The Bad Batch episode 14 finally put us back on track with the story and revealed to us Gregor's arc. We got to see the start of the stormtroopers as well as Scorch from Republic Commando! Let's dive into this breakdown and discuss all easter eggs and every detail I can find. What a great episode!

THEORY: Both Howzer and Wolfe are both in a cell near where hunter is and we will see them in one of the next two episodes when Rex, Gregor and the BB come to save him
Maybe howzer will die in the escape and that explains why he isn’t with the clones in Rebels

This episode did a lot for Echo. He finally didn't feel like a background character
Loved it. He pretty much let Hunter know from the start they were completing the mission and helping his former CO and friend

Man I really hope they don't kill Hunter, he's my favorite character in the Squad.
I hope we get more Empire in the end of this season and throughout next season. Them and Crosshair were the most interesting stuff in the show and what we got the least of in this season. Getting some different perspectives on the Empire would be so dope. Maybe see why many of the elite planets who benefit economically support it.
Crosshair was always a more interesting Batcher, in my opinion. And no, we didn't see enough of him for sure. Pray he can be redeemed & that he receives a helping hand soon.
PLEASE HEAR ME OUT! I have a theory on next week's episode, and it makes a lot of sense. at the end of this episode, crosshair said to hunterthey he is hoping for the bois, but only hunter WILL DO, the word WILL DO is kinda sus. because when someone said sth 'WILL DO' means someone is going to do something on the subject. plus the very sinister music played at the moment. My guess is that crosshair originally wanted the whole squad to have their chips reactivated ideally, but now only hunter was captured, only hunter will do. and by coincidence crosshair's elite squad captured Nala se, maybe in the next episode we would see hunter being dragged to a medical bay by scorch in the daro facility and the imperials make Nala se to do the surgery on hunter at gunpoint, but both crosshair and the imperials don't know hunter's chip have been removed already and by the time the imps are informed by Nala se that there is no chip in hunter, the bois maybe teamed with cut lawquane, gregor and rex burst into the facility and safe hunter and Nala se, maybe tranquilize crosshair and scorch drag them along to Bracca and get their chips removed

when hunter fell from the ship, that fall reminded me of the fall from Rambo had in the first movie, and hunter looks like Rambo

Man even though this is Gregor's first appearance in TBB, his voice feels so warm/friendly as if he is extremely familiar (probably because of rebels). What a great episode!
To me, Gregor sounded like he's one of those silly boys that just wants to have a cheeseburger with pickles in them. 😂

The Batch didn’t go on the rescue mission because Omega said something. They went because Echo gave Hunter ‘that look’. He was the swing vote to extract Gregor.

I freaking loved that scene with the Batch discussing whether or not they should take Rex's mission, Echo trusting Rex completely, Tech keeping it practical, Omega being the moral compass, and Wrecker just agreeing with everyone

I feel like you shoud have adressed Echo's commitment to saving another Clone more. I thought this was a really important interaction between Echo and the rest of the Bad Batch

It wasn't JUST Omega telling Hunter to go and save Gregor, you can clearly see and hear Echo on the ship arguing for it, and then the look he gives Hunter as he tries to decide. If Hunter decided to put their job to Cid first I'm pretty sure Echo would have gotten into an argument with him over it.
@SPQSpartacus not to mention, Echo was an ARC trooper, a by the book soldier and a honorbound guy. He already showed discomfort with becoming just Cid's grunt and wanted to help Rex. Of course he'd prioritize Rex over Cid

I think you got it wrong. Hunter agreed to do the mission because Echo wouldn't stop giving him an intense look. And Hunter understood this was important to him.

Some can assume that it was for Omega bc its been like that the past few episodes but I agree...I think it was for Echo bc Echo brought up Skeko Minor (or however you spell it) and then about him trusting rex so to trust him as well. Echo deserves a little more scenes than what he has gotten. I know the show is call The Bad Batch but Echo is now a Bad Batch member and he has been with us a long time.

This episode felt like watching A New Hope. It was awesome. Lots of action and emotions.
Especially the music they used in some parts was heavily influenced by A New Hope

I love how scorch and the other clone commandos were actually able to hold their ground against the bad batch.
I’m glad that we can go back to seeing enemy soldier get brutally killed in combat cause they’re no longer clones.😂😂😂
I’m not so hopeful. The stormtroopers where shown to not be clones and yet the bad batch all still used the stun setting the whole time until wrecker shoots one guy. It’s like Disney forced a limit where the good guys can only kill one person directly per episode. It’s starting to get really really obvious for me.
Seeing Scorch is and was one of the most bad ass parts of this episode.
@@reddeadcharactercreations7884 The Bad Batch could also be using stun because it has a larger range than blaster fire, so it would be less risky.

