In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus is going to separate the sheep from the goats for judgement.
Jesus is going to say to the sheep on his right hand, come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was hungry, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: I was naked, and you clothed me: I was sick or in prison, and you visited me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you, and did all these things unto you?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. [ Matthew 25:31-40 ]. The sheep loved the brethren with good works.
Then Jesus is going to say to the goats on his left hand, depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was hungry, and you gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and you took me not in: I was naked, and you clothed me not: I was sick or in prison, and you visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you, and not do all these things unto you?
Then shall he answer them, saying, inasmuch as you did it not to one of the least, you did it not to me. [ Matthew 25:41-46 ]. The goats did not love the brethren with good works.
Jesus is going to cast out the unprofitable servants into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. [ Matthew 25:1-30 ]
Jesus said, every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [ Matthew 7:19 ]
Jesus loved the brethren and neighbor with many good works. [ John 10:32 ]

James also speaks of being justified not by faith alone but also by works. It isn't just that it’s profitable to others but also to ourselves, James 2:24. Our faith is perfected by our works, James 2:22.

tonight i opened my bible with an expectant heart open to God for the first time in 3 years. I’ve read my bible here and there, but tonight I tried to open my heart and have faith. I felt drawn to James 2 and then found your video my chance after. Your video completely opened my eyes and brushed off a burden i’ve been carrying with me since 2019, as a someone who’s only been saved since 2016. Since 2018, after a friend’s wrong teaching, I’ve lacked confidence in my salvation b/c my faith always seemed to be dead. I never seemed to grow and always backslid and didn’t have fruit in my life. This video changed everything. I though my faith was dead as in disingenuous and my salvation void. This video completely changed my perspective. I want to have works, but now I know again that my lack of works doesn’t discount my salvation.

Yes, that's true. Most Catholics don't even read the Bible (I know that from experience) and when they do, it will be the corrupted "Pope version" (Latin Vulgate), where the verses are so much changed that you can hardly recognize them. And they change the definitions of words and the meaning of verses to make them say what they want, no matter what is clearly written. Spiritually, Catholics are in total darkness, like in the middle ages during the dictatorship of Papacy, because they were robbed of the light of the truth, and don't even know it. That's how bad things really are. The one thing that needs to change in their heart is their attitude towards God's word, which they hatefully call "the Protestant Bible". They have been completely lied to about the bible by their Pagan Roman Church about everything, the inspiration and preservation of the bible, about the pagan roots and horrific crimes and mass murders against true Christians by the hands of the catholic church in the history, their own sinful nature and their need for biblical (!) justification, the dispensational change, and so on and on. But this change of thinking needs to take place in them, otherwise, they will never see the truth for what it is, nor have value and esteem for God's word. Thanks to God, that there were and still will be Catholics, who will be affected by the truth, and make their own research and will escape the Catholic Church by the Grace of God and the light of his word.

The razor sharp precision of the KJV has been dulled over hundreds of years of language change. Language is not static. It is always changing. There are now many obsolete words in the KJV. Worse yet, there are tons of words that have changed meaning. Unless you understand old English, you may come away with a wrong understanding by reading the KJV. I encourage you to get a good updated version of the bible.

