I've used this on dry panels and the results are excellent for a mid range priced product. You don't need much though..... little goes a long way. I apply on the softest microfiber cloth and do a panel at a time, then buff with a clean microfiber. Once again, very little product is needed. Of course paintwork must be prept and clean first!!!!
Excellent video, other auto detail video makers are either lovers or haters, but this is measured and thoroughly tested, also the application process has been examined to discover what works. The best example of non product endorsed content I have seen. Thanks.
WOW! I’ve had the ceramic wax for over a week now and still haven’t used it as for I was doing some paint correction and polishing to my car. I was a little but iffy about this rinse off technique, I’m so glad I saw you’re video which proved to me that applying it with no rinsing gives better results! you don’t see a lot of videos like that on YT.
This video is by far the best demonstration, and the most descriptive and methodical approach on using this product. Not only for this brand, but other similar products. Cheers to you guys. The video answered all of my questions. I instantly subscribed!
I was so worried this product was going to be a gimmick, but the results of your test as well as my own speak for themselves. I started with 2 dry applications (like you recommended) last fall. Maintained every 2-3 weeks with spray-on-wipe-off application like a standard spray sealant, plus occasionally topped with good old Meg's Gold Class spray wax because I love the look. Made it through a road-salt-filled winter no problem - I was surprised at how easily my post-winter decontamination went. Anyway, great video, very thorough testing. You've earned a sub.
I think Meguiar's should update the bottle instructions: Apply dry for the foundation layer and immediately buff off. Refresher layers can be sprayed onto the rinse water and buffed dry. I apply mine to dry paint and get great durability and luster as a result.
Hello @RtDK, I tried this on my junker car before using it on my new car. I had this one situation where I applied too much product to metal that was a little to warm, and it left a grease smear. I now make sure i do a fine spray and buff off all dry. I can see where Meguar's wants that little bit of water to be a bit more forgiving. Also, the thin coat of water provides a little lube. I have tried misting a layer of water and just doing it dry, either way it's a really quick way to apply an excellent coat.
Sandro, setting the standard again for simple and effective no bullsh&^ testing. Your following is growing on this non bias testing and factual informative videos. Thanks for setting the benchmark on detailing product review, that the general public can then make an informative decision on what will best suit their needs.
I think considering the price point, it's a great deal with great store availability. Looks 95% as good as Nv Lustre, similar durability, and costs 1/8th the price per mL. Sounds like a winner to me.
This video was amazing and very thorough. I love your style, your tests, and you adding your thoughts and conclusions. Thank you for testing these products against each other. Very valuable.
I'm disappointed that I found this video this late as I've used the wet application with unsatisfactory results... Now I'm keen on trying out the dry application! I've watched just about every video on maguiars hybrid ceramic wax and this is the only one to have done a dry application, ironically with the best results on hydrophobicity and chemical resistance than any other application method. Thank you!
That's because YT even knows our thoughts. Its happened to me & my friend also. Ive thought abpout an old Fastways song from the early 80s, thought about it when I was at work , that evening, strangely enough, There it was in my suggested videos, its an old forgotten band & forgotten song. Yet YT knows.
I bought this product on a friends recommendation, but when I watched the application videos I didn't use it. Just didn't make sense to me to use it like that. Thanks for your detailed video showing that the dry method is by far the best method. That's what I thought would be the way to go. Thank You for your Quality explanation.
How does it hold up in a real world scenario? How often is it needed to maintain and recoat? :) i see a lot of guys wet coating with pure results, and just wonder how good it holds up with a dry application.
Super video comparison. Thank you for your testing. I am already a fan of Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, but I was surprised to see that Beadmaker doesn't add the gloss like I thought it did. From now on, I'm applying the Meguiar's on dry paint as opposed to what the manufacturer recommends, as I see if works much better that way. Great job.
I find your videos extra helpful, because you are real and honest. Before i bue a product i firstly chek your chanel. I like to try new products and things, however time and money are alwais an ishue. Tnx a lot
Awesome Video Sandro once again, I must say I always loved my lustre and jet even at the same time great combo and look. I totally agree with everything you said on here but personally can't see myself using the megs but a great product for a lot of people out there being a retail product. 👍
they have a new SIO2 based Detailer in the green bottle, which would be like a booster for the blue bottle really, but still works great, better than the black quick detailer, which works but not as good as the green new ceramic detailer ,would be interesting how good the combo would be say two coats of dry application of the blue bottle and then leave for 24 hours then apply the green bottle as a detailer and then test it, also they brought out a dedicated pro SIO 2 liquid ceramic coating, which is applied with meguiars own applicator and gloves, look it up, ( thats would be a good review for Sandro to do) but then again there's so many variables like temp and humidity when applying the new pro range and like always unless the paint is cleaned properly paint correction if required and then IPA wipe down, then apply any of meguiar's products with SIO2 in it, only then will you get the best of it and the same goes with car pros own products with the exception of hydro2 lite or the concentrate version. :)
