I live in southwest Kansas and we have a huge problem with dust. I really like all of the products shown BUT,no one ever considers how they attract dust. Bead Maker along with Seal and Shine attract a lot of dust. HCW and CMX hardly attract any dust which is a pretty big factor for me,HCW attracts far less dust. Now,I use Seal and Shine for the foundation and HCW for the maintenance application and I am very impressed with this combination! The surface is very hydrophobic and also very anti static,so the dust doesn't stick to the surface near as much. Love the videos, thanks for all of the hard work you put into them for us!

Very good combination! For quite sometime I've been using HCW topping it with Beadmaker to get that Hydrophobic, gloss and slickness combo with great results. (Dust is not an issue here) I'm going to definitely try yours out. That sounds like a winning formula. 👍

Such a detailed, honest, and analytical video, Sandro!! I'm all aboard the Seal n Shine train, only $7 USD/bottle. Very refreshing to listen to a detailing professional who doesn't car about the hype or manufacturers claims, but calls the products out for what they are. The detailing world has definitely been taken over by influencers, more so than before. The honest voices of the few I watch will certainly be regarded the most when it comes to new product reviews.

While I'm thrilled my product choice did best, I'm more glad there's finally a proper video on RUclips comparing these products. There's quite a few of them out there, none actually providing quality, factual comparison, instead being mostly opinion and hype. In fact, there's the belief already established that Seal and Shine has more chemical resistance than everything else, which I think you clearly put to rest. Fantastic job.
Edit: Waxmode I suppose is an exception, but you still take the cake for best comparison reviews.

TJ. That's a really good point about dust. I think it depends on what your use case is if you are a enthusiast then combinations will matter, but at what price point. I think you have a valid point and deserves my thumbs up as well. I want to say I enjoyed the video and hate when tape is removed it makes it super hard on camera to see difference, but I think the writing with wax pen made up for this. The meguires product is impressive and I'll give it a go, but I don't know what happened with the bead maker. I have used it several times, including my daughter's new Hyundai elantra. Just tried the Turtle wax Seal n Shine on my Black car and I must say it looks really good - dept is greater than the detailers I have tried so far and takes nr 1 spot until now. I have ordered the Meguiars Ceramix Wax to compare. Other detailers I have used: Kenotek showroom shine, Soft99 fusso coat speed & barrier V2, Bouncer's Done & Dusted Quick Detailer. The Meguiars is a bit more expensive than the Turtle wax but I noticed that there´s more in the Meguiars bottle 768ml vs. 500ml in the Turle wax.

Living in regional Australia and driving 400k to work and back each week I need to wash my car every weekend( country road driving) . I tried Hybrid Seal and Wax , thought it was great except it lost its properties only after just 2 months of car washing. I then tried Turtle Seal and Shine , purchased for just 19.00 discounted at Super Cheap Auto .I found it lasts at least 6 months of my continual weekly washing and still beads. ..Sorry just no comparison to Meguiars HSW or Mothers CMX at around 60 bucks a pop ..Seal and shine lasts twice as long for protection at a third of the cost ..Seal and shine best product on the market in my humble opinion.

Great video and very nice honest effort.
I just want to make one point. The bead maker when first time used is supposed to be very liberally used. It is supposed to be sprayed on the MFRowel liberally and applied to each panel and 24 hrs later you give a light spray and wipe like a detailer and it’s done. Yes, I agree for ease of application, this will loose all the points but the chemical resistance and gloss where it’s showing it’s not good, it’s not so. You just have to apply it as a base coat(first time) and keep using from there on as a detailer.
It’s also one of the few items which are cheaper options and pretty much same price/cost as United States (or even less) and credit to the manufacturer for that. You sort of feel deceived by other manufacturers here in Australia.
So if you end up using half or even 3/4th bottle for fist application on bead maker, it’s still economical compared to other brands. The sleekness is next to none and gloss is also enhanced if liberally used.
This is from my own experience on my car pro 3.0 ceramic coated car.
I don’t have shares in Bead maker!! 🙂

First off, I think the comparo is apples-to-oranges when you mix SiO2-based sealants (CMX and HCW) and non-SiO2 based sealants (SnS and BM). I have used only SnS and BM however. Interestingly enough, I noticed no difference in shine between the two; however if I had to give an edge, I would give it to BM. As for hydrophobic properties, I noticed the BM to be superior, not just a little bit better, but superbly better. The BM was a simple spray and wipe off; whereas the SnS required me to buff away streaking. On top of it, I noticed the BM lasts twice as long.
The SnS was nice but the BM was simply better. I look forward to try some SiO2 sealant some day, so I'll keep your comparo here in mind.