Amen Brother...this book is one of the most misused books of the bible...God bless you for explaining it so clearly. Written study of James:
WHY DOES JAMES SAY, “FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD?”
The epistle of James was written to a group of people who were already children of God. James addressed them as brethren. In James 1:22,25, he went on to say to them, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves … But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed” (not saved) “in his deed.”
Good works don’t have any part in making you a child of God, but they certainly determine whether you are an obedient child of God or not. Obedience results in God’s blessings in a person’s life, whereas, disobedience results in God’s chastening. It is not the person who knows God’s will that God is going to bless, but rather the one who does His will.
The believers whom James was addressing were guilty of showing favoritism to the rich people who came to their assembly. They claimed to be loving their neighbors as themselves, but in actuality they were hypocrites. They were treating people differently because they didn’t have money or dress well (James 2:1-11). So James admonishes them, “So speak, and so do, as they that shall be judged” (literally, `as they who are about to be judged’) “by the law of liberty … What does is profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and has not works? Can faith save him?” (James 2:12,14).
The Greek construction of the question, “can faith save Him?” requires a negative answer; therefore, the reply is, “no, faith alone cannot save him.”
Now according to Ephesians 2:8,9, in order to be saved, a person must have faith and no works; yet according to James 2:14, a person can’t be saved without works. Some people have tried to explain this away by saying that the faith that saves produces works; however, James didn’t say faith produces works; he said faith alone can’t save.
JAMES WAS WARNING OF IMPENDING DISCIPLINE
The problem is quickly solved when you realize that the word “saved” isn’t always used in reference to salvation from eternal judgment. In James 5:15 he uses it in reference to being saved from physical death, and in James 2:14 he uses it in reference to being saved from God’s discipline.
James was warning of impending discipline the Lord was going to bring into these Christians’ lives. It is not the believer who talks the good talk who avoids God’s discipline; it is the believer who lives the good life.
These believers talked about love but were not practicing it. James 2:15-17 explain, “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit? Even so faith, it if has not works, is dead, being alone.”
Words alone could not supply the needy believers with food and clothing. Telling someone who is cold and hungry to be warmed and filled is to do absolutely nothing for that person. To be of profit, those words must be accompanied by works. They were to supply food and clothing for those in need, not just talk, because, “faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.”
These believers apparently claimed to have faith, but without works, that sort of faith could not save them from God’s judgment in their lives. That’s why James said, “So speak, and so DO, as they that shall be judged” (literally, `are about to be judged’) “by the law of liberty” (James 2:12).
Now since James was addressing believers, he was not talking about their receiving judgment in the lake of fire.
. For the believer there is no such thing as coming into judgment as far as one’s eternal destiny is concerned. Christ said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he who hears My word, and believes on Him who sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation;” (literally, `judgment’) “but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
James makes it abundantly clear that he is speaking of faith in the Christian life, and faith in the Christian life will always manifest itself in works. A parallel passage can be found in First John 3:17,18, “But whoso has this world’s goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” If I say I love fellow believers, yet when they are in need I don’t help them out, then in truth, I don’t love them.
BUT EVEN THE DEMONS BELIEVE AND THEY TREMBLE
Many times those who think that one must submit to the Lordship of Christ in order to be saved will support their view by the passage in James which says the demons believe and tremble.
James wrote, “You believe that there is one God; you do well: the demons also believe, and tremble. But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:19,20).
People who use these verses to teach that it is not enough just to believe in Christ for salvation don’t realize what they are saying.
First of all, there is a big difference between believing in Christ and believing that there is one God. Believing that there is one God is not going to save anyone - even the Jews who rejected Christ believed that.
Second, why would James use demons as an example of saving faith when there is no hope of demons being saved anyway. The Scriptures teach that since Christ didn’t die for angels (Hebrews 2:16).
So James is not using the demons to prove that you have to do more than just believe in Christ to save you from eternal annihilation. James was using satire to reprimand these disobedient believers. To paraphrase, he is saying, “Big deal if you believe in God, so do the demons. You can talk all you want about faith, but without works all your so-called faith is dead.”
James continues by using Abraham as an example. Verse 21 states, “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac, his son, upon the altar?”
Now in Romans 4:3-5, Paul uses Abraham as an example of a man who was justified by faith alone, apart from any works. “For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that works is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him who does not work, but believes on Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
It sounds like a contradiction between Paul and James, but in reality, they are speaking of two different events in Abraham’s life. Paul, in the book of Romans, deals with the faith Abraham had which resulted in his salvation and James deals with the faith Abraham had which resulted in his friendship with the Lord. It was by faith alone that Abraham became a child of God, but it was by his faith and works that he became a friend of God. It is important to realize that there are more than thirty years between the two occurrences referred to by Paul and James.
Notice at what time in Abraham’s life he was justified by works. James 2:21 says, “when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar.” God had already promised Abraham that the Messiah was going to come through the line of his son Isaac. Isaac was unmarried at the time, and Abraham knew he would yet have to marry and have a child in order for God’s promise to be fulfilled. When Abraham was commanded by the Lord to offer Isaac as a burnt offering, he knew God wouldn’t break His promise and he trusted God to raise Isaac from the dead.
And where did I get that? Hebrews 11:17-19 explain, “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall your seed be called: accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from whence also he received him in a figure.”
When God told Abraham to go and offer his son as a burnt offering, Abraham could have replied, “Now Lord, I know You’ve already promised to have the Messiah come through Isaac and I know You can raise him up from the dead, but there is no way I’m going to take his life.” Abraham could talk all he wanted about faith but the proof that he really did have faith was his works. Without the works, there is no faith. However, Abraham truly did have faith that the Lord would do what He promised as was proven by his obedience and Abraham “was called the friend of God” (James 2:23).
Once a person is a child of God, he is always God’s child regardless of what he does (John 6:37). However, a person is not God’s friend unless he is doing the things God commands. Jesus Christ said, “You are My friends, if you do whatever I command you” (John 15:14).
Being God’s friend is synonymous with what the Bible terms “fellowship.” The word “fellowship” means “partnership” and conveys the idea of having things in common with another individual. Thus, a believer who claims to be having fellowship with the Lord and is living a life of sin obviously is not having fellowship. He will come under the chastening hand of God, but nonetheless, he is still on his way to heaven.