I Recently tried the Meguiars ceramic spray wax.. First as instructed and then a dry application and found the same results. A dry application left a much better finish. Very nice job on your video.
Exceptional presentation! Crazy but for all of this time I've been using Meguiars HCW I never even tried it once using a dry application. Those results were very impressive. Will definitely try it next time. Thanks! 👍
Dear maestro Sandro, after watching your video I went to buy this product (here in Mexico it costs 500 pesos around 27USDollars or 20euros); carefully wash my wife's car; I polished it by hand and applied the product dry as you recommended... the result was surprising; the car shines like never before and the water repellency is as described in your video. My wife is so happy that she decided to talk to me again; what she doesn't know is that I first experimented in her car before applying it to mine. Thank you !! ... Greetings from Monterrey.
Bought a fiesta st2 mk7 and have been obsessed with keeping the blue bright and vibrant, used to use 222 carnauba wax but it's time consuming, for winter months it just doesn't repel that well, was interested in this product and I was tempted to use it dry and this video has confirmed that I can 😁😁😁😁
Beat review and testing of this product by far ! Thanks for the work and thought you put into this video. Now I can properly go apply the Meguiars to my truck.
I washed my truck, then while wet I sprayed the wax and passed it using a micro fiber towel. I then rinsed the truck and dried it. Sprayed the wax and applied dry with microfiber towel and let stand for an hour. I then rinsed the truck and towel dried again and that's it. Truck looks great and I couldn't be happier with the result. A few points to mention. This product is easy to apply and instead of streaking the plastic it actually darkened it making it look great as well. That is a big plus as well. I figure you can do a full size truck 3 times and a car 4 to five times. This will eliminate several products. My chrome on my truck and rims never shined as much as they do now as well. Again thanks for your great instructions and durability testing.
Excellent review with perfect timing. About a month ago I did the dry application on two cars. Neither car is garaged and weren't washed. This method only used a small amount of product. Results were better than expected. Last night before viewing this video I washed both cars and did the recommended spray and rinse method. Once I dried the cars they again looked great. One problem... I used a lot of product. Probably because it was the first time and I over did it. I would adjust next time. But I think next time I would just do the dry app. You don't save that much time and use quite a bit less product. I highly recommend meguires hybrid wax!
Ron B .. I live in florida and just bought a Jeep Cherokee sport 4 x 4. Bright white. There was a sale on the mguires so I bought 2 bottles. I tried it for the first time last Sunday, but the spray it on wet. I was soo surprised the next day. Car looked great. But you recommend using dry ?? I'll try it and see.
I always use the hybrid ceramic detailer, finish with spray wax on dry paint. Excellent result! Great video that confirms that I’m not wasting my time waxing 👍🏼
Am in love with Jet currently, but now tempted to try lustre. That gloss difference from beadmaker, to ceramic wax then to lustre is crazy. I think it would be great in the summer!
Tomorrow morning I will try the wax on a dry surface. Can't wait to see the results. I think I watched every video about the ceramic wax until this clip when I change my mind about how to apply the hybrid ceramic wax. I saw the better results in a dry application. Thy for the video! ^^
I've done 3 cars with this. All on dry cars. It's been a few weeks and they still look great. My car is usually a lot dustier by now. But it seems to not be as much of a dust magnet. One of the cars is kept outside and that is much better than it normally would be. The headlights and taillights look brand new too. Windows and windscreen are easier to clean with the wipers too. Thumbs up from me.
Used beadmaker, didn't bead. Used ceramic wax spray and rinse off like Megauires, had average results like you did and now the bottles finished! Every time you have showcased a nova product, it has done exactly what the description said it does and more! Just picked up the nova spray coating pack from waxit and looking forward to trying them!
Haha, Sandro, this video looks like it should be an instructional one for the Meguiars marketing team themselves. Lol. One would think they would have done this kind of testing before deciding which method of application should be marketed. Another great video mate. Keep up the great work.
Glad I picked up a pack of Lustre & Jet to test out rather than HCW, although very interested to see you testing out Turtle Wax Seal'N'Shine against Lustre (and/or a Lustre+Jet combo) as a lot of the US/UK detailers are showing it's very hard to cause it harm (chemically at least). I'd also be interested to see your tests on some other Aussie products (like the Optix range) Cheers!
You've done what most of the internet can't, a logical and clear examination of this product with information I can actually use. Thanks for that.
He nailed it
Damn, Ur the only one in RUclips that's done a dry application that turned out to be way better than wet application. Thumbs up for me 👍🏽
And another 76 thumbs up!!!
Everyone says that water activates the product?
I've used this on dry panels and the results are excellent for a mid range priced product. You don't need much though..... little goes a long way. @@JS-te4gz Doesn't look like it activated much in the video hey?
Has anyone had issues with applying to dry or any reason why a dry application shouldn't be done?
You are doing so much for detailing community... your tests combined with your experience with products are priceless!
Absolute banging review, mate. Everything was relevant with no BS. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated.
Excellent video, other auto detail video makers are either lovers or haters, but this is measured and thoroughly tested, also the application process has been examined to discover what works. The best example of non product endorsed content I have seen. Thanks.