Meanwhile I use Seal&Shine as base-layer and Beadmaker as topping.
I have three cars - White Uni, Brown-Metallic and Nightfall Gray Metallic.
And nothing compares to the gloss of Beadmaker...
So I am wondering about your gloss test...
And about beading/sheading, your water ray is to hard. In real, rain of course, the beading/sheading of BM is the same like the other products. In this test it seems, BM fucks up, but the area with BM is completely dry, in contrast of the other products! And this is a very good effect in my opinion...
Only my 2 Cents of my own experiance... 🙂
    Greetings from Germany
    And nothing to forget:
BM is easier to use than the others...
Meg - mostly I wash the car in a box, at home again my car is dry (Meg is working at the best applaying on a wet surface)
Turtle - is wipe away harder, often you get strikes
BM - easy on, easy of
    CMX - till yet, I didn"t used it 😏

Great comparison. I almost feel bad living in the US. I've largely moved on from it, but when I first bought Seal N Shine, I had a coupon and ended up getting two bottles for $10.99 compared to your $26 for one bottle and the Hybrid Ceramic Wax was $15 at Target. Neither are my favorite product but the value of the Seal N Shine is insane and I ended up using it on cars I don't spend a lot of time cleaning. In fact, just this week, a neighbor asked about my 2005 Subaru that I leave outside. We recently had considerable snowfall and after it melted away, it still looks like I literally just washed and 'waxed' it though I Iast cleaned it in any way four months ago. Obviously up close, it isn't perfect but it's become my go-to suggestion for folks that just want to do super minimal work... basically drive through a basic car wash with no wax, dry off and spend 15 minutes or so with one product. That's not my method, but basically everyone that has tried it, loves it!

I did notice, on the first test, that although bead maker came last for water behaviour that when you stopped wetting the panel, the bead maker section was the dryest😳 beading is all well and good but after it dries it leaves dust spots behind so sheeting the water off is surely better🤔 never used bead maker before. I have the seal and shine to use when I run out of my sonax bsd angelwax qed 50/50 mix which I use as a drying aid with excellent results👍

    • @MarkusKleis
      @MarkusKleis 5 лет назад +1

Whether a panel sheets or beads is based on how the water is applied. A completely bare and unprotected panel will "sheet better" in the sense that it simply won't bead, while motionless, but apply motion, air or a moving stream of water and a hydrophobic surface will shed and sheet better.
It's incredibly easy to form incorrect assessments about beading vs sheeting. Products that aren't very hydrophobic love to tout their "superior sheeting," but the reality is there is nothing superior about it. It's a misleading claim that doesn't translate to the real world.
ANYTHING that is super hydrophobic will cause beading and water spots if left stationary in the rain - BUT - if that car is driven, the hydrophobicity will clean the car far better.

I have bead maker on my car. It beads water a lot more than video. I applied it to my car when it was wet the 1st time. I used a lot of product. I let it cure for a day. The next day i applied 1 more coat to my dry car kind of like you did in this video. For me water beads off instantly no sheeting at all. Just beads right off. Wonder if applying it 1st to a wet car and applying a thick coat made the difference.

I agree...I've watched multiple videos and the Turtle wax ice seal and shine outperformed the Meguiars HCW and the CMX. As a matter of fact I've seen now 4 comparison videos and the Ice seal and shine wind by a very large margin in every test except the gloss test. I'll be trying the Ice seal and shine as a topper to my Jade ceramic on all 3 of my vehicles as a "reboot"

Excellent comparison thank you! I just applied Seal and Shine to my vehicle topped with Ice Spray Wax, then it'll be Ice Wash and Wax to test the whole "system" lol. I've used and still have some original Ice products and they are excellent, too bad they don't make the Liquid Clay Bar anymore, that was great and I still have a panel's worth left. I HCW was my first choice until SNS came out but both are a great choice. Bead Maker seems like more of detailer than sealant in it's overall performance. Canadian pricing for me, BM $14, HCW $27, SNS $15, CMX $27.

Yes, totally agree Rich L, as we live on an island like our friends across the ditch in New Zealand. If the product is not made or grown here, then it has to be transported in by air or sea, not road transported, so that is a large cost. Australia has import duties depending on the product, so that also may need to be paid, just to get the product onto the ground in Australia. Then there is the cost of shipping to wherever within Australia to the distributer. He puts his mark up costs to recover import expenses and adds profit margin. The retailer then adds their profit margin. Then the consumer buys the product which includes 10% GST. It all adds up and highlights the disadvantage of living on an island when products are imported.
