  • Happy New Year, everyone! Check out this build of the Chevelle's diagonal 25.5 roof bar! I show the math in this one too, I hope it's not too dreadfully boring or confusing!
    I have been busy with things inside and outside of the shop, so I'm sorry I haven't posted a video in months! I've been working on editing this video for a couple of months, and I hope you enjoy this one. I wish I could explain the math a bit better/in a more exciting manner, but I hope it helps to understand my methods.
    Check out my dad's channel, Craig Keefer.
    He does the music in my videos and has some cool projects of his own!
    Thanks for watching, liking, and subscribing.

    Just found your channel about 4 hours ago. I've been watching this series. You do great work! When I was watching the first one and you were trying to weld in the trunk, I was thinking you need one of the torches with a trigger. I have a 70 chevelle with a blown 502. Couple short videos on my you tube page.

      Thank you! I appreciate that. Someone I know who used to weld aluminum tubing on boats had a torch with a button on it, and I've been considering something like that, but usually there is some way to make the pedal work, even if it's some absurd method like using your elbow or knees haha. The Chevelle sounds cool! I'll have to check it out! Thanks again for watching and chiming in!

      Yeah I know what you mean. I've been there a few times and I never got one of those torches either. The only cool accessory that I got was a magnifying lens so I don't have to wear my glasses under my helmet. Everything else I just improvise.@@keefershotrodshop

      Sorry to be away for so long, I understand now why some people don't post for months, once you get into a different swing, it's hard to make time for editing, but I have a lot filmed from the last couple of months, so hopefully will be putting more up relatively soon. Thanks!

    I would love to see how you go about mounting things like a front fuel cell or turbo mounts. If you do anything like that I think that would be great to see. I really enjoyed how you broke it down and shared your method to creating the bar on paper before any metal is cut

      I'll definitely make sure to video anything like that if/when it comes up. I'd love to do a video about mounting accessories and other jobs like that. Thanks, I want to make another video more clearly going over steps, but I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my methods in this video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. The only thing is I have to watch in small segments because my brain starts to boil.. lol. Do a remix of this and make a short, that will attract more views and subs.

      Haha, editing it was the same way, even though it was a video of myself haha! I might try to explain some of the fundamentals a bit better later, but I just wanted to share some of my methods. I might make another short some time. I've done one and I couldn't believe how fast it got 1000 views and likes and dislikes. Crazy! Thanks again for watching!

    I love how you detail the steps. Most just show what they did but not how they did it.

      Thank you! I have more filmed already and have done more work on the Chevelle since, so there's plenty more to come. The Nova is on hold for the minute. I will endeavor to keep it up. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    How do you set up your helmet? I have a hard time in dim light seeing very good but don't want to torch my eyes their bad enough. Thanks

    • @keefershotrodshop
      @keefershotrodshop  9 месяцев назад

      Welding in dim light is terrible, that's why I always have an LED work light pointed at what I'm doing. It's a whole other job just keeping that pointed at what I'm doing haha, but I have my Miller Helmet set to 9 for shade and 4 for sensitivity. It seems to do fine protecting my eyes, setting it lower does worry me as well. I have a head mounted work light that I am thinking of mounting to my helmet as well, but I must admit that sometimes I initiate my arc near where I think it needs to be and use the light to see, then quickly move the arc to the joint. I also feel for the joint with the tungsten before starting, then tip in lightly so I don't melt a random part of the tube, but I wouldn't recommend that method, haha; lighting is the better trick. Good luck with it! And good luck finding a light that works for you!