Most helpful and informative video on this product I have seen anywhere. Thank you!!
This has become my favorite channel as of late.
This really is a brilliant piece of review. No bullshit, simple, truthful and yet extremely helpful. Thanks for this
You're a life saver! I've always thought of using it as a dry application. Thanks!
I think considering the price point, it's a great deal with great store availability. Looks 95% as good as Nv Lustre, similar durability, and costs 1/8th the price per mL. Sounds like a winner to me.
wow. this video just answered everything I wanted to know about this product. Nice work!
This video is so addictive and informative. No useless stuff
This video was amazing and very thorough. I love your style, your tests, and you adding your thoughts and conclusions. Thank you for testing these products against each other. Very valuable.
Probably one of the best comparison videos I've seen. Great job
Such a good video. Answered all my questions and more. Packed with info and actual testing. Thank you.
Great tests with visual logic. So many detailing channels have useless video. This is very useful!
Thanks very informative, best I've seen on RUclips.
I’ve been looking for a vid on this topic for ever

Such a detailed video. Gave me all the info i would ever need! Thanks S.
Thanks sandro, great video and review as usual.
No wasted words or bs. Great review. Seeing is believing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Wauw, nice video. Good explanation, and I've seen a lot of videos of this product.

Excellent review and testing video Sandro 👍🏻😊,
awesome vid thanks for all the demonstration 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Thank you, your experience and expertise is very appreciated.
Great job !! Very, very helpful !! Keep up the good work

I bought this product on a friends recommendation, but when I watched the application videos I didn't use it. Just didn't make sense to me to use it like that.

