Genuinely great to hear people giving 1x12s a shot. Truly overlooked for metal overall.

These IRs sound pretty badass! Having used some 1x12 IRs before, i agree with you that theyre underrated. I am not convinced that these reflex IRs are game changers, but they do sound quite good

Sounds great man. Huge riffs and the mix is great.
These Reflex IR's are impressive for a 1x12 for sure. Solid lows too which I wasn't expecting haha.
Was jamming through these and the Rev F earlier today, chunky and tons of fun to be had.
    cheers man

You caught me off guard on a holiday weekend, but I made it on time anyway. Thanks for the rundown and explanation of the product, they really do sound awesome and seem to cater to drop tunings quite nicely. I still need to pick up those ML Drums at some point as well. Always a day late and quite a few dollars short I am. Awesome tune as per usual, the hits just keep on coming! 👑🎸🔥

I don't like the mix ready too, meaning all guitars are not the same, and having the same playing style with same pickups it's definitely not very common, but those tones are very cool dude!

The ''Mix-Ready'' marketing term has been clarified many times by Mikko himself.
They just sit better in a mix because of a flatter response. You still have to ''mix'' like with any track, but it's minimal.
In fact, guitar tracks shouldn't require much EQing other than harshness and low end contro,l and maybe some slight top end boost. If you require more than that, you're either fixing the bumps/gaps that Mikko is talking about, or your source tone is just not right and should be revisited.
With Reflex IRs, you just won't have to ''fix'' those bumps/gaps that have been eliminated/controlled ''naturally'' at the capture.
It's easy for us to simply embrace the sound that the world always gave us (original cabs), and make it sound good in the mix.. it's just the way it always been.
It's not that there's anything ''wrong'' with regular cabs/IRs.. but those Reflex IRs are indeed very interesting and I definitely have to try them.
Based on what I've heard in Mikko's demo, they seem to fix some rumbling that most mixing engineer would attempt to fix with either an EQ/Dynamic EQ or even a compressor/multiband compressor... which is definitely not ideal. I think I'll get them TODAY.
    Thanks for the demo!

I'm right there with you. I lost faith in the idea of "Mix Ready" IRs after buying the original Bogren IR back which claimed to be just that. Harsh fizzy top end on every IR that still had to be low-passed, useless sub freqs that needed high-passing, flubby lows and nasty top end notching required. Some of them sound great, but good luck just dropping them in an IR loader and sending your track off for mastering 😆

I've realized that mix ready stuff are actually more like, ready to be mixed, means far less work to bake them in the mix , but you always have to do something to make them fit in the mix, and this is really not much work , good stuff

Hard to answer on here but there are videos on it. Multiband compressor band on the low mid area for the low mid blooms basically on palm mutes.

For me, IR is a scam. How is it possible that the same guitar speaker and the same microphone in the same position sounds completely different depending on who you buy IR from?
I know, a lot depends on the preamp used for the microphone, the poweramp used to drive the speaker and the room in which the impulse was caught.
So theoretically, impulses we hear and buy are everything else that is not the speaker.
Nevertheless, I believe that most of the impulses caught are heavily artificial and processed files. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, because ultimately I don't care about the way IR were created to get the desired sound. if it sounds good - it sounds good.
But still, it's a scam. Every few years there is another IR "breakthrough" and every few years new overpriced packages of the same thing are released.

I make my own IRs and mine are raw, only a couple I've EQed. It amazed me that the same kind of cabs. Say mesa with vintage 30s with a 57 on captured by all these companies sound different from each other. Gotta tell yeah though... The speaker, cab, mic, position. Room. How loud the cab is, the capturing process it's self. Sweeps or white noise etc. How much gain is on the mic... The variables are off the charts, believe me. As far as IR breakthroughs, I'm always sceptical. Thankfully these sound decent and it's cool that there's a 1x12 pack ou there. This is for the diehards really. Good fun.

It's not a scam! Basically the microphone positioning and variance in speaker cones alone can make a huge difference! There's videos on both matters on tubes, check 'em out! But I do agree, that it's interesting how the results can vary depending on which company's V30 cabs u buy for example - there's at least 1 video on that as well, which showed that some sounded similar, some different, but what is best is up to the person listening 💁‍♂