Be cool if they sent Delta Squad after the Bad Batch lol though that makes me nervous because I don't want to see Delta Squad get hurt I'm still praying for a sequel.
Delta left Sev behind in Kashyyyk, so atm they only have 3 members and one replacement coming up. Imagine if the Bad Batch end up finding Sev and Sev will end up becoming the new sniper for them

I think when Echo made his argument for why they needed to go get Gregor, that look on his face made me think he would've attempted it on his own. I also think he put Hunter in check with that decision.

I still think that Hunter would have agreed with Echo without Omega's imput, but it would have been a longer argument
Omega is a kid, her naivety is going to pay the price and it did this time when they lost hunter. That's kinda the point.
As much Echo's doing that they went on this mission as Omega's. And once they arrived Omega and Wrecker followed orders and stayed behind as backup. Omega shares no more responsibility than anyone else for what happened. Sometimes Ops just go wrong. They wanted to rescue him but Hunter ordered them to flee.
@@yuinakamota8946 youre right he did push the mission once they started but she specifically fought for it in the scene and Echo didnt chime in until they got to the base and only added a nod in that scene. Omega pushes this idea in the scene so in a way she is definitely responsible or at least she'll beloeve she is because it got her closest brother captured and in that moment she spoke up for it. Omega's learning at the moment and even though it was the right thing to do, we see her good nature get the batch deeper into situations they could have even avoided.
@@drell4153 Not correct. Echo was the first to speak up and demand they make the rescue. Hunter was going to carry on with the paying mission but Echo reminded them that he was rescued in a very similar manner to how they are being asked to rescue this clone. Hunter could tell as the team was debating, that Echo was passionate about this and was not just going to let this go.
@@yuinakamota8946 I see where he says something either way, Omega pushes this subject as well and as a child this is a crucial learning moment for her. Im not sure why this is so hard to understand. Its not her fault but she definitely will feel like it is especially with how close hunter and Omega are.

It's inevitable, tbh this is how things have to be when you're writing newer stories that were never a thing originally, inbetween Lucas's Saga. It's going to be sad if they all die, you can tell Omega will survive that's why it all makes sense what SWT says about her, them dying has to harder her and make her more cynical and gritty, that's the only perfect character development that will make sense for her.
That's a good thing, maybe this awful series will end sooner than later.

I think it’s realistic that palpatine would ditch the clones because he knows that clones can switch sides by a flick of a button and with clones betraying the empire in the last few episodes it makes sense that palpatine would get rid of them as quick as possible
And clones are a lot more expensive than normal people. The empire needs lots of soldiers as a police force not an elite army
That’s my basic view of it. Since he did it to rise to power himself, he will be paranoid about others using the same tactic against him. He can’t know for certain that there weren’t other implanted commands or failsafes placed in the clones, so better to wipe them off the board than run the risk.
Yeah, makes sense. I'm just so sad because the clones are one of the best parts of Star Wars in my opinion. Especially growing up in the prequels era.

Well Vaders 501st turned on him due to a Jedi mind trick making them think he was a Jedi...clones are by far more loyal imo as they were MADE for loyalty and skill...but yea thats definitely why he fazed them out
I disagree that Gregor was too comedic in Rebels. The way I saw it is that each of the clones displayed different forms of PTSD.
I think the explosion might've actually damaged his brain somehow because his voice and personality are different

Do you think Gregor could've suffered a head injury from an explosion in the Clone Wars where his mind set would slightly change almost drastically from the spot?
Gregor def got brain damage from the explosion, which resulted in his comedic personality.

