maybe not fashionable enough, but, that's what music is for, to tell the truth and inspire the true spirit in a nation. Where money is not our God. But our hearts blessed! is our adoration and song. Loving each other. The unbreakable bond that surpasses a mortal existence. We were raised up to there! Britain was Great! in our lifetimes, since Normandy. Since Trafalgar. Not anymore. Just disingenuous using, now. The accomplices of elitist assassin's. I mourn.
I like this version, Love Brian to much. He has a different voice, softly, charming like him. Great performace for his song.
Great show! 🥰🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❤️
This to me is My Queen. A ROCK band to rival no other in history.
Rock on Bri!😍🔥
My first time hearing brian sing this and he did an absolutely AMAZING job with singing definitely got a like 😊
Extremely freaking awesome!!!
Unbelievable Brian. I started cry
Woooow. Go Brian! His vocals are PERFECT for this song. Now i wonder if was singing on the original recording with Freddie. The diction, phrasing, everything!
How strong was Brian voice for that - wow!
A lot stronger through being at the front x
Brian May Official Hey, who's this hot young stud??? ;-)
Amazing vocals, Bri! Two thumbs up!
I was working in the bar at this gig and saw the whole thing live, I remember it well, time goes too fast.
Brian May rocks One more time! Hot version!
Awesome voice Brian
Wow....God bless you Brian.
I wish Brian had done more solo stuff... I really liked Back to The Light and Another World
He still has it! 🎶🎶🎶
Holy shit Batman! This may be blasphemy but this is my favourite version. Hells teeth top notch recipe, great vocals, smoking guitar work, pounding drumming, and super hot and talented backing singers.
Wow the mighty Cozy Powell playing this version of Roger's Taylor drums, absolutely incredible
What a gorgeous, sexy man, and he is more than capable in being a frontman with his amazing voice and stage presence.
I was just reading about Cozy Powell and all the acts he performed with. Just about everyone was on the list. The guy was an iron man!
I just love how the cameramen love Cathy Porter the singer...and so do I!!!
I remember buying this on vhs in 1994 dam thing chewed the tape.....Brian at his solo best .
Brian, you rock!
What an awesome concert this is!! Wish I could go back 23 years. Would love to had been there!!!!
That is the way to end a show! Absolutely kick the audience's ass!
SuperbLy beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘🌹😘🌹😘😘😘🙏♥️
I saw him play on this tour at Barrowlands and Albert Hall. Fucking brilliant.
Brian may one of the very best,,,👌
Brian, aeternal Master ⭐
WOW!!! Just WOW!!!! ♥️
Fantastic!!!
Wasn't aware of just how high Brian mays vocal range goes up. Such a warm and dark tone in his voice, but still hHitting those Bs like a champ, holy cow.
Always kind of assumed that he'd lmhave to leave the higher parts to Freddie and especially Roger. I guess I have to go back and listen to a lot of queen vocal arrangements and spot Brian's tone in those higher parts. What a nice reason to revisit great music.
Thanks for the video!
Brian actually does the "rich or poor or famous" middle section better than Freddie did live.
Most underrated Queen song IMO.
Yep. With just one performance, Brian destroyed all Freddie's performances of this song. Lol.
@@erdave2309 if you reach the note doesn't mean that you did a better performance... The power and the color of the two voices are not comparable. Brian did a great job but freddie's voice is something else
@@erdave2309 Nah, sun city, Dublin and live aids say otherwise, may is just a basic bar singer, nothing more.
@@alessandro102 Brian is a guitarist his vocals are quire ordinary. Roger is a better singer
Wish Brian would sing Freddie's vocals all of the time.
That is why I want a TV CRT 4:3 at my room. To see this wonderful videos!!! 💛✨
Brian May. Fuckin awesome.
That is all. Thank you.
