I like this tutorial a lot! I've completely forgotten about using lofi in a metal mix, especially where vocals need to be more present or something like that. Very well done, this deserves more views!
Im sharing all you content bro. This is so much Gold just hiddden in the metal corner of RUclips. Even MGK would play guitar better if he listened to you.
Hey Mike! A bit unrelated question to the video but how did you adjust the tone for that guitar in particular? I have the exact same model and sometimes I wonder if the pickups are faulty or something, but it has a lot of low end, so little gain and not tight at all to make it sound good in modern metal contexts
He is doing a bit of post processing after the toneforge ampsim and before the NadIR cabsim. A bassy hot signal may be your audio interface. Check if you are using the switchable instrument input. There could be Hi-Z and pad switches to accomodate active or passive pickups. It may also be due to your tone pot or thicker string gauge. Try experimenting with lower valued capacitor such as 0.015 µF instead of the usual 0.022 µF for humbuckers.
hey man! yes indeed, the pickups on this Ibanez may need some work to get it sounding right. a tubescreamer before the amp helps to tame the excessive low end and EQ before the amp is also helpful correct gain staging (peaks at about -6) for your DI is very helpful then it's just the right ampsim and the right cab with some extra processing like EQ and compression after that hope that this helps!
@@mohitrahaman hey, thanks for the inputs! I don't think it's a problem of the intarfece since this is the only guitar I have this problem. I haven't considered the pot thing, might try it out, but I think that at the end of the day, getting a pickup more aligned with the music I play will be the better option in the long run
@@DrMikeMetal I will work on the post-processing and try to get a better tone out of it! Also, how was the QC in the guitar? Mine came with scratches on the frets and a super high nut that makes it impossible to play intonated. Most of them can be solved but it bothers me that a guitar in this price range has this kind of problems.
Mike, new to the channel. Huge quality video, keep going you doing great work here. And nice tip, i'm not a rock producer but could use those tips making other genres aswell 🫶🏼 thanks for the info!
Thank you so much for your attention!! These metal principles can really be applied to any genre, just less aggressively! Hope that your work is going well :)

Way too kind man!! I'm just keen to give as much value as I can...
Instead of using a highpass and lowpass filter combo, what if you used a bandpass filter instead (and you can adjust the slope on those, too)?
Yeah I experimented with Volcano in the final part of the video, using bandpass filter. It's quite similar yet a bit different