      Hello Bruce,
Bruce...either Salvation is completely free, or we have some part to play in it...I have given you all the facts on James in the Study above...Abraham is used as an example of faith 2 times in his life...The first time it was when he WAS saved...it says in Romans chapter 4.
Rom 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory;(this word glory means to boast) but not before God. Rom 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Rom. 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
It does not say Abraham might have been disciplined because there was no need to say anything else about the story since Abraham did what God asked him to do.
Now let’s look at the other time Abraham is used as an example of faith.
Jam 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jam 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jam 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
they are speaking of two different events in Abraham’s life. Paul, in the book of Romans, deals with the faith Abraham had which resulted in his salvation and James deals with the faith Abraham had which resulted in his friendship with the Lord. It was by faith alone that Abraham became a child of God, but it was by his faith and works that he became a friend of God. You and many others are trying to mix Salvation which is for everyone and completely free, with Discipleship which takes effort and work…and I am praying that you see the truth of all of this…
      DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DICIPLESHIP AND SALVATION:
      SALVATION:
      EPH 2:8-9
FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES; IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD; NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST. (A GIFT CAN NOT BE PAID FOR OR IT IS NOT A GIFT)
      ROMANS 4:5
BUT TO HIM THAT WORKETH NOT, BUT BELIEVETH ON HIM WHO JUSTIFIETH THE UNGODLY HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
      ACTS 13:39
AND BY HIM ALL THAT BELIEVE ARE JUSTIFIED FROM ALL
THINGS, FROM WHICH YE COULD NOT BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW
      OF MOSES.
      GAL 2:16
KNOWING THAT A MAN IS NOT JUSTIFIED BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW, BUT BY THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, EVEN WE HAVE BELIEVED IN JESUS CHRIST, THAT WE MIGHT BE JUSTIFIED BY THE FAITH OF CHRIST, AND NOT BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW: FOR BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED.
      PHILLIP 3:9-11
And be found in Him; not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law, but through the faith of Christ, the righteousness of God by faith, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable to His death; if by any means I might attain to the resurrection of the dead.
      ROM. 10:3-4
FOR THEY BEING IGNORANT OF GODS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND GOING ABOUT TO ESTABLISH THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, HAVE NOT SUBMITTED THEMSELVES UNTO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. FOR CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNES TO EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES.
      ROM. 11:6
AND IF BY GRACE, THEN IS IT NO MORE OF WORKS: OTHERWISE, GRACE IS NO MORE GRACE. BUT IF IT BE OF WORKS, THEN IS IT NO MORE GRACE: OTHERWISE, WORK IS NO MORE WORK.
      ROM. 3: 21-24
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
      DECIPLESHIP:
Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. This is Christ using hyperbole an exaggerated form of speech to drive His point home…it does not mean that you should actually hate. As that would be a sin…He is using a hyperbolic comparison better to hate the people you love than to not follow me.
Luk 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Luk 14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Luk 14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Luk 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Luk 14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Luk 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
I know with many people I will not convince even though the truth is explained right before their eyes…I am praying for you Bruce that your spiritual eyes will be opened…and that you will believe in Christ Alone realizing that nothing you have done or will do after you are saved will keep you from the Love of God…I love what Paul says ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL TO ME BUT NOT ALL THINGS ARE EXPEDIENT…What Paul was saying is that in the Liberty that is found in Christ he could do anything…but he knew that some things are not expedient or profitable.
I want to give you one more verse that is so very simple even a child can see the truth and beauty in it…
      ACTS 16: 25-31
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened. 27 When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” 29 And the jailer[a] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.
all the jailer was told was to Trust or believe in the God/Man who had done all the work to get this sinful Jailer to heaven...They did not ask Him to change his life or repent of his sin...or do any self-work before coming to Christ...it is not possible for an unbeliever to change without the Holy Spirit...many pastors teach you clean up and then come to Christ...The scriptures say's Christ saves you just as you are and then the believer is in a position to start to change...as they yield to the Holy Spirit.
May the Holy Spirit Guide you in all truth Bruce.

