I must admit, choosing the right indoor lighting can be a daunting task, but your video has shed some light on the subject. Your insights on how to effectively evaluate the data provided by manufacturers to determine which lighting option best suits our individual needs is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your helpful guidance!

Thanks Geg. Yes, that is my house! Now, thankfully the roofless part has a new roof and has been annexed and rented out! It's a big ol' house from 1703 so there are always a few "surprises" when you take on such a challenge. :)
You're back! This made my day! Great video too :) Though my Vivosun HCF3200 seems great to me, I can't find that Samsung label anywhere and their own information is conflicting between 301h and 301b diodes. Live and learn :)
Missed you dude love your led explination. Can you do a new ipm video explination. Dude everytime i loose passion for my systems it just takes one or to of your videos to remind me why i love my hydro hobby so much. Have a good one
Awww thanks so much for this wonderful comment Avi. IPM is a big topic and would probably need a series of short videos-there's a lot to get right, and wrong! Great idea. Thanks-and standby for more content in the not too distant future :)
Thanks Jake. By assigning diode types / groups to specific drivers, manufacturers can achieve higher overall system efficiency, rather than having to find a 'best fit' for all with a single driver. UV-A diodes are more commonly run exclusively on their own driver (but not always!), whereas far-red (730 nm) tend to be grouped with phyto-red (660 nm) to keep their ratios consistent. If growers were, for example, to boost far-red and reduce red (if they were on separate drivers) it could be akin to giving them rope to hang themselves with as plants could exhibit a shade-avoidance response and start stretching up! Not a good look for indoor gardeners. In 2023 you will see more tech coming to market including special timers that keep the far-red diodes on for an extra 15 minutes after 'lights off' to promote a quicker flowering response / transition from veg to flower. The new options that LEDs are opening up for indoor growers keep expanding! Exciting times.

Watched again. Very informative video. Yeah, ya need to be careful of some of these Chinese lights with lofty claims without any info on the brand of diodes. Mostly coming from Amazon. It's crazy how much LED has improved and have become more affordable. But for anyone reading and has never bought one, do your research, listen to people like Everest and shy away from ANY blurple or most from overseas. There are a few good ones from there but beware. I've learned the hard way that sometimes spending a little extra is definitely worth it.
Thanks Rob. It’s an exciting time for growers interested in LEDs. In 2023 we are seeing very decent 720W multiarray fixtures retailing at $400 and now new “driverless” LED fixtures are available which run off DE-HPS eballasts! Watch this space.
A couple questions... Have you ever toyed with making your own grow lights like Growmau5 just buying the COBs, and is it worth it. For a while I've toyed with making a Volksgarden rotational type garden system and making a grow light to fit. Any thoughts?
Hi BigRegg, thanks for your questions. No, I leave that kind of stuff to Growmau5 :) The old "Ecosystem" style gardens worked well because HID lamps emit their light 360 degrees perpendicular to the lamp, so positioning your garden all around it (with no reflectors on the lamp, obviously) made great sense. With LEDs it's not so cut and dried- because they don't have the same style of radiant emission. I can definitely see some potential for stadium SOG style grows with LEDs though.
