It has become a staple in my routine and it's actually the only staple because I change between different products pretty frequently but that is just holy grail good so I have to keep it. What you said about it dragging I do agree with, but I have no issue with just using more than the 2-3 drops it recommends. When you think about other oil cleansers with a bump, using around 10 drops of this oil does end up being a similar amount. And I can confirm it’s great for dissolving heavy makeup! But I always make sure to follow up with a gentle cleanser as I always do when oil cleansing

In my experience, if oils and oil cleansers don't contain emulsifiers, adding water to the early stages of the process only increases friction, basically making it less slippery, making it feel like you are rubbing your face more aggressively.

Sometimes to do a deep cleanse, I apply the BHA liquid from Cosrx on my skin, leave it on for 30 minutes and then massage my skin with the Hada Labo cleansing oil, and honestly, I can feel the blackheads coming out of my pores like little grits on my hands while I massage my face, then I rinse my face and my blackheads are gone, at least those stubborn ones around my nose, forehead and chin!
Now I’m using the BCL Cleansing Research AHA Cleansing Oil, it’s not as good as the Hada Labo one, but still it removes blackheads pretty well and it’s free from mineral oil ❤️

With the Simple one I pour about a nickel to quarter size amount in my palm and distribute it evenly over my palms. Then, I gently press it over my face leaving it longer on areas with heavier makeup like my eyes. After that I gently massage it around to loosen makeup and add water to work it around a little more. I actually use my second cleanse Cleanser (CeraVe Foaming) to take it off. I was rinsing it off before my second cleanse but found that I can skip the extra rinsing and just add my Foaming Cleanser on top. Hope you and your mom are doing well. If anyone comes across this, I just wanted to mention that IMHO the best way to use the Simple hydrating cleansing oil is to be quite generous when applying. I find the packaging instructions poorly worded since a few drops will not do.
I'm pretty generous and apply a good amount and massage it on my skin, then add water and it turns into a milk and rinses off without any residue. I generally follow with the Simple Water Boost Micellar Gel Facial Wash, but on those night where I get lazy and skip the second cleanse, I have no issues whatsoever and I end up with clean and smooth skin just after the cleansing oil.
It's a great affordable option not just in the US, but also for people in Europe like me, I've been using and repurchasing it for at least a year and a half and will continue doing so.

Thanks for explaining this whole cleansing oil thing to me. I've been doing exactly what you recommend for the past month, cleansing oil first followed by a gentle foaming face wash. Phew! I thought I was cheating by following up with the foamy stuff. Now, I can rest easy.

I actually bought Simple's oil cleanser to try. As someone with sensitive dry combination skin (I have a not so serious case of ezcema 💁‍♀️), I thought oil cleansing may work better for me. The product was okay and did get some oil plugs out, but then I used olive oil as per The Golden Rx's advice.....and it was wonderful!!!! It got pretty much all of the surface level oil/sebum plugs out of my skin and I am so happy XD Now I don't have to spend extra money on the cleanser!!!

I was glad to hear your opinion of the Rice Water Bright. I completely agree. I purchased a bottle at the recommendation of another RUclips beauty "guru", but was very surprised at how much fragrance it has. I don't find the smell offensive; there is just so much of it. It also squirts out with a crazy spurt which causes it to overshoot the intended spot in my hand. I'm going to toss it and purchase the Hado Labo cleansing oil.

Dr. Dray, thank you for mentioning the strong fragrance in one of the products you reviewed. I purchased some Asian serums and had the same issue. The fragrance was so strong I was unable to continue using the product. Hopefully as the popularity of Asian products increases, they might shed the strong fragrances. I was gifted with rosacea, atopic dermatitis (AD), and melasma in my middle age and have been interested in trying oils since they might be gentler for removing sunscreen and make up with my conditions, but have been apprehensive until watching this video. With my AD, I run the risk of a miserable, lengthy inflammatory response episode with any new product I try. This video gave me the courage! Thank you. I have learned a tremendous amount of helpful information from watching your channel.

Cara D Yes! few oils can cause breakout for extremely oily acne prone skin. But many asian oil cleanser contain Non-comedogenic oil. My mom too have extremely oily and acne prone skin, but she is enjoying her oil cleansing!! Usually coconut oil and olive oil can cause breakout. My favorite one are "Innisfree Green tea balancing cleansing oil" and "Heimish all clean balm". These work perfectly for my dry sensitive skin and for my mom's oily acne prone skin.
