Wait wait wait...so all those years when I was modifying Everest 10's, Rockslides, etc and finally my JDM Yokomo MOA Challenger and all the scale guys were saying "Get out of those TVP (Twin Vertical Plate) rigs" as they used to be called they were really saying "we wish we had what you have?" Sigh...the more things change. LOL Good news is I still have all of them, including the Yokomo (One of my all time favs.) sitting on a shelf. I can be the cool kid again. lol

Looking forward to getting one. Many full size crawlers use axle mounted steering. They use full hydraulic steering which is mounted to the axle and only has hydraulic lines running to the ram.

This is exactly what I am looking for.. like you said for us guys that don’t live in USA, it very expensive to buy all the different parts for a belly dragger.
And buying this you don’t make any mistakes and have to order again. Because it’s all there👌🏻

Really cool to see Axial pushing for this format and looks like a lot of the design work thats been developed in the custom world is making it into "mainstream". A good mix of performance and scale. I actually think it's a great intro to LCG style rigs and may even inspire new style of crawling, different formats of comps.
Curious to see what the dimensions are for the FMM holes, if they used the TGH pattern. This kind of support may encourage shared standards like how we see in other RC formats: touring car, drift, 8th and 10th scale offroad/onroad. It could be a sign of innovation to come. Need one! Great vid!

Nice to see a comp-style rig being released by Axial. Very cool that Axial will have a wide selection of upgrades available. My only gripe - selectable overdrive is not legal in most comps and Axial could have simplified the gearbox and removed a lot of weight. I know Vanquish has the VFD but the VS4-10 is not a comp-style rig. Still, exciting to see Axial go down this road!👍

There are real 1:1 vehicles with steering on the axles, but it’s hydraulically driven. They have rams on the axles of a lot of rock crawlers so they don’t have pitman arms or tie rods. No bump steer. No links to bend. It’s crazy strong but hard to replicate in 1:10 scale.

this style has been around a long time but it will stay more of a niche field since just like other designs that try to push more performance, they offer better performance on the rocks at the cost of the stock truck look. Many people love the crawler scene because the cars/trucks look like the real thing. This is why offerings like the Bomber from axial dont really do that well in sales, yes they might perform better but you cant put a c10 body on it and make it look like that truck u had back in high school. Most arent gunning for that top spot at the tournament but instead enjoy the customization in terms of looks and yes trying to increase performance WITHOUT sacrificing that real world look and feel.

@@RCReviewChannel the price won't likely drop for a long time, maybe if we're lucky we'll get a holiday sale. Having built a few LCG rigs myself, I'd say this is a great entry for most hobbyists into this market. As you said well, the engineering is done and you don't need to understand suspension systems and geometry to jump in one. Last fully built gecko I saw for sale near me went for almost $2k 😳

Good question... because it can. Two X-factors:
      - you need the tech terrain available. And in the normal courses, you might see dozens of new lines were impossible.
      - the group you crawl with. If everyone has trail trucks, you'll get bored. But if everyone has Low CG's, it's on!

I appreciate the desugn and engineering that goes into this, but $430 is far too much imo. Ftx make an rtr crawler that works really well for $120, not the same quality, but it really does work and makes the thousands of dollars needed to complete this build seem absurd.
Prices have gotten out of hand and I would love to see brands that are bold enough to try and reverse that trend.
