Hello and welcome This episode on the Peugeot 308 Cat S Copart UK Salvage Rebuild Part 5 i try and do a paint repair on the front bumper it did not work out ???
Cant believe you are not replacing the rear panel all the strength is out of it the rear panel needs to be replaced it would have been if my employer had taken on the car, these cars all rely on the structure deforming in an accident as per the way the engineer's and designers designed it to allow for time for the seatbelts and airbags to fire at a known rate if the rear is weaker then it will not bend at the designed rate and may even prevent the safety restraint systems from firing risking the lives of anyone in the car.
The preparation on that bumper was horrible. If you can't be patient don't do it. For the materials you've bought and the time invested to do that horrible paint job you probably have botched it up for the sake of £40 to £60 quid extra for the proper painter. You need to keep an old panel to practice on and actually try and get a bit of education off your painter. Ask him to give you a few hours education over a few weeks, offer him a free service as a trade off, BUT one thing is for sure - you can't do another paint job like that again. You've bodged it and you know it and no amount of talking and waffling and changing camera angles or putting it outside will make it any better. Bite the bullet and pay your painter to fix YOUR mistake - call it a lesson learnt. Reputation is everything. This comment might sound a bit brutal - but you know it's right.
Grant the smart repairer is near you just get him to do all your painting jobs
Leave the painting to those that know how.
Yet another top video great progress on the car so far thanks for sharing 👍👍
I think it looks ok. It's certainly better than what it did look like 👍
I think it looks awful
It's better than what it was
Omg stop dont touch any other panels mark
Just paint😊👍🏿🍻 the car one colour
I thought you bought spraygun and compressor a while back. Wouldn't that have given a better finish than rattle cans?
@@franklove9897 hi mate yeah I did but I’m not set up to do my own spraying 👍👍
Did you use a 2k lacquer mate as it definitely changes the colour
@@SimonMay-oc2lk hi mate no I didn’t think you are right it does change the colour 👍👍
Mark leave the job to the people that can spray . Unfortunately you can't talk your way out of it to make it look better.
