audio is horrible
Wladimir Perez how?? Clean your ears
The audio was fine. The problem is between your keyboard and chair.
You've been called out and pinned. lol
it's a free video, bruh
the sudio is th emost beautiful i have ever heard in any video......ever............................BECAUSE IT WAS FREE INFORMATION
Great tutorial. Straight and to the point without a stupid introduction with lame music and begging for likes and subscriptions. thank you!
This is THE BEST video instruction I’m about to get all of my tools! Thank you sir!
I agree. Using this video to do my stairs for the first time!
@@OG-Ronin how did it go?
I never comment on videos but I just need to say this is such a great video with a perfectly detailed description which has helped me out loads! I’m 3/4 in and I haven’t skipped anything because everything you say is valuable (there’s no wasting time in what you say, so straight to the point) Thank you, really great video!! You certainly know your stuff.
couldn't agree more
All bases completely covered. I’ve done a couple staircases and many hours of research on techniques and they are all covered here. Stop here and follow this vid and you’re good.
One thing I needed was after using dampness to bring out the grain, before staining use a water based pre stain wood conditioner. This will make sure your wood looks consistent and not blotchy. It’s cheap and you will regret not using it if one of your stairs absorbs inconsistently. Learn from my mistake!
Thank you for this vid.
You did a great job editing this video! The quick cuts, combined with very short examples, and attention to detail for things like reducing audio levels helped me learn what I needed to learn without wasting valuable time. Thanks!
Its rare to find such an excellent how to video host! So many yap on and on about crap that isnt important. You are a top dog, best of the best. Thank you.
As a professional French polisher, I can tell you this is one of the better how do videos, this guy does at least have the knowledge to back up what he’s talking about and he was pretty much spot on with his procedures, although I would do any paint stripping before I started sanding. Having said that my advice is on old pine stair treads would be use carpet! They are just such a pain to do, this guy has made it look easy, it’s not.
We are in the process of doing ours, it took a full nine hours taking out all the little tacs (not including the tons of staples) that's had been holding down all the old carpet! There was hundreds of them, each one had to be very slowly drilled around so we could loosen them enough to pull them out with pliers! Then all the old gloss that was spilt (not us) has to be paint stripped then sanded off, next step, wood filling hundreds of tiny little holes!!
8:20 the only thing I have to say is you don't want to put a fan on polyurethane until you let it dry for a couple hours, and especially if there's pet hairs around, that High Velocity fan can pull dust like nobody's business and it will get stuck into your finish if you don't let it harden up a bit first. there's plenty more drying to be done so the fans are important especially for walked on surfaces. Awesome results 👍 good job
The stairs turned out great! Thanks for sharing the process, really useful!
That looks SO GOOD!! Gorgeous!!!
Absolutely fantastic video and info. Huge fan how you edited the video, straight to the point--love it!
Thanks for showing this. Showing how to do it with tools a average person would have and done without tons of music or hype building was a breath of fresh air.
Dude. Literalllyyyy everything I’m trying to do that every stair person I get a quote from says is impossible. Thank you!!!
This is very well done! I'd been researching this project for a while and thought I had a good idea of what to do. However you brought up a few tips and explained things very well that will save me a lot of time and produce a better result!
I have watched a lot of videos on this topic and yours is BY FAR the most helpful. SO many details I would not have known. Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
Most helpful video I’ve come across for this type of home improvement project. Thank you for the explanations and very good POVs so we can actually see what you’re doing!
this video is the epitome of tutorials , the video started with exactly what i needed without fluff 🔥
The best video of its kind I have come across. Chocked full of useful information with no “filler” footage. Great job! I put it in my DYI folder 👍
Very good video and very nice job. Thanks
Awesome explanation!! I no longer feel overwhelmed with what we started!
This is great! So detailed and answered questions I didn’t even know I had. Thank you so much!
Awesome video!! Great instruction, and so helpful to have all the products used and tools needed. Thank you!!
I enjoyed the thoroughness of this process and well done video. I would definitely suggest using a poly/stain product such as Minwax that comes in different shades for oak and satin, gloss, and semigloss. Any of the Lowes, Home depot , or Walmart will have their brand of combination water or oil based combination poly/stain product.
Love this video! I’m currently 3/4th done with my stairs (thanks to this video) and I’m excited to see the results! This video made it super easy to learn how to refinish your stairs especially if you’re doing it for the first time!