What a video, holy crap! Thank you for this
Awesome video, thankyou so much for such a huge amount of time and effort!
Wow you just saved me a lot of money. Going back to this product. Thanks buddy!
Awesome review my friend. I've experienced and noted the same results with this product. I love the stuff tbh.
How does it hold up in a real world scenario? How often is it needed to maintain and recoat? :) i see a lot of guys wet coating with pure results, and just wonder how good it holds up with a dry application.
Hi Sandro, another refreshing perspective on HCW review. Agree on your off level testing to explore the product capabilities.
Completely agree with the dry application. I do it that way all the time and it lasts for a few months!
Exceptionally well done Sandro!! I just subscribed.
Excellent in depth review!👍
Super video comparison. Thank you for your testing. I am already a fan of Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, but I was surprised to see that Beadmaker doesn't add the gloss like I thought it did. Where Have you been all my life Sandro ! This is the content I been looking for ! Going through you’re whole catalog of videos mate !
Right here lol, I’ll hope you enjoy the videos!
I find your videos extra helpful, because you are real and honest. Before i bue a product i firstly chek your chanel. I like to try new products and things, however time and money are alwais an ishue. Tnx a lot
Your the best on RUclips , your testing standard and comparison is way better than all other auto detailing RUclipsrs
Try seal & shine , I think it's better than ceramic wax
You might want to edit your post. Maybe “your testing standards blow everyone else out of the water” as it stands, reads like sexual favors
This was a great video. Thanks!!
Awesome Video Sandro once again, I must say I always loved my lustre and jet even at the same time great combo and look.
I totally agree with everything you said on here but personally can't see myself using the megs but a great product for a lot of people out there being a retail product. 👍
I just applied ceramic wax couple of days ago (according to the instructions) but your dry application looks way better man
Great informative vid. The Reflection of the bird flying at 9.31 was a Nice surprise haha
This video is amazing. Thanks!
Fantastic video man! Subscribed😎
Thank you again your my go to before I touch my car your videos are so easy to understand and follow thank you so much for helping
Thank you for doing this test, I knew applying on dry would be best!

As always a great vid Sandro ,unbiased and some great tests ,i love using hydro2 .I have not tried jet or lustre .But they look extremely good :)
Really excellent video, and the gloss test really surprised me with the difference it made.
Love the “ping pong” slider test! 😀
Great review. Glad I saw it before applying. Will apply dry for sure.
Been looking for answers about using it on a dry surface. Thanks!
Thank you for the very informative video

I like your way of applying the compound and testing . I'll subscribe and be watching . Thank you
i wish all youtube reviews were as practical and as good as this..... excellent
Thank you so much for a logical, concise video. Your video made it easy for me to justify a product I originally wrote off as a gimmick.
Thank you for your efforts
Great comparison and it made sense.
This is quite helpful, just bought my first wax bottle and I look forward to use it tomorrow 🙃
I have used it dry this entire time never had a problem in 2 years work great as long as the car is clean great product.
Hi CCAD you're clips inc this one are exemplary 10/10 - just the best thanx
Best test ever, kudos bro

Good honest useful review.
Thanks for your review of Meguiars, I'm going to pick up some Lustre! 😁
I always use the hybrid ceramic detailer, finish with spray wax on dry paint. Excellent result! Great video that confirms that I’m not wasting my time waxing 👍🏼
Very interesting result on the dry application. And confirmed my suspicions about the spray & rinse method.
It didn't make sense to me that the wet application and rinse off method could be better than dry application so I'm glad you showed it here.
Am in love with Jet currently, but now tempted to try lustre. That gloss difference from beadmaker, to ceramic wax then to lustre is crazy. I think it would be great in the summer!
Lustre is awesome you won't be disappointed, been using it for around a year now, gloss gloss gloss. And I have a white car.
This video really help a lot. NO wonder i just got average protection. Even Meguiars' bottle instruction not always true.
Finally a video that actually shows you how to use it
Thanks for the review
cool video great product!!!
A really interesting and impressive demo. I think I'm sold on Lustre. If I can buy it. Will try Amazon first. Many thanks. Bob
Haha, Sandro, this video looks like it should be an instructional one for the Meguiars marketing team themselves. Lol.
One would think they would have done this kind of testing before deciding which method of application should be marketed.
Another great video mate. Keep up the great work.
Cant wait to use this one
I love the ceramic wax, but now I think I have to try lustre. Slickness and gloss looks off the charts.
Another great video
Glad I picked up a pack of Lustre & Jet to test out rather than HCW, although very interested to see you testing out Turtle Wax Seal'N'Shine against Lustre (and/or a Lustre+Jet combo) as a lot of the US/UK detailers are showing it's very hard to cause it harm (chemically at least). I'd also be interested to see your tests on some other Aussie products (like the Optix range) Cheers!
