- There are two propellers available for the Torqeedo Ultralight 1103AC: the standard (1973-00) and weedless (1972-00). This video shows the speed and range testing of each on a Wilderness Systems ATAK 140. It also shows two fine tune adjustments to get the best performance based on the fishery you are using it on.

Thanks for compiling and posting this. It's super useful data to provide insights into the efficiency and range of the motor pod. I haven't yet seen a direct comparison for range with a Minn Kota, but from what we're seeing in our own tests (not perfectly scientific) the Torqeedo is more than twice as efficient. At two knots the Minn kota consumes 64 watts while the Torqeedo consumes 26 watts.

Two things stood out and impressed me in this video. 1st is that you casually mentioned Watts as the measure of the power the prop needed to push the boat, rather than amps. The second is that you recognized that it was important to swap in the other prop for comparative testing under truly identical conditions. Those are subtle things that the general public doesn't understand about proper testing. Even experienced engineers fall into the trap of changing more than one variable between tests, leading to incorrect conclusions. Just out of curiosity, when you show your tables of results, you report in units of "miles of range". I'm assuming this is based on some correlation between energy consumption at speed, battery capacity, and typical range using some standard boat setup (type of kayak, total weight, type of prop). Wouldn't the act of changing the prop also take you away from that standard configuration? Is it possible that the range increase with the weedless prop is even greater? Or is the different travel distance between the two props per unit of energy baked into your range calculation?
Todd Ferrante Yes, the range at all mph improves with the weedless propeller. It’s not just a top speed improvement. My understanding is that the heavier boats (the motor is rated to push 3000 lbs) do better with the standard propeller, and the weedless propeller does better with the lightweight boats.

Is there a weedless prop for the 4.03 ultralight and if not is one coming?
Todd Smith no, and no plans to develop one for the 403.
I’m also getting 7.4 mph on my TITAN 13.5 I have it on the farthest pin setting great product