      @@Bruce_Peters
      Dear Bruce…
You are mixing up discipleship and salvation...
      You’re Point:
I agree that salvation is a free gift, but we do play a part in it: we have to believe. Agree or disagree?
My answer: Absolutely it is by faith, but faith is not a work. All we are doing is changing our minds about what we previously believed in to placing our faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross... there is no work too be done. so we agree on this. Good!
      Your point:
James explicitly states that the righteousness of Abraham came because he showed his faith was real, by his works.
Answer: Abraham had already been saved 30 years prior to the quote James is quoting...the James quote is not Abrahams salvation it is Paul's quote in Romans below:
Rom 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; (the glory here means to boast) but not before God.
This quote from Paul is from Genesis 15:5-6 James Quote is from Genesis chapter 22...you have to agree that Genesis 15 comes before Gen. 22 right?
Abraham proved to God that he was righteous in his life not for salvation He was Justified before men… in the passage James is quoting…Abraham… was called the friend of God…He was not saved there…this was not a salvation event…Abraham had already been saved 30 years prior to the Quote in James…in Genesis 15: 5-6… James is quoting the events of Genesis in Chapter 22 you are getting your facts all mixed up. Can’t you see this Bruce by the verses above…Abraham did not have to prove to God that He was saved he was already saved… what Abraham did was show God that He was willing to do what Christ asked of him…Hence He was called a friend of God) AGAIN THIS IS NOT WHEN ABRAHAM WAS SAVED.
Friendship with Christ is discipleship/Closeness this will be rewarded…here on earth and at the Judgement seat of Christ…but IS NOT A CONDITION FOR SALVATION. There are spiritual righteous believers and there are Carnal believers they are both going to heaven…but one will be honored, and one will be ashamed…One will have eternal rewards and the other not so much…some will be at the judgement seat of Christ with no reward at all.
Your reply…All of us have to do that as well, we cannot just play lip service to God. We have to have a true real belief. That's what I think James is saying. Your view that Abraham was already saved and "became a friend to God" BECAUSE he sacrificed Isaac is not true. That is not what James 2 says. James say "AND" Abraham was called the friend of God, but that wasn't due to him being willing to sacrifice Isaac. Don't change the Bible. //Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?// See? He was JUSTIFIED. Not "made the friend of God." It says so explicitly. All of us have to prove this out in our own way. God doesn't ask us to offer our children, thankfully, but our works DO prove out our faith. If someone professes faith in God but has no works, it isn't real faith. That's what the point of James 2 is.
There is NO SUCH THING AS TRUE BELIEF…You either are trusting in what Christ did for you apart from any work you do…or you are not trusting in the finished work of Christ…nothing you have done or will do or any proof you offer can change the finished work of Christ…I do not know what you mean by lip service…you either believe or you don’t…I believe I am going to heaven because of so many, many, verses that say Christ who was God died for me and Rose again and secured my eternal life and if I would just place my faith in what He did for me I would live with Him forever…How I act or what I do have nothing what so ever to do with this fact...it is done you cannot unborn yourself from Gods Family...what you can do is grieve the Holy Spirit, and bring Lots of Chastisement into your life by habitually sinning and some in the bible committed their sin unto death and Christ took them home early.
Abraham was already saved…you are so very wrong about this Bruce…See it for yourself…you have to agree that Gen chapter 15 comes before Gen. chapter 22 So in your opinion why was Abraham called the Friend of God? It was because He did what God asked him to do…again the justification here has nothing to with salvation He was justified before men this is why James is bringing him up as an example of a righteous believer…He was already justified with regard to salvation. As Paul shows in Romans if Abraham was justified before God by the work he did when he offered Isaac up as a sacrifice…He would have cause to boast…It is a very dangerous thing to mix works and grace…a little bit of poison makes the whole thing bad.
With all respect Bruce…You will not convince me on your point and although I have prayed for you…I will not convince you of my points…so let’s just agree to disagree…I will pray for you and you pray for me…One thing is for sure one of us is dead wrong on this topic…James was written to Already saved Christians telling them to straighten out and showing them the example that Abraham gave…Abraham the example of a righteous Christian and the James Christians who were not acting right who were about to get spanked by our Lord…It is not the Christian that talks the good talk but does the right thing that is spared Chastisement from God…
You do not have to prove anything to God all He wants is for you to trust Him…proving and working and doing right all come after you believe not to prove that you are saved…but to be Gods friend/Disciple/fellowship/Closeness…and to avoid Chastisement by Him in your life.

