  • Giant beans are a traditional Greek dish. The ingredients in it give the beans a unique flavor. Be sure to try this recipe, it's a total delight!
    Ingredients:
    500 g giant beans
    70 g olive/sunflower oil
    2 onion
    3 stalks of celery
    2 carrots
    1 red pepper
    3 garlic cloves
    1 cinnamon stick
    2 bay leaves
    1 tablespoon sugar or honey
    1 tablespoon of tomato paste
    400 g canned or grated tomatoes
    lemon zest from 1 lemon
    400 g water
    1 chicken or vegetable stock cube
    pepper, sult to your taste
    2 sprigs of green onion
    1/2 bunch of celery

      Ναι, φυσικά, τα φασόλια ταιριάζουν με το κρέας. Αλλά στην παραδοσιακή ελληνική συνταγή, γιγαντες μαγειρεύονται χωρίς κρέας. 😊

    @ 3:13 it reads 1/2 bunch of celery... looks more like Italian parsley ??? Same in the recipe!

    Do try to fry the carrots a while before you fry green celery stalks. The carrots take a lot longer to cook/fry and to soften.

      Thanks for your tip, but we actually just mix all the ingredients in a pot and cook all the ingredients already in the oven.

      @@Lady-Kitchen The harder a vegetable is to cut, the longer the cook time. (Given the pieces are the same size) Therefore Carrots and potatoes cook slower than most.

    The gloves are terrible. Why do you use them? IMO, there is no need to add plastic flavour to the veggies. The recipe seems to be great!