The best video for doing the stairs. Great tips, easy to follow
I have this facing me soon. A plan of action I have (because it's our main stairs, and there's no option other than to use them) is to stain and varnish every second tread, so we can at least go to bed and not be trapped upstairs and when the first lot are done, move on to finishing the alternating stairs.
Thanks for commenting with your plan: I was wracking my brain to figure out how to do that!
Double points for including a flowchart! Awesome
Incredibly detailed and informative video!
Thank you so much!
Wow! I thought I was thorough. I bet this took a hell of a long time. Looks great.
Surprised he said not to worry underneath with all of the detail work. Looks like quality, and Art.
Beautiful wood makes a Home to me.
Great job man! Looks great and u were very thorough yet to the point .. most people talk a lot of nonsense, ur video is perfect thank u I’m using it right now!
Well Done! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the great explainer video! Just started on my stairs, and this is an extremely helpful walk through of the process.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Your instructions are very clear and concise. I followed everything you said and the job came out perfectly.
You are thorough and talented. It was a joy to watch you work.
Hi mate, love your flow chart in the beginning. Genius way of explaining the steps. Sending big thanks from London UK.
Thank you very much for taking the time to teach those of us who really dont know how to do this. Your video was detailed and informative, not like other videos that really dont take the time to really explain each step. Thank you again.
Bravo! I just did my carpet covered stairs. Great tips
Beautiful job on the wood stairs. Tile on the risers looks smart too as white paint will get scuffed over time.
I seriously was just watching this to see how to prep the steps themselves, and before I knew it I had watched the whole thing! Very helpful and moves at a great pace. I could easily grasp what you were telling us to do and will most certainly be using this when I'm ready to actually do it (I just got all the carpet off today and need to get some more stuff together before I can seal it and all that good stuff). Thank you for this great video!
Interestingly for me, I am dealing with the exact same layout. In my case a raised bungalow. Good points throughout. Your video moves along at a great pace. A lot of RUclipsrs could learn from your effective editing. I might not agree with all your steps but this was informative and well done. Thanks for sharing.
Gerald - what steps would you have done differently? Just curious as I am in the process of doing the same project. Thanks in advance!
This was so helpful to me. You didn’t waste time with unimportant filler but you did include a lot of really helpful tips
Best tutorial. Unassuming, straight forward, it covers all the issues that I have anticipated with tips and demonstrations. Many thanks
Thanks for the video brotha. I’ll use this tutorial when I do my basement stairs
Appreciate the video you helped me look like the man my wife thought I was 😭😭😭
Hello - my husband and I studied your video and completed our 5 tread stairs today. It wasn't easy, but they look just like your refinished stairs. Thank you for the concise video. We wanted to see what they would look like before conquering the entrance way stairs. Happy Holidays from Connecticut.
Thank you for the great video, especially with the detailed explanation and tips on small things. Really helpful. The outcome of your work looks amazing!
I am doing this right now! Thanks for the help. Just needed to see how to "cleanup my past mistakes.
Wow, thank you for the STEP by STEP instructions! (Haha, get it?) This is great!

David Ayash I agree. This is an excellent video that gets to the point, doesn’t mire-up in minutiae and moves right along. Well done Sir!
Excellent Sir!!! Thank You!
That look so amazing bro !
Great work, and also the accuracy with which you work. I'm currently also busy with my stairs, think I'm going to do your method, good video thanks.
Love this video.
Great instructions attention to detail

Wow thank you so much! I'm in the sanding phase and wanted to make sure I did the next steps correctly. Great easy to understand video. What do you suggest if it's all painted? Stripper first?
Very good video , explains everything in details
Great job bud ! Imformative and clear ! I wish it would be easier to do stairs in real life as it is easy to watch video
My stairs look almost exactly like yours did, hopefully our finished products will be similar too

Good job!
Amazing video brother appreciate it
Excellent! TY!
Good job man👍
This was so helpful! What do you suggest if the risers have already been painted white? Should I just sand it to make it smooth and paint over it? I also have spindles.
Great job
Thanks for sharing it with us 😀
My pleasure 😊
Great video thank you
Good video. I would recommend not letting caulk dry against tape. Not as crucial in a dry location like this. But you risk damaging the perfect seal you have created at that taped edge, when you pull the tape up on dried caulk.