10/10 for me. I disagree with you on omega though. Her wanting to save everyone reminds me of Luke in a lot of ways in how he didn't want to wreck Jabba at first or how he believed good was still in his father. That's just who she is. Also, Echo played a large role in convincing Hunter to rescue Gregor. Really enjoyed them going on the early version of the death star, especially when they were in the reactor port.
i believe its Echo that actually convinced Hunter not Omega his look and the history of them makes it more impactful for Hunter to listen to

So if explosions deactivate the chip, that’s why Gregor didn’t obey orders, because his chip was destroyed back in season 5.
then what about cross hairs trauma during the engine firing at him. that seems like it would have been damaging enough to nullify the chip too. so it begs the question, does he just want to be an imperial now?
@@walterallen9188 I brought up this point along with a lot of other people. But the way Crosshair was acting in the final Ryloth episode seemed a little odd compared to his chip enhancement form. A lot of of believe his facial expressions say a lot at the end of that episode where Rampart gives him the go ahead to go after the batch
@@walterallen9188 I believe they establish that the chip merged with his personality. Meaning that he is extremely loyal to the empire by "choice".
I don’t think that it‘s that easy. Look at the size of the explosion Gregor survived. It was an immense trauma. It wasn’t just any ordinary explosion.
Not explosions by themselves, but the fact that he had amnesia before his heroic stand in season 5, on top of getting even more brain trauma from the force of the blast. Think of him like the most damaged NFL player

Hunter is John Rambo. He even had his "falling from the helicopter through the trees" moment.
And still got up and kept shooting. What a legend
She's a child. They don't see the evil adults do.
Also it was not just Omega. Echo was the biggest voice of them all for rescuing Gregor. Echo's passion about it made Hunter even begin to consider it to begin with.
And Luke was a grown boy who wanted to save space hitler but that’s fine

I respect pet lovers and he was nice to her but he owed the Pykes a lot of $$$ I get she's a kid and might not understand that concept but he isn't worth being friends with or making an enemy out of a lot larger organization when they already got the Empire chasing them.
I think Omega is a kid and as such is acting like one, she wasn't raised like a clone or a jedi. She was probably like Nala Se daugther.

With Hunter captured I hope Omega learns her lesson that you can’t save everyone all the time.
Glad they are protraying Omega as a character who is still learning and has much still to learn. Her character development is paying off and I hope they keep her this way.

Her we gotta save everyone attitude is getting really cringey. It reminds of of something some kid in our world would say. Boba Fett was her age and he has way more common sense.

Omega is a kid and most kids have a pure heart. They see everything and everyone as good. She has led a sheltered life up until now and has not been exposed to the evil/bad in the galaxy. Think about how as little kid most of you did not know what was good or bad until you were told by your parents, someone else or simply seeing it for yourself. Most kids, if allowed to do so, will talk to strangers as if they have know them. She will eventually learn, as we all have, that not everyone is interested in the good of all.
I completely agree with this. Omega is the moral compass, young and learning character who always looks to the positive. Having her wanting to do what she feels is right shouldn't come across as annoying. She wants to do everything possible to help everyone, even when the chances aren't high. Its not annoying to have a character try to be helpful as best as they can be.
I agree. She has been very sheltered - probably more than most children - and so she comes across as naive and too prone to see the good in people, even when the group should cut and run (in the case with Cid, for example).
I think the Bad Batch are so used to being soldiers and getting told what to do. They could be manipulated or kept under the firm thumb of someone. Plus they are constantly on the run, so they cannot set aside much time or energy to plan long-term.
I hope the entire group, including Omega, can develop further and get more understanding of how the world works, and actually be a bit more selfish and jaded (i.e. not so naive) in order to take care of themselves.
Yeah, I really want to see how she’ll change in the finale when some BIG thing happens that’ll probably scar her for life….okay maybe I said all of that like a psychopath

He is actually marked in game itself as MIA - missing in action, minning that he was simply not found during the Kashyyk battle, and Nobel writer for Commando series that was also working with games kinda hinted that Sev was supposed to be found later on, meaning that he is still alive, but probably was captured or lost somewhere in the woods. So we might get a chance to see Sev even without any retcons

Lol I bet if Omega gets a live action cameo in Book of Boba, we’ll see a more pragmatic Omega uttering “We gotta job to do, can’t save everyone.” to someone urging her to on a rescue mission. You see her in the beginning trying to mimic Hunter’s knife twirling, I bet that’s the scene that introduces her in Book of Bona, just showing her hand twirling a knife and hearing her distinctive accent before panning to her face.