Faith is clearly not a work, and it is by grace you are saved. He who believes is counted for righteousness. You do not work for salvation. The entire book of James is used by religious institutions and Pharisee minded zealots to steer you away from Christ. They’re gatekeeping hypocrites. Not one of them will enter heaven and Christ word for word said exactly what he said in the future to warn them.
Not once during their lives did they rest in the finished work at the cross, they clung to their prides and deeds the whole time.
Repentance means to reconsider your actions and compare them to christs. If there is but one error you are screwed, for all have sin and fallen short of the glory of god. He who breaks but 1 rule of the law is guilty of the whole law. For god demands perfection, therefore be perfect.
James talks about how effective a soul winner is and how you know you are saved, NOT whether or not you are saved by belief alone.
Paul and James do not disagree with each other, James is responding to early church dissent on the edification concerning works. Works is a SIGN of salvation, they do not merit it in of itself. Christ saved you. The purpose for works is for rewards in heaven and for The Father to incentivize saving as many people as possible through your actions that lead them to Jesus. That is it. Once they believe God has them and will not let go, even if they are disobedient.

Ok the context of James 2:26 makes more sense now. Jesus was talking to already saved people calling them brethren. This scripture is often misinterpreted in teaching works based, but was taken out of context.

Ono, thank you so much for this breakdown. I was literally speaking with my significant other about this earlier and she said the exact same thing about the Abraham part where his faith was shown by his works. I want to start doing yt and learning and sharing about God more like you and Don. If you have any tips it’d be greatly appreciated! God bless you

Thank you so much for explaining this verse! I’ve seen this verse be misrepresented by Calvinists pretending to be Christians recently to mean someone who was predestinated to be saved by Christ will be forced to live perfectly under the law to prove and justify salvation. The true meaning in context you provided, your faith alone you are saved, but our works lead others to faith in Christ. Have faith and use your works to bring others to Christ

"Faith Without Works is Dead" True. But is it OUR faith and OUR works? Or is it OUR faith and HIS works? It is the work that Jesus did for is that and our faith is alive thanks to him. And the Bible is clear about the answer By Grace through Faith. Love you all.

@@kikisinozic7475Walk in the good works after we are saved. Good works do not save us! “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
      ‭‭Titus‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭5‬ ‭
Come out of work based salvation, because it does not save you. Whosoever *Believeth* in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Clear and concise explanation. Well done! Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone. There are works FOR salvation which Hebrews calls "dead works" and works OF salvation which are borne out of walking in the Spirit and for which we get rewards. But this is nothing more than allowing the Spirit to work in and through us. Anything else is back to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil....which is that good begets good and correspondingly evil begetting evil. Don't even the non-believers (and sadly some believers) believe that? Look no further than the religions of the world.

Thank you brother for your explanation, your channel has been very uplifting to me. I also would like to add my understanding of the verse in James 2.
My view of the verse it this, though many people like to use it to justify works for salvation, the verse in James 2 by no means contradicts salvation by grace through faith alone, in fact it perfectly compliments it.
    Jesus defines 'works' clearly in John 6:28-29 which says;
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6:28‭-‬29‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[28] Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” [29] Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
So the work of God is to believe in the one whom God sent that's Jesus Christ our Lord not in our own human efforts or good morality or self righteousness or whatever, that's what the people who preach salvation by works or combination of both works and faith don't understand when they quote that verse. That's why it says if you believe in one God you do well, even devils believe and tremble
There are many people who believe in God, or a higher power, but they don't believe in Jesus, some don't believe he rose again from the dead physically, some believe he was just a prophet, James 2 tells us their faith is dead because even though they believe in one God they have not believed in the one he has sent.
Demons believe in one God and they tremble, but they cannot believe in Jesus, not just that he is the son of God, in fact they know he is the son of God, but that he is also Lord and Savior, that's what separates us from them, our faith in Jesus that he DIED FOR OUR SINS, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day.
I hope that adds some clarity, may the grace of God be upon all of you.

I need someone to express this to me again… slowly. 😅
It’s hard for me to understand, but I can tell you know what you are talking about.
I think it is hard for me to ‘hear’ (understand and believe) salvation though faith alone, because I am scared. I’m scared of believing in a God of love not because of the God of love and forgiveness, but because of the God of fear and judgment I knew before.
It’s so strange. Because I have been a Christian my whole life. But during deconstruction (taking apart what I believed, comparing it to the Bible, and deciding what to keep, fix, or throw away), or feels like I am learning about a new God altogether. From a distant judgmental God to one who loves me more than a father, more than a friend. From one who will take His love from me easily to one who’s never take away His love.
