Thanks, I was trying to figure out how to use mine with my D800 for slave mode, and that explained it all perfectly.

An instructive and helpful video. One thing, however, when you entered the Slave mode feature, you had it set for: "Cn" (Canon) rather than "N" (Nikon). Interestingly, it seemed to work. Anyway, an otherwise great review. Thanks!

great video. I came across your video about the yongnuo 565ex, which I have, and never realized I could fire it without triggers. .nice. It works perfect because I tried it after watching the video. I purchased the 568ex model because it had hss. should work nicely with my nikon d7000.

So the flash's TTL works even just from a popup triggering it? It's not firing a manual flash? I thought that was only possible when using a compatible TTL wireless trigger?

Hi. I have a flash similar to yours. It's NEEWER SPEEDLIGHT NW656EX. My camera type is Canon SX60 HS, which is a bridge camera. The flash is really good. But it seems that either the flash is powerful than the camera or I didn't get the settings right. The reason is that when I mount the flash on the camera and put both on, the flash is always
adjusting all the time. You can hear the sound all the time. Will you be able to advice on this? Alternative, can you suggest a very good, not expensive flash for my camera? Thanks

What is the difference between YN468 II (iTTL for Nikon) and this flash YN565 (TTL for Nikon) ? Will YN565 automatically adjust the flash lens position based on the camera lens position similar to YN468 II (iTTL)? I want to buy one of this flash for Nikon D7000. Please suggest

    Got a few questions:
    1. Is this flash more powerful than Nikon SB700?
    2. With SB700 set to i-TTL and put on a Pocketwizard TT5 and remote operated from an Pocketwizard mini-TT1 on top of a D800 and with AC3 (or SU-800) on top of the mini-TT1, this gives me commander mode control, can switch between Manual and i-TTL with SB700 on TT5. So... will this Yongnou flash allow me to do the same?
    Any comments please.

    Dear Fotogenic team ,
Can you also put up a video for yongnuo YN 685 for nikon ....i am not able to figure out how to trigger it optically as shown in this current video of yours towards the end .. Thanks in Advance - Tejas

    • @noemioyola1914

El 685 no tiene respuesta óptica, solo cuenta con respuesta radial, para eso necesitas de transmisor YN 622.

    • @timecapsulefoto
      @timecapsulefoto 9 лет назад

Yes. My Nikon d3200 doesn't have a commander mode either. What I had to do was go a purchase a trigger for the hotshoe and flash itself. Works like a charm.
The one I purchased was the Phottix Atlas II Wireless Trigger. Make sure to purchase two (one for the hotshoe, the other for the flash to receive the command. I also have this very flash.

Has anyone tried to get service on the Yongnuo? I get that they have no place to send defective units to a US location. You have to send it to China, and pay BOTH way. No way I would spend some $80 or so, for what may be a $70 unit. I bought a YN560 iii, only 2 months, at 1/16th or less power! Less than 5 sessions. Already broke (in the middle of a shoot!). Now it wont flash other than at full power, a common happening. Essentially useless. For covering events, I need something with quick recycling time.
Having to send the units to China, what they are saying is the their flash has NO WARRANTY. They offer the warranty just for legal reasons I guess.
I am looking at my trusy Vivitar 285. Yeah, she is ugly, rattles, no fancy digital buttons. But she works. I really feel that by going with the Yongnuo flash, I left a good women for a cheap hooker who just left and took my money.