I think this is important because Omega is not letting them walk away from 'Rescues'. How will that turn out for her and the rest of the Batch?" - Me - last week when everyone was playing off the episode as "filler".
Sure do wish that they would extract Cross as well while they are rescuing Hunter. They seem to find the will & the time to "rescue" everyone BUT CROSSHAIR. Who has history with our Batchers & who is one, still.
There was a small missed opportunity here to explain how tough the commando armor is compared to the standard clone trooper set. Actually in the books this armor was basically some of the most indestructible, heavy, and best design ever made in the the starwars history. Im so glad the episode showed the commandos taking lots of extra hits and being a real burden like they are. Im happy to see them featured more in the series, long overdue!
Though its just amazing to finally, finally, have a follow up on Gregor's story. Soon as this episode started and I saw the armor around the legs looking differnt; it didnt not take me long to realize they were commandos; and this was Gregor escaping. Filoni and team know how to really bring starwars together. I hope Delta squad can make an appearance as they defected from Empire to.
Scorch has already made an appearance, though he is still with the Empire. 7:47 he is referenced. Yes, it was Scorch that shot Gregor.
Omega is a child most children who have been in a “ war time “ event wouldn’t won’t anyone to die. Her actions while annoying is completely understandable considering her age
one thing is dont want to see others die and the another is risking your neck and the neck of your friends to save someone you don't even know.

Yeah it wouldnt be fair for them if it was Boss 🤣. Scorch single handedly dealt with Gregor and Tech and i believ if given the chance could of taken out Echo aswell. A united bad batch would still he weaker than a united Delta squad.

One of my main thoughts throughout this episode other than "Oh my goodness it's Gregor!!" was "Wow the animation looks amazing!" Like those shots in the forest at the beginning were just spectacular!

Right? Tv shows, get this, do have some bad episodes. Shocking, I know. Hell, some even have whole seasons that aren't loved.

Well you have to still admit that some of these episodes were kind of dull. I’m glad to see it finally back on that exciting track again. They are definitely going to ramp it out towards the end now.

I love how the only one using live rounds was the one who didn't know they weren't clones.
I can't help but think this was a simple human error. That the notes given to the animators for that scene didn't include the need for Wrecker to be firing stun rounds. And either nobody caught it post production or it just wasn't worth the expense to correct it when it was caught.
@@superdave8248 It makes sense Wrecker used live rounds because he never was part of the firefight only up until the end and was never told to use nonlethal force upon arriving to support.

I'm not sure about that. But if Hunter dies it will be to save Crosshair. Crosshair seems the more possible "leader" replacement of the team if Hunter bites it.
But this is still Kennedy's Star Wars. I could see this being flipped and Omega leads the team afterwards. Wearing Hunter's headband no less.

You have to keep in mind that Omea is still a child, shes pure of heart, shes still kinda new to the "real world"
exactly! she doesn’t understand that she can’t save everyone, she doesn’t understand the consequences that come from it, i think part of it is because she would still be in kamino if the bad batch hadn’t saved her, and she would be experimented on. she probably thinks that she wants to save everyone so no one has to experience what she would have
Omega is still just a kid. While she’s now getting some “bad” influence by living with the Batch in a part of the galactic underworld, Hunter has still been trying to protect her from the worst of it. This she still carries that youthful innocence and optimism that comes from seeing the world in simple black and white.
Plus, she has an additional soft heart for the clones. Hearing that one is in trouble, particularly hearing it from a friend, of course she would want to help.
Literally. And she's a girl so she's gonna be more caring in general on top of that and didn't have some cold blooded experience like watching her dad die by decapitation like boba did.

I'm kinda disgraced by how people such as SWT are ripping into her for being empathetic and forgiving. Its what the galaxy lacks at this time in the Bad Batch and sadly, something the real world lacks too. Good points tho!

It seems that the explosion that “killed” Gregor not only fried his chip but is the cause of his insanity, glad to have a reason behind him being loopy in Rebels, hopefully we also get closure on Cody and Wolffe!
Yeah, we know he survived that explosion so it's likely that explosion did leave an impacted to him

The whole squad wouldn’t be possible, knowing Dave Filoni, he’d probably make Republic commando canon again which means Sev was left behind in kashyyyk. That being said, maybe Sev could end up becoming the new sniper for the Bad Batch if they end up finding him, and that’s if Crosshair dies or refuses to join back.

Yeah. The final look of Palpatine in that Zillo beast ep was enigmatic. He wanted to start another project like War Mantle, Project black saber, Cluster-Prism or Stellar Sphere. Rogue one had some easter eggs.
Given the zilo beasts hide is very strong against blaster and lightsaber attacks I can see a possibility for the armor to be made by that

It sounded like Dee Bradley Baker was voicing the young clones instead of the voice actor who did boba and the other young clones in CW, which makes me feel like boba won't show up in season 1 :(
Baker voiced young clones in clone wars too. If Boba does end up appearing in season 1, had Logan voiced a young clone it would have given away the surprise.

I feel there's been a significant time jump since the beginning, Well within the better part of a year at least, if not already a year on thus far. With these giant bases being built on multiple planets, Omega having more knowledge and skills and being closer to the group, the transition/mobilization on Kamino, and of course the implementation of Project War Mantle itself, which Rampart said would take time.
Yes I think so, we see them coming back form other missions from Sid so it’s safe to say there’s a-lot of unimportant missions they go on. We see something like this in the first episode with Hera where they’re doing a standard delivery, we can assume they do lots of these.
I don’t think the argument that: “Omega is always trying to save people that tried to kill them” really has any legs to stand on. The closest thing I can think of to that is Crosshair, but the whole team already wants to save him so that’s not just her. And in this episode it’s not like she is the only one arguing to go to rescue Gregor, because Echo was as well. Also, she is literally a child, so her protesting against Hunter’s orders sometimes doesn’t make her “insubordinate” or anything, it just means she’s learning. And isn’t the idea that a good soldier with free will SHOULDN’T mindlessly follow orders?

Loved the original trilogy music throughout the episode with all of the stormtroopers...and what's wrong with wanting to save people? Ahsoka would do it. I like Omega is the moral compass of the group, and Echo was on her side here too

@@BanishedSilentShadow3318 yeah and even tho Ahsoka went through lots of terrible times throughout the clone wars (and she was a kid), she came out still very much in favor of saving people but was more realistic about when and where she could do it. I hope this will be Omega. I don't want her to lose her moral code, but it'll be nice to see how the harsh events of the world affect her
I do agree that Omega is starting to get annoying with how much she wants to save everyone, but I’m hoping that this whole experience and losing Hunter will teach her to be more cautious as she will probably blame herself for the failure of the mission

Although a bit annoying, she's a child who was never on the battlefront, so it's understandable.
It was also Echo who was the loudest about making this rescue. It was a squad vote that really made Hunter agree to rescue Gregor.. not just Omega.
There was another great character who’s fatal flaw was wanting to save everyone. He was the Republic’s best warrior in the Clone Wars.

Solid 8/10 episode, maybe 8.5. Overall, very great; I liked seeing Gregor and the commandos. That last scene also got me hyped for these last two episodes.
Can’t forget the epic episode 4 music in the background during the fighting. Amazing stuff.

We’ll see Omega over the next two episodes IMO. She will not let Hunter be MIA. He is essentially her father. I think we’ll see how far she will go with her willingness to sacrifice for those she loves. If somehow Hunter is modified and corrupted we will see how dangerous she’ll be. Empathy is not weakness.
Yes, this! We’ve seen time and again her determination and how she rallies different characters to her cause. They’ve foreshadowed it with ‘I’d do the same for you’

Because Omega is a kid, she has a simple mind even though she has an advanced skill set when it comes to fixing things. That is why I think she wants to save everyone all the time.

If I remember correctly, in Legends the empire didn't really have a problem with clones wanting to retire and actually saw them as decorated war heroes and let them retire in peace with compensation making clone desertion rare
I also remember in legends clones were turned into cyborg which made most of the clones commit suicide

I absolutely loved that episode. They keep improving everytime, the sounds were also again spot on with the originals E11 blaster fire or the imperial music

I don't know I'm with SWT on this one, she's kind of getting more annoying as time goes on. She was cool and unique at first now she's kind of nagging.

I don't think Lama Su is dead though. We didn't hear the blasters. Nala Se or someone else could try to free him or make some last attempt which spells doom for the Kaminoans with the exception of Nala Se.
I also think she trained Dr. Pershing and hopefully is alive by the time of the Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett.
Great episode, great show. I just hope the cloning storyline isn’t Disney trying force a tie-in with the sequels. That may have been feasible when the Disney+ shows were first conceived, but the sequels crashed and burned & should be discarded.

I think it makes sense for Omega to be exactly how you’re complaining about her to be. She IS a child and thinks idealistically. Hunter is a practical realist, but because of Omega, he is learning from her about principle.
This was a great episode! There’s just something about the “sound effects” in Star Wars that makes me happy!
